Idyllic Hideaway for Two ...or one!

Relax in this peaceful, self contained and beautiful loft style house, or unwind in the private garden after a full day of exploring Victoria. Ideally located a the mouth of Portage Inlet and Colquitz river with direct routes to all major attractions, shopping and the beautiful Victoria inner harbour. Bring or rent bikes to take advantage of the Galloping Goose Trail less than five minutes away. Enjoy morning coffee in the sunny courtyard or a glass of wine at the end of the day. Host resides on the property for added support but guest are completely separate and private.

This apartment is beautifully situated in a garden oasis. It is a beautiful warm welcoming, artistically decorated home away from home. The kitchen was well equipped with all the extras for cooking meals. I enjoyed the garden views, secluded quiet location and cozy space for my Victoria visit.

Great spot - great host

The accommodation was just as advertised, very comfortable and relaxing. We hope to stay again the next time we visit Victoria.

Springtime Stay

The place is beautiful and suited my needs very well. Lots of natural light and beautifully kept gardens were definitely perks of the property. Callayna was an excellent host, and was very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay again :)

Amazing place, awesome host

This is an amazing natural oasis not far from downtown. Callayna was such a great host, and was so so so sweet to our apprehensive pup. The place is beautifully decorated and well-appointed. Overall a calming retreat. We will definitely stay here again!

Callayna is an impeccable host, greeting us and showing us around the house and then giving us privacy. We loved the comfort of the house and its beautiful garden. Sitting in the garden with a late afternoon drink was a special treat. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Although the location is next to a freeway, the house is very quiet with little road noise. We will stay with Callayna, any time we return to Victoria.

Lovely spot

This is a beautiful place to stay! It has everything you need and Callyna is very responsive and friendly. We usually stay right in the city, but this is a very short drive away, and a lovely oasis to return to. Our dog loved it too. We even saw a beautiful owl dust-bathing. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommend it!

Beautiful oasis just outside of Victoria

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Callayna was a very welcoming host. The property is exactly as listed and shown and it exceeded our expectations. Beautiful garden and grounds for our dog to explore and very close to urban hiking trails for us. Loved the location and relaxing vibe. Thank you Callayna… we will be back.

Wonderful home away from home!

Callayna, the lovely host, welcomed me and my dog upon arrival, showing me around the beautiful cottage suite. This place is warm and inviting, well-equipped, with a very comfortable bed upstairs. I loved that it was separate and private, surrounded by garden and trees. The location is amazing, with easy access to main roads, shops, and the beautiful walking paths at the Gorge. I will return!

Wonderful Garden Paradise

This place is in a beautiful garden setting with wonderful aromatic smells and quiet. Beautiful walk to the water either from the house or just a ten minute walk on the main drive. The owner is wonderful and very friendly. This was one of the best places I’ve stay and we will be back. Highly recommend.

What an Amazing place!

Thank you Callayna for sharing your beautiful apartment and gardens with us. We came from Tacoma on the ferry for 6 lovely days. Staying at Callayna’s was so lovely: perfect location right off the highway with a master garden and trees surrounding the quiet property. The space was great for the two of us with easy driving into Victoria and around Vancouver Island! Lovely conversations too! A ‘not to miss’ vacation home away from home.

Wonderful rental on large forested property

The rental was well-appointed with great art and access to a beautiful garden patio (even nice in winter)- would love to see it in spring and summer. The remainder of the 2 acre lot is mostly forested which reduces almost all of the noise from the nearby freeway (no noise noticeable inside). The host was very gracious and extremely kind to our shy dog. Easy to drive to locations throughout Victoria. Fun get-away!

Wonderful Stay at Idyllic Hideaway

My wife and I spent 4 nights there while visiting Victoria, BC - especially the Butchart Gardens, and the Abkhazi Garden and Tea House. Very comfortable and quiet, attentive host met us upon arrival, showed us around, and some great conversation. Located convenient to Rt 1 for easy access to anywhere. Beautiful gardens right at your VRBO doorstep, with many flowers in bloom, much to explore. Birds nesting, hummingbirds flitting, squirrels playing. Great to have trash, recycle, and composting available. Complete kitchen with full compliment of cooking accessories. Will stay here again, the nest time we visit Victoria.FYI: stairs to bedroom and bath - just for awareness.

A Delightful and Dog-Friendly Oasis with Stunning Gardens!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this VRBO property! The unit itself was delightful, providing all the comforts we needed, including a much-appreciated air conditioning system that kept us cool during the 30-degree heat. Our furry friend was welcomed with open arms, making it a truly dog-friendly experience. The owner was gracious and very accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed. One of the highlights was the access to a series of private gardens, teeming with a variety of flowers, birds, and even an owl! It was a serene and magical retreat that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and charming getaway.

Perfect little getaway

If we could rate this with more stars we would! My husband and I recently stayed here for a weekend (three nights) and brought our one year old dog with us. Callayna was a very warm, welcoming, and attentive host who was available for questions. She showed so much love for our pup, too. The suite was immaculate (especually the amazingly comfy bed) and the English garden setting was sublime. We would come back here in a heartbeat, if only for a chance to sip our morning coffee while watching nature's hum in the garden.

Home away from home!

I can thank Callayna enough for a wonderful stay in her exceptionally beautiful little house, taste- and artfully decorated, extremely well equipped kitchen, bath etc. - for me it was the perfect home away from home. Callayna is a very kind, helpful and uncomplicated host. Was always available and accommodating when needed but also respectful of her guest's privacy. I enjoyed this place for nearly a month and would come back in a heartbeat. Last thing that definitely needs mentioning, is the beautifully kept wildlife style garden. Even though the property isn't far from a Highway, its location and the big garden around, protects the place from all traffic noise. While having my coffee in the morning, I often could observe hummingbirds and other birds having their morning water sip right in front of the big window :) Hope to visit you again some time in 2023!
