Barefoot Pelican | Stunning Beachfront Views

There is an awesome wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, which face the ocean in the living/dining room. This makes for a fantastic panoramic view. In the kitchen, there are Gulf views, 2 microwaves, fridge, oven, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. There is free Wi-Fi along with multiple HDTVs, cable, DVD, phone, and a fireplace. For all you old-school gamers there is a PlayStation 2.

This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath beachfront house that sleeps up to 10. There is a king-size bed in the Primary, a queen in the second, and 2 sets of bunks in the 3rd. There is also a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. Barefoot Pelican has central HVAC and ceiling fans throughout, with the exception of the bunk room.

Outside there are 2 decks, one upper (which goes around the sides of the house) and one lower deck. You can see the sunrise from the main deck and sunset from the side deck. There is an outdoor cabana shower with hot and cold water. If you don't feel like taking a shower, there is a handy dandy foot wash station to get "dem feet" clean. And when you're ready to brave the beach, you can mosey down either via a paved stone path or a shared walkover.

Come take a breather, unwind, relax, hang loose, sit back, chill out, take a break, cool off, loosen up, take it easy, put "dem feet" up, and have fun in the sun! We hope you come back again and again, to have a good time at The Barefoot Pelican!
Sea Isle is a family-friendly neighborhood, located on Galveston’s West End, that is highly sought after by families who love to swim, fish and cruise the island in golf carts. Sea Isle offers a public beach, seasonal community pool, bait shop, playground, tennis courts, a convenience store, restaurant and a bar.

Please Note: The Sea Isle Pool is open from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Guests must call Sea Isle HOA at 409-737-2438 to obtain pool passes. The pool passes are 10 for $100. They are open Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm.

The Barefoot Pelican is a great place to stay. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and exactly as advertised. The beach access is wonderful. The communication with the property management company could be a bit more clear as there were actually more amenities than listed in the emails.

Sisters trip

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend right on the beach! Especially enjoyed the outdoor shower and seating spaces! The only thing we thought was lacking was basic spices (salt and pepper) and the amount of toilet paper that was given for a long weekend

Great Views inside and out

Waking up to see the beach through the big windows in the living room each day was wonderful. We loved having direct access to the beach too. The house had everything we needed, including some fun beach toys downstairs and an outdoor shower to rinse off all the sand before going inside. It was a great spot to be with our family and make memories in Galveston together.

quiet getaway

This was a perfect place for a weekend stay. Beach directly in front of the house and a nice deck for watching sunrises. Perfect for a couple or a small family. Yes, the house has some wear and tear, as all coastal homes do, but nothing that would keep me from booking again! My only real complaint is that checkout is at 10:00 am! A couple more hours would have been nice, especially since we were very sad about leaving! The house has all the comforts of home--we really didn't need to leave for anything. Small grocery across the street for last minute needs. Very quiet as it is smack dab in the middle of two beach accesses so too far for most people to walk to--pretty much have the beach in front of the house to yourself.

Wonderful property!!

We loved our stay at Barefoot and the location was awesome! Beach was very private and the outdoor shower was a hit for a quick rinse after the ocean. We caught some pretty big specks in the surf (23"). The supermarket is across the street but VERY expensive. 12pk Michelob $20, case of water $7 so a trip to the grocery is worth the 15 minute drive. Room for improvement: The 2nd and 3rd bedroom windows have blinds you can't open so it's blacked out. We like natural light especially at the beach. There were rusty nails all over the deck and below. We must have picked up a couple dozen so wear your shoes on the deck like the sign says.

Too many issues.

When we first checked in the smell of mold was overpowering. The A/C wasn’t running at the time so we turned it on in the hopes that it would ventilate the house and lessen the smell. On the second day, the A/C quit working. The management company was great to work with and sent an HVAC company to look at it by that evening. Unfortunately the company didn’t have the part, so it couldn’t be fixed until the next day. On the third day, while we were still waiting for the A/C to be fixed, a pipe busted in the upstairs bathroom. Luckily our son was in the neighboring bedroom at the time and heard the water. The HVAC repairman was there at the time and the only way to stop the water was to shut off the water to the whole house. We cleaned up the water as best we could, but it started leaking through a light fixture in the downstairs. That’s when we decided it was time to leave. To their credit, the management company found us a comparable house to finish out our stay, but I wouldn’t recommend the Barefoot Pelican property to anyone until the water and mold damage is fully remediated.

No working dishwasher the entire trip

We discovered the dishwasher did not work the first night. We called the Ryson office and left a message to let them know. We did not receive a call back so I reached out again the next day. The service manager said someone would be out that day. He never showed. We called the next day and had to leave a voicemail. No one returned our call or sent anyone out to fix it. So we ended up having to wash dishes the entire vacation for our group of 7. In checking out, we brought up this issue again. The receptionist at the front desk said the manager would call to follow-up with us. We never got a call. I called back (twice), had to leave voicemails. Here we are over three weeks out with no phone call. Another warning is that the house is 25 minutes from the office. Check-in is at 3 and if you get there, even 15 minutes early, they won't give you the keys. So actually check-in into the house is actually 3:30. We are very disappointed in Ryson Vacation rental and will NEVER rent from them again.

I've had better

It would have been nice to know that you needed to go to the rental office to get the keys which is 22 mins from the house. The floor had areas that are going to fall through and the whole house needs major maintenance. The dishwasher was broken and had been broken clearly for awhile. The mattress are all about 20 yrs old and need to be replaced. Location was the redemption along with the patio and easy access to the beach. Would not book this house again.

Relax & Enjoy the Barefoot Pelican!

It was a wonderful place to stay right on the beach. It was easy to get to and such a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The view is amazing. It was raining all weekend that we were there, but because you are practically on the beach it was okay. One minor problem was sugar ants that we found when we got there, but other than that, it was wonderful!

First Galveston visit

We have gone to Port Aransas many time but decided to try Galveston. House is pretty much as pictured and described. Happy to find an outdoor charcoal grill there. Wish we brought our hammock. Location and decks awesome! We’ve already talked about returning. So here is the things o would want to know: We’re surprised with the “HOA” rules and such that some people seemed to be using our walk over as “public access.” They parked on street and walked over. Wish kitchen had tongs and more dish towels. There are no pantry items - not even salt and pepper. I prefer when basic pantry items are there and we replenish if we use something up. I did not realize that the road behind the house a main road - you can hear cars from bedrooms so if you a light sleeper you might bring noise machine or earbuds.

The Barefoot Pelican

We loved the extra deck, we sat out every night and watched the meteor showers, also you get a spectacular view of the Milky Way, the house has nice comfy furniture, bed were very comfortable, washer and dryer were great, very quiet, the only thing is I wished all 5 shutters on the windows in the living room opened, only 2 were allowed open, but that only made us go sit outside on the deck, the beach is clean and quiet, water was clear and you could see your feet when you waded out in the surf, love the outside shower with hot and cold water and the leg sprayer to get sand off of you, the Barefoot Pelican is the perfect set up, just yards from the water
