This charming, beachfront cottage is a must see for your next vacation. Enjoy one-of-a-kind views of coastal Maine, your own path to the beach, and easy access to all southern Maine has to offer. Located in the Kinney Shores neighborhood of Saco, it's on a quiet, family-friendly street. The cottage features unique woodwork throughout and has a welcoming atmosphere, not fussy at all, and you'll feel like you’ve been vacationing here for years. A beachfront lawn gives you an opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and beach views right from the backyard--and provides privacy from beach-goers on the other side of the dune grass. Well thought-out amenities include, but are not limited to: fully equipped kitchen with a table that seats six; window filled sunroom to enjoy the ocean views and breeze; outdoor shower perfect for rinsing off after a day on the beach; 3 bedrooms furnished with plush mattresses and bedding (1 queen bed; 2 twins beds; 2 twin beds); ceiling fans throughout; laundry; beach chairs and sand toys; and a heat pump AC unit, so you have your choice of enjoying the cool breeze with the windows open and fans on, or to cool off in the AC.

A 10 minute walk into Ocean Park, you can enjoy a fresh cinnamon roll from Ocean Park Market while picking up your paper, play a round of shuffle board, or check out the weekly activities posted in town center. If you enjoy walking trails, you can explore Ferry Beach State Park, just a 3 minute drive away. And just a 5 minute drive away, you’ll be in Old Orchard Beach where you can find fun at Palace Playland, play mini golf, and check out numerous bars, restaurants, and shops. Also you can enjoy Old Orchard Beach’s weekly fireworks right from your front lawn! A 5 minute drive will get you into downtown Saco and Route 1 where you can access even more amenities such as Funtown Splashtown, drive-in movie theater, grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. And just 25 minutes north, you can explore all Portland has to offer.

Our family really enjoyed our stay here! The size of the cottage was perfect for our family and location was excellent. We love the porch and open space. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer. Would stay here again!

Loved everything. One of our best summer vacations ever. So Maine! House was comfortable, well equipped and clean. Location perfect. The beach is beautiful - unexpectedly, the water was warm most days. The Kinney Shores neighborhood has a real nice and mellow vibe, and Ocean Park is just so quaint. You'd never know OOB is right up the road! Hannah and Len are awesome hosts. Highly reccomended!

Great cottage on the beach.

Great cottage, right on the water, along a nice sandy stretch of beach. The place was bright, nicely furnished/decorated/updated, and very comfortable. And the hosts were just terrific.

Another amazing vacation

This is our second year staying at this house and for the second year in a row we couldn’t have been happier. The owners are so responsive with any questions we had. The house itself could not have been cleaner and was filled with many things we may have forgotten or didn’t realize we’d need including toys and games for our kids. Most importantly you can’t beat the location!!! . We absolutely love staying here and hopefully will be returning again next year.

A little piece of paradise!

My family and I have vacationed in a wide range of Maine cottages over the past 70 years and this one is now known among us as "the perfect cottage". It is clean and comfortable without being overdone, has all the amenities one needs, is perfectly located and the view is endlessly breathtaking. The hosts were equally wonderful, warm, present and responsive when we had questions (although we had few as they provided excellent pre-arrival information!). While we were there as a group of adults this time, the cottage is well suited for a family with children or teens. We are very grateful to Len and Hannah and hope to enjoy their wonderful "beach gem" again in the future.

Fabulous Maine Beach Vacation

Our family of 5 absolutely loved our stay at Sawcotuck, Hannah and Len were responsive making our vacation seamless and stress-free. The property looks great in the photos, however, the house and proximity to the beach are MUCH better than the photos show. The house was clean and welcoming. Bedrooms are small, but perfect for crashing after a long day in the comfortable beds. The common space with the kitchen, dining area and living room are open and conducive to the family spending time together. The kitchen is very well stocked with virtually all you need to prepare any meal and the pantry items were convenient and well thought out. One rainy day we were able to whip up a blueberry buckle almost entirely from the ingredients in the house. The sunroom became our favorite retreat. With abundant natural light and serene views, it was our chosen spot for morning coffees and late-night conversations. The house is minutes away from quaint Ocean Park, where we played shuffleboard and ate ice cream at the Ocean Park Soda Fountain multiple times. Within a 10 minute or less drive we were able to play mini golf, go to the movies, spend a day at Funtown Splashtown and an evening at the Palace Playland of Old Orchard beach (5 minutes away). While the beach at Kinney Shores is so nice that you never need to leave, it is amazing to have all of these options minutes away. All in all, our stay surpassed all expectations. It's a place we are eager to visit again!

Enchanting cottage with panoramic sea view

We really enjoyed the cottage and had a great time in the sunroom. The view is breathtaking, one of the best place to watch the sun rise on the ocean. We appreciated the short walk distance to go to the beach. The neighborhood was quiet and the cottage very convenient and equiped with everything we needed. We would rent again.

Great week at a lovely property

We had a great week! The house was just as listed and was ready on time and clean. The house had lots of items such as a cooler, etc. The beach was so close and not crowded. Loved our walks on the beach and then hearing the waves at night. I know there was air conditioning, but we did not need it. Ceiling fans were enough and it was a hot week. We highly recommend this rental!

Great vacation stay!

We had a wonderful time staying in Leanord & Hannah’s cottage! We loved the sun room overlooking the water. The handcrafted boats hanging on the wall and all the other artisan touches make this cottage so charming!! It was well supplied and the hosted were great to work with.

Beachfront house with all you need

We’ve stayed in a lot of rentals in the Saco/OOB area and this one was the best. It’s right on the beach with a private path to the beach! The panoramic view from the front room is breathtaking. Bedrooms all have closets and dressers and comfortable beds. The house is well stocked and very clean. We hope to come back again next year!!

Beautiful location, perfect cottage

We had a wonderful week at Hannah and Len's cottage. We had 4 adults, a 3yo and an almost 2 year old.I had mentioned we had 2 small children and Hannah thoughtfully left us a cute Maine bedtime book and a jar of wild Maine blueberry jam. The house is super cute with wonderful handmade details and the front room facing the ocean is magic. We spent mornings and evenings in the front room watching the waves, boats, and birds. Beach access is 2 doors down and an easy walk with small children. If there was a path you could walk out the back door to the beach, but the beach grass/dunes are protected for nesting plovers. We spent lots of time on the beach, went to the wonderful Portland Children's Museum for a morning, and ate great food in Saco, Portland, and Biddeford. We loved our stay and would love to return! After we returned my son said he missed Maine for the first couple bedtimes at home. Thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us!

This home has been enjoyed by our family for 5 generations--and it's a special spot we're excited to share with you! You're right at the beach, with views right from the cottage helping make a perfect summer vacation - you can see the dune grass, the ocean, and the sky. In the distance are the Saco Bay islands and Wood Island Lighthouse. You will fall asleep hearing the breaking waves and wake up to the sound of seagulls.

Location, location, location. You will be literally steps from the beach with your own private path. Spending a day at the beach has never been easier. And you're close to all the amenities you'll need on vacation, not to mention you're 25 minutes from Portland and 90 minutes to Boston.
