Relaxing Getaway!

We had a wonderfully relaxing few day stay in Syria. The location is perfect for easy backside access to key trails in Shenandoah NP without having to go to Skyline Dr. The house is bright and well-equipped.

Wonderful property

We spent a peaceful (if rainy!) week here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This home is beautiful, bright, very clean and comfortable. This was by far the best appointed kitchen of any rental in which we have stayed (and we have used VRBO for many years on multiple continents). Highly recommend this home!

Perfect Getaway

This property is just what the doctor ordered! It had all of the important things covered, cleanliness, convenience, comfort, etc.. What sets this property apart from the others is the feeling of tranquility you get while staying there. The property is very private and the area around it provides excellent outdoor activities. Hiking trails abound nearby and are easy to get to. For a more challenging experience ask Michael about 4x4 trails in the area. Michael is a wealth of information about the area and is an excellent ambassador for it. I will definitely be staying here again!

Weekend Getaway Close to DC!

My wife and I just spent a weekend here, and we absolutely loved it! So many beautiful places to see. Plus, just a short drive from Culpepper (cool little town), and the hosts were as wonderful! A great place!

The house was just as described. The hosts have gone above and beyond to provide everything guests may want and need - the place is very thoughtfully planned and stocked! Super convenient location for where we planned to hike. Michael was super helpful. Highly recommend!

Mountain Cabin Retreat

Great retreat near Shenandoah

Was a wonderful trip to get a way for a few days and enjoy the outdoors. The host, Michael, is extremely friendly and knowledgeable of all the key places you’ll not want to miss out on. The home is beautiful, clean and quiet. I wish we had more time to spend and explore the area. Hoping to have a repeat trip in the future with more than three days to spend in the area. Thank you Michael!

Shenandoah Getaway

the house is absolutely terrific. it is extremely well kept, fully stocked, well appointed and comfortable. the grounds are beautiful and there is a peacefulness to the whole place. there were several hikes close by so the location is great. would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful, secluded hideaway near SNP

We just loved this beautiful home and the private setting. Most days we had deer and their fawns come eat from the apple tree while we enjoyed the screened porch. The home had every amenity we could hope for and it was beautifully decorated. The owners were wonderful and supportive even though our travel plans got rerouted several times due to airline mishaps. Supplies and a nice restaurant were 5 minutes away and more extensive choices were only 20 minutes away in Madison. But we especially enjoyed the easy access to Shenandoah National Park.

Perfect get-away, a true 5 stars!!

This home is immaculately clean, has many upgrades, is very comfortable and includes many amenities! Kitchen is fantastic! Host is friendly and has great attention to detail. Location was very convenient for excellent hiking, winery, tours, horseback riding, etc. this is a great stay!

We had a wonderful 3 day getaway

This house is very much more than advertised. Michael gave us a tour of the house which gave us a sense of what was available and where everything was located. The kitchen was well provided - not that we used it very much - we were out most of the days and got meal while we were running around. Everyone was impressed with the house and pleased that we Michael would share it with us. Thanks Michael.

Fantastic

It is difficult to completely convey how much we loved our stay. This is a secluded home at the end of a long driveway on a 30 acre lot - absolutely no street noise - in fact crazy quiet. The house was modern, relatively new construction and super clean. Hardwood and concrete floors are so much better than carpet. The kitchen had exceptionally modern appliances. The refrigerator was clean as a whistle. Plenty of pots, pans, silverware cutlery, you name it - we didn't need to bring anything. Plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, bath towels. The water was delicious. Hot water was plentiful. Bathrooms were amazingly clean. The property was extremely close to Old Rag (about 30 minutes) and the White Oak/Cedar run lower trailhead (15 minutes) - way better than the upper trailhead off SkylineDrive. Most other hikes off Skyline Drive are about an hour away along gorgeous winding rural roads with beautiful farms. I agree with the owners assessment that cell service is terrible but we did great with the satellite Wifi device - easy wifi calling, txt, emails, news etc. The backup generator actually worked during a very brief outage. We brought our own food so did not need a grocery although we passed several big stores (including an enormous Amish market) and gas stations along the way to Skyline Drive. I've never had a Vrbo host actually meet me in person upon arrival. This made us feel comfortable knowing she was within reach. Hands down the best Vrbo ever!
