Sea Ranch Abalone Bay, with its curated amenities and stunning decor, is perfect for a romantic getaway, girl's weekend, gentleman's holiday, or relaxing retreat for the family. Ample workspace and strong WiFi make it a great remote work location as well. Anglers and divers are also welcomed!

Our digital guidebook, free and readily available for download on all your electronic devices, informs you and guests about the house, and its amenities. Sea Ranch Abalone Bay is surrounded by meadows and woods. As such, Guest may encounter various insects and wildlife traditionally found in a natural environment. As heat and drought increases you may find ants and/or Jerusalem cricket (potato bug) seeking shelter in the house. Owner employs year-round monthly pest control services and provides insecticide for your use. Guests are advised to keep the home clear of crumbs and food.
Guests are also advised to feed dogs inside and keep doors closed to avoid raccoons from entering.

LEGAL RENTAL AGREEMENT: Guests are charged full amount at booking. Guests are required to sign legal rental agreement within 3 days of booking. Failing that owner reserves right to cancel the booking. Guests with dogs must pick up dog excrement or be fined $100. Of special note in our legal agreement: While every attempt will be made to ensure that all advertised equipment and appliances are in working order at the commencement of Guest's stay, no reduction of rent, rebate, or refund will be issued for a mechanical failure of heater, dishwasher, washer, dryer, TV, refrigerator or other appliances.

SECURITY DEPOSIT: A security deposit of $500 is required to be deposited with the Owner. It will be collected separately prior to your arrival or at check-in. Guests are expected to maintain home and courtyard in good, operable, and generally clean condition. Guests' dog's excrement must be picked up or a $100 fine will be charged to lead guest. Guest is responsible for any damages or breakage to the Unit by anyone and/or pets allowed to enter the Unit during the rental period. Owner may elect to either deduct any damage from the Security Deposit or charge the credit card on file of the Lead Renter for any damage or breakage or excessive cleaning costs caused by Guest and/or party.

SECURITY CAMERAS/NOISE MONITORING: This home is equipped with 2 surveillance cameras located outside the front and back of the home to monitor the perimeter of the property. The owner meters the level of noise inside and outside the property and will advise the guest if the noise level exceeds 50dB. By accepting a reservation, you acknowledge and agree to possible recording at the front and back entrances of the house.


TSRA FACILITIES OUT OF OUR CONTROL: Due to high demand and limited availability of facilities requiring reservations for lap swim and Tennis/Pickleball as managed by TSRA, we cannot guarantee that all guests will have access to the pools and courts. Please note that no refund(s) will be provided in relation to the TSRA facilities.

PROPERTY ACCESS DETAILS: Guest's check-in, checkout, and full property access details are sent at time of booking via our contract, digital guidebook and reminders sent periodically through and including day of check-in. Information is sent via email, SMS and are included in our guidebook with video and written description. Guests are are informed door code is live at 4PM, on contracted time of check in. Code to door expires at 11AM on day of Check-out as per contract. Owner is available by phone if further instruction or support is needed.

Another relaxing stay at Abalone Bay
We have become a regular at Abalone Bay because it ticks all of the boxes. Being located on the ocean bluff is perfect for taking walks on the Sea Ranch trail and for viewing the sun disappearing into the ocean. Our dog loves it here because of the unique sights, sounds, and smells along the trail. The house is fully equipped having everything necessary for making a multi course dinner or just mixing a cocktail. Surf Market in Gualala has most of what you need for either. Our favorite places for breakfast are Trink’s Cafe in Gualala and Twofish Bakery in Stewart’s Point. Donna, the owner/property manager provides a guidebook that has everything you need to know about staying at Sea Ranch.

Terrific Visit to Sea Ranch
Abalone is next level for a wonderful stay at Sea Ranch. Donna goes over and beyond to communicate and make the home feel so special. This is no ordinary rental- it’s in beautiful condition and the location is one of the best. The kitchen is well stocked from a crock pot to a waffle iron and the jacuzzi is in a perfect location to soak in all the stars. We will absolutely stay here again and are so grateful Donna has made this beautiful home available to others!

Christmas time at Sea Ranch
We decided to take a pre-Christmas vacation at Sea Ranch the third week of December. Upon arrival at Abalone Bay, my wife and I were very pleasantly surprised when we walked in and found the home fully decked out for Christmas including the tree, decorations, candles and even the place settings. The owners go out of their way to make the property feel like a home instead of a vacation rental…and it works! The location of Abalone Bay is special but the property is managed better than any other Sea Ranch property that we have stayed at. As a bonus, we had a day that was 75 degrees (in December!) and sunny with moderate winds providing for a perfect day for a long walk on the bluff with our dog, Bear.

My husband, Jorge and I have always had a love affair with the Sonoma Coast, and most especially with The Sea Ranch. Just before we made up our mind to purchase our home Jorge went diving in the waters below. There he harvested his first 10" abalone! That cinched the deal and gave rise to our naming our new home "SeaRanchAbaloneBay.... " for the cove that graciously gave up the yummy mollusk. Unfortunately, harvesting abalone is no longer possible, but spearfishing and fishing off the bluff remain a favorite activity for Jorge and me, and our many guests. We'll be happy to share some of our insider tips with you too!

We give back to our community globally and locally.
We have always believed in the importance of family, friends, and giving back to our community. No matter where we have lived over the years we have always been active in the community we call home. That connection shows that we are all linked no matter where on the globe we or our guests may be at any moment.

In these times of climate change with its global warming, it becomes even more important that Abalone Bay recommits itself to the original covenant of The Sea Ranch. Further, we also declare a climate emergency. Based on the science before us, we promise actionable steps to stop the climate emergency we now face. For that reason, we have joined Tourism Declares. This initiative supports tourism businesses, organizations, and individuals that declare a climate emergency and take purposeful action to reduce their carbon emissions.

We also act locally as a member of the Sea Ranch/Mendonoma Community. A portion of our proceeds of your guest rental is given directly back to the people of "Mendonoma." We also invite our guests to join us in this endeavor. Local non-profits we support include: Coastal Seniors, Action Network, Redwood Coast Humane Society, Redwood Empire Food Bank.
