The road up the mountain is a bit of a challenge for senior drivers , but the view is stunning. More beautiful than the pictures!

We loved our stay at Mountain View!The property is beautiful and there are views for days. It is well located to serve as a convenient base camp for exploring the Pisgah area and Blue Ridge Parkway. We certainly hope to return in the future!

We had a wonderful stay at the property! Absolutely stunning views and beautiful property grounds. The house was laid out perfectly for our group of 4 adults and two children. The kids had their own space in the basement and we never felt on top of each other. I will flag that the driveway up to the house is absolutely no joke. I would strongly suggest trying to come and go during the daylight. Greg was very communicative throughout our stay when a couple of things came up outside of their control. We will absolutely stay here again.

Come for the view, stay for the serenity. We spent every morning on the deck with coffee, just watching the clouds roll over the peaks. Inside, the space was comfortable, and well-maintained. It was the perfect base for our relaxation. Thank you, Greg and Karin, for a memorable stay!

Mountaintop Experience

This a fabulous vacation spot. The views and peacefulness are amazing. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. It has everything we needed and then some. There are many things to see and do in the area. We loved our time there.

Mountain Views

This was the perfect house for our stay with 6 adults and one child. We couldn’t have asked for better views or a better location for all we wanted to do and see. The owner went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend this property!!

The house was beautiful, clean, spacious, and had everything we needed, plus more. The views are amazing and the host was extremely communicative and helpful. My family would give more than 5 stars, if possible. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back!

Excellent experience

Beautiful surroundings, lovely and gracious owners. House and views even better than the pictures. The owners have taken great care in curating an experience with the guests in mind - house is very well stocked with supplies to allow for a worry free vacation experience.

A Wonderful Holiday

We enjoyed the week of Thanksgiving at this property. It was appreciated that the host had some firewood there to get us started. Additionally, there was a Christmas tree up to help us get into the holiday spirit. Best part of the experience were the host and their willingness to help out, provide guidance and quick responses to questions leading up to our visit.

Amazing place! Great condition. The pictures were spot on with the views and the accommodations.

Our stay was everything we imagined it to be. I would highly recommend this house for anyone that wants to get a real “Mountain View”. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The owners were easy to contact and responded timely. This is by far a 5 star rating and so much more!! Thank you Greg and Karin for sharing your beautiful home with us.

This was an amazing property! Our favorite times were spent in the rocking chairs on the porch looking out at the beautiful mountain view. The porch went all around the house and there were plenty of seating options. The house was extremely well stocked, more so than we've had in other VRBOs. We cooked all of our meals at the house. The kitchen was great and we used the grill a few times. Cozy living room with a fireplace. Spacious bedrooms. We didn't see any bears (fortunately), but we got to see some deer run through the property a few times. We had a fantastic time here.

Incredible Views and Relaxation/Chill Porch

Greg/Karin were amazing to work with. Always available. Easy check in/out process. The house was everything and MORE! Very comfortable. Great Kitchen with everything you would need. Saw deer in the backyard a few times. Very peaceful and tranquil once you arrived to the home. Will definitely stay again.

Outstanding (March/April 2024)

First of all the owners were extremely accommodating and gave plenty of information about the area and things to do. The house was clean and well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location and the view were spectacular, pictures don’t do it justice. The view from the firepit was amazing and we spent many nights making smores and enjoying the view. The downstairs area was perfect for our teenage son. Overall, could not be more pleased with the location, accommodations, and the house in general. Perfect getaway for our family!

Outstanding Views!!!

Look no further!!! The property description is accurate, million $$ views!!! Greg & Karin are perfect hosts. The communication leaves no question unanswered. Their home is stocked with everything needed & the pay it forward system allowed us to relax on our 1st night. The checkout system is also easy. If you are looking unobstructed views, privacy to recharge but minutes to town, this is the place!! Better than pictures can show…..

Best view in 18+ years of visiting the Smokey Mountains

Immaculate! Every detail accounted for and then some! Comfortable furnishings, lovely decor, better equipped with everything you could think of - then all of our years of staying the NC Mountains. The home was so comfortable and easy to relax in - we actually did fewer outings.. Nap by the fire, curl up with a book, pick from every game you can think of or just gaze at the view from a rocking chair on the porch(es)! We hope to have the opportunity to stay again! Sooner rather than later...

"Almost Heaven"

What an amazing week for our three generation family vacation! The view from the top of Cold Mountain was absolutely Stunning! We loved sitting on the porch in our rocking chairs watching the clouds float across the valley below and surround the mountain ranges spread out in front of us! The house was spacious and comfortably accommodated our family and friends from NY, FL, GA and NC. The firepit provided a cozy environment for listening to music and sharing stories. Greg and Karin were welcoming and reachable by text whenever we had a question. The house was clean and well stocked with amenities. Looking forward to a return visit! Claudia, MC and company

Amazing retreat with access to everything!

Believe all of the comments that say the photos do not do it justice! It would be impossible to be disappointed by the views. This home is perfectly secluded, yet close enough to enjoy all of our favorite places from Asheville to Maggie Valley to the Blue Ridge Parkway and more. It fit our 3-generation family very well, is welcoming and comfortable, and very clean and tidy. The home has absolutely everything you need and more - we took advantage of the generous amenities (more than fully stocked kitchenware, games/books, hammocks, corn hole, foosball, fire pit...) and love that they encourage a pay-it-forward approach on staples. Even better, the hosts are wonderful and have amazing communication! We're telling all our friends and we will be back!

Relaxation in the Clouds

We stayed at Greg & Karin's mountain retreat for a long weekend with my father and our son to relax and have time to spend together away from distractions (other than watching football). We took a leisurely route via the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a great way to see the surrounding area along the way. The house and the views couldn't be better. The open concept inside allowed us to be together while we cooked or sat by the fire. And the rockers on the wrap-around deck were perfect for cocktail hour. While there are many things to do in the area, we stayed put and just decompressed for a few days. This house is definitely at the top of our VRBO experiences. And Greg and Karin have hosting down to a science! Great early communication, as well as timely check-in/check-out details that were helpful.

Wonderful Experience!

Perfect 3 day mountain weekend! Greg and Karen were so friendly and accommodating and the house is big enough for an entire family. We arrived to a stunning mountain sunset with wine on the back porch. And the closest house was way down the mountain. Wish I could post pictures to share the view. There are lots of hiking trails, waterfalls, fishing, and shopping within a 20-30 min drive. The driveway is paved, but very steep. Any car will make it up the driveway without an issue, but if you are uncomfortable driving up steep, winding roads, you should let someone else drive. But the view and privacy up top is so worth it!

270 degree views of Blue Ridge Mountains from all around porches

This house offered the best views we have ever had with all around porches to enjoy them at any time of day or night. The house is the ultimate in comfort, spaciousness, quality, and cleanliness. The kitchen was stocked with almost as much as I have at home with all of the cookware, dishes and appliances you would need. The location was great for our trailered in motorcycle with easy trips to 6,000 foot overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Plenty of parking area for trailer and a garage for the bike. The owners were so helpful and attentive to every detail. Privacy and peacefulness made us not want to leave, even to visit the interesting stores and restaurants in Waynesville. We did make it to the Waynesville Farmers Market on Saturday to check out their local produce, crafts, and specialty foods. Asheville is not far away if you want to venture out. We look forward to staying again.

Great home with gorgeous views

Pictures cannot fully describe the views from this house. They are amazing. We had 9 in our party, 6 adults and 3 kids, and it was very comfortable. It's also secluded so we didn't have to worry about the kids screaming and playing bothering anyone else. Everything that you would need is in this home. We did a lot of cooking while we were there and the kitchen had every pan, plate, bowl or appliance that we could possibly need. On our last night there, New Year's Eve, we were able to watch the fireworks from the town of Canton, down below in the valley. We have never seen fireworks from above before so this was a great little surprise. The owners are great to work with and are awesome people. I would highly recommend this home and hope to be able to go back in the future. This home is by far, the best that we have ever stayed in for our annual family vacation!!

Better than the pictures.

We enjoyed the tranquility and awesomeness of the vistas at Greg and Karin's beautifully landscaped and well-equipped property. The inside of the house felt like the warmth of a well-loved home with comfortable beds and lots of places for families to gather and enjoy time with each other. Mountain views are available from every angle of the wrap around porch and the cool mountain breeze makes it easy to take a nap in the hammocks provided by our host. The property is very secluded and quiet, excellent for going on walkabouts with the dog, and the night sky is great for stargazing. We really enjoyed our stay and will make an effort to stay here anytime we're visiting the Asheville area. A short drive from the house is the city of Waynesville. It's downtown areas features excellent shops, art galleries, and delicious food. A short distance from downtown Waynesville is Haywood Barbecue. Our family sampled a large portion of the menu and were blown away by the quality. If you're planning on eating out and enjoy good barbecue, go there. We enjoyed our stay and were more than pleased with our trip because of the quality of this property.
