We loved our stay. The view of the mountains and ocean from the balcony is beautiful. However the unit needs a few updates to improve the experience.

Family Spring Break

Relaxing stay with the family. Good location, plenty of pool space and easy access to the beach and all excursions. Well done.

Great location and resort

We stay in Kaanapali every year once or twice. This is the first time staying at this resort. It was a good experience for a good value.

Room was so spacious but you need to note that chairs and cooler are in the closet because we spent money that we didn’t need to. Kitchen was great, ice maker on fridge, big balcony (chairs have seen better days though). Property is amazing great pools, grocery across the street, fresh seafood market closeby. We will def rent at Honua Kai again!

Fabulous Resort

This was our first time staying in Kaanapali and we loved our time at Honua Kai. The resort is very well kept and the location couldn’t be better. Our condo was very well beautiful . The bed was very comfortable as was the couch. We had one small Issue and the management company dealt with it promptly. We will be back!

Had a fantastic stay at the Honua Kai. This was our 5th time at the resort. It’s by far our favorite place to stay on the island. While Maui Resort Rentals did excellent with their service and addressing our needs, the room itself needs a bit of help compared to what we are typically used to. Pros: great hybrid view of the mountains, directly overlooking the gardens/tikis. If you’re into sunrises, this is a great spot. Partial ocean view was great. We saw rainbows literally every morning multiple times. Complimentary valet is a nice perk of the resort, and you can’t beat the pools/waterslide/Dukes. Great bathroom, Cons: This room needs a lot of love. The carpet is definitely due for an upgrade, as it’s VERY loose and stained all over. There’s multiple maintenance issues we found like stained pillows/sheets. No first aid kit on site. Needs new door handles as they are all loose and rusted. The pull out bed was broken and wouldn’t go back into the couch. Drywall needs fixed in multiple areas, and outside chairs need to be replaced immediately. They are all falling apart. It’s very apparent that the owner of this condo hasn’t put much money back into the space and it needs a lot of new replacements immediately. Aside from the poor maintenance and broken furniture, our trip was excellent and Maui Resort Rentals did everything they could to accommodate our stay within their control. Would I stay in this room again? Probably not. But I would be happy to rent from MRR.

Convenient to beach

We ran into a small hiccup at checkkn when the provided code didn’t work. I called the after hours number at about 9pm and they had a security guard up to let us in within ten minutes. The apartment was just as described. It was great for us. The beach was perfect. We heard changing conditions can wash out the sand, but when we went (6/29- 7/3/23) the beach was perfect. The reef was about 15 feet from the shore at about 5 to 10 feet depth. We saw more turtles and fish snorkeling here then on the boat tour to Molokini and Turtle Town. Dukes was a perfect lunch spot. Overall a great experience.

Great location close to beach and central to kaanapali

The condo unit was exactly as advertised. Plenty of room, the sofa bed worked great, and we borrowed a portable bed too. Bathroom was large, fridge was full size, kitchen had everything we needed.
