Welcome to this charming and quaint cottage, nestled on a quiet road within easy walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and shops. The moment you arrive, the bright and beachy colors, along with the delightful tin roof, beadboard wall, and white picket fence, create a picturesque setting for an amazing beach stay.

Step inside the main cottage, where a warm and welcoming living room/dining and kitchen area beckon you in. The first sleeping space features a delightful Twin daybed, adorned with colorful pillows and throws, creating a cozy and inviting spot for relaxation. The second sleeping space offers a Full bed, nestled in a private three-walled romantic nook right around the bar area.

The intricate design of this cottage is both clever and creative, with everything thoughtfully placed and functional. The decor exudes a peaceful and calming atmosphere, embracing the light and colors of the sea. The adorable eat-in kitchen and overstuffed chairs in the living room, complemented by a screen TV, add to the comfort and enjoyment of your stay.

The full bathroom is located through the kitchen towards the back of the house and conveniently features a second door leading to the outside, facing the guest house.

This delightful cottage also features a charming guest house at the back, offering a comfortable Queen bed, TV, and AC for a cozy retreat. Please note that the doorway into the guest house has a step over and down threshold. The full bathroom is located in the main cottage, just a few steps away, and for added convenience, the washer and dryer are situated on the back porch.

Everything was perfect. The absolute only thing I can complain about is the lack of drainage for the outdoor shower. Water pools under the wood floor and then the mosquitos get out of control.

Overall, this was a great place to stay. The downfall is that it's old and needs some attention to the subflooring. We kept finding ants and large palmetto bugs. When cleaning at the end of the stay, we saw a big hole under the bed for insects to enter.

A Step Back in Time

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay at the Old Love Cottage. It was a perfect romantic get away for us. It’s the kind of place you expect to see Spencer Tracy heading out to sea or Carry Grant and Irene Dunne in a quirky situation comedy. It feels like a step back in time when life was simple. The beds were comfy. My wife loved sleeping in the guest house. It was clean, cool, and easy to access. The main cottage has a big fridge, plenty of space for a couple, cozy seating and a relaxing atmosphere. The beach is a short walk on a trail though the dunes and there are wonderful restaurants right across the street including a candy shop with ice cream. The only downside is the mosquitoes. They are everywhere. This has nothing to do with the cottage, just a fact of life on Tybee. Be prepared to battle with these little blood suckers, they’re fast and clever. Other than that, we had no issues with any other critters beyond a lizard or two. The beach was quiet and almost private at times, great spot for long walks, wading out past the breakers, fishing or just laying out and enjoying the breeze. We loved it and would return if given the chance. We highly recommend it for some time away, stress relief or just a mid-summer reset.

It has all the conveniences of home such as coffee maker, microwave oven, etc.The cottage is a very short walk to the beach as well as being close to restaurants, gift shops, and convenience stores. One can rent, if desired, a motor cart to traverse the general area.I truly enjoyed my stay at the Old Love cottage. I hope to visit Tybee Island again in the near Future.David H.Randolph, MA

A Nice Beach Vacation Cottage

House was an idyllic - rustic, beach bungalow. Perfect for a few people or little family. It is more than 99.5 steps to the beach, but it is only a 2 minute walk roughly. Beach wasn’t ever too busy. Everything worked as it should, and we had no issues at all! Great stay. Would rent from Tybee Cottages again!

The perfect cottage!

This was the perfect cottage for my sister and me to stay at for a long weekend or unwind! We were close to the beach, shopping, restaurants, and Savannah. Everything worked as expected and was as described. We were not disappointed and would recommend this cottage for two to three people who get along very well. The rental company was easy to work with and provided check in and check out information in a timely manner. Thank you for this jewel and we look forward to staying with you again.

Perfect Fit!

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. With only a few steps to the ocean and to the sugar shack, our kids thought it was the perfect location and trip. Thanks for providing such a great base for our family adventure.

Great Little Gem

Super cute place to get away! Being just a short walk from the beach meant being able to watch the sunrise across the water. The main cottage is quite small, so don't pack a lot of stuff! However, the quaintness makes up it! The separate bedroom was a perfect oasis away from the kids, while being close enough to not be removed. We had a mishap with a lock, but management was super responsive and had the situation resolved in no time. The kitchen came super stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. The only negative thing about this place I can think of is a broom would have been nice to keep up with the inevitable beach vacation sand.

Cute little cottage

Perfect location; only 99 steps to the beach. Great beach path. Small 1 “bedroom” cottage with a detached bedroom. The inside bedroom isn’t private but was great with my daughter. She slept on the daybed so we could easily talk but have our own space. We didn’t use the detached room. Comfortable but small.

Sweetest Little Cottage

This is my second time staying in this cottage and I love it. It has everything you need for a weekend retreat. Incredibly close to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood. Host was always helpful and prompt to respond.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While extremely cute this property was located on a dead end street with no lighting. The curtains were not sufficient in size so it didn't feel like there was much privacy. There was no closet and all flat surfaces had some type of decor on it which left no place to put your things. The toilet was not solid on the floor so felt like you might fall through the floor while using it. I do not think more than 2 people would be comfortable staying here at a time.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in the old Love cottage. Unfortunately, it was not great for families as listed. The third bedroom is an attached building so we were not able to really utilize the space well as a family. Also, you could tell that it was worn from many years of guests. Furniture was stained or unsteady, there was a hole in the bedroom floor, and sheets were stained. The toilet was also very loose and moved when you sat down and the shower curtain was moldy. I understand a beach cottage and beach conditions are not going to equal the most luxurious stay, but these seem to be pretty easy fixes.

We absolutely loved every aspect of the cottage. We had three teen girls and me; with the little cottage out back, we were fine on space, even with one bathroom. Kitchen was well stocked. We loved the location, with a quick 3 minute walk to the beach. Conveniently located to beach, groceries, restaurants, lighthouse etc. We rented bikes and rode them everywhere we went all week - perfect location! My first trip to Tybee, loved the vibe and this cottage would be my "go-to" when I come again. Thank you!
