Oceanfront condo at Summer Winds Resort in Indian Beach, NC

AMAZING location – NEW UPGRADES made for 2024 season along with new cleaning team -- Top-floor 2-bedroom, 2-bath DIRECT OCEANFRONT condo at Summer Winds resort in Indian Beach, NC on the Southern Outer Banks. "The Captain's Oceanfront Escape" has a new Queen pull-out sofa in the living room this year. Front door is right outside elevator, with parking below in secure, gated complex. Beach is right in front of condo building.

The condo has two bedrooms, with a queen-size bed in each bedroom. The master is ensuite with access to the oceanfront balcony and new Furniture this year. Master bedroom is equipped with flat-screen TV. The second bedroom has views of the sound. In the second bedroom, there is an ottoman on wheels that converts to an extra twin bed if needed. New Couches in Living Room this year very comfortable and family friendly.

There is a bathtub in the hallway bath, perfect for kids, and we also have a pack-n-play available if you have little ones.

Amenities at resort include: Three outdoor saltwater pools with a large outdoor hot tub and baby pool; restaurant open in summer; gym with workout equipment; indoor pool with hot tub and sauna; game arcade for the kids; tennis courts and racket ball courts. Something for everyone. Perfect for families for a stress-free vacation at the beach!

This unit has been upgraded with new furniture, appliances and washer and dryer and is available to rent for week-long stays.

No pets, trailers or boats are allowed on the grounds.

It would be harder to get closer to the beach, which is a top criteria for me. Really spectacular views, so did not disappoint. Very quiet location (we went in October). Everyone we met at the complex was very friendly. The owner was responsive and helpful. If I had to pick anything that was less than excellent, it was that some of the glassware and silverware in the kitchen was less than clean (although the rest of the condo was quite clean) and had to be washed before using. All the appliances worked and looked new. We had a great time.

We were absolutely thrilled with the condo itself, the ease of everything, and Kevin’s warm and responsive communication.The pictures of the views are accurate but really don’t do them justice because they are that amazing. Summerwinds was clean and the staff/security were lovely. Great amenities both in and outside of the condo.Will definitely be back!! Thanks for a wonderful vacation!!

Indian beach 2025

We absolutely LOVED this condo! It was clean, comfortable, and had the necessities of home! The host, Kevin, was very nice and replied promptly to my questions. We would love to stay here again, the view is also amazing!

Can’t beat the view

At Summer Winds there are not nearly as many full ocean facing units. This is one of those and it’s up high, need I say more? We enjoyed our stay. The unit was as advertised and was clean. Elevator adjacent was nice, all pools and facilities were open and functional. Recommend; would book again.

Unit location was very good. Amenities were great for late season stay. Maintenance was an issue. Many light bulbs were out and elevator was down. We enjoyed the stay and do look forward to another trip in the spring. Thank you!

Ocean front condo with great view

Nice place to stay and would stay there again! Liked that the condo was near the pool with the bar and snack bar! Both were very affordable. Outside is very well maintained by staff. Elevators, pool area and walkway to beach were always clean and not sandy

Great location & incredible view!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The view from the balcony and living room window was incredible. The beds were comfortable and the living room space was great for all of us to gather. It was super convenient to get down to the beach -- just a couple of minutes to the sand. The condo complex pools were also great! There were a few hiccups -- the condo complex security wouldn't let us check in at first (they had made an error in their notes) and later on we had some trouble with the oven -- but the host & property manager were very responsive! We'd love to stay here again in the future!

Convenience and ease!!

This is our third year in same unit. It’s wonderful with kids. My son has a 2 1/2 yr old and 10 month old. I have had back surgery and hitting those golden years with arthritis. The ease of going down to the pool or beach is great. Very short walk. We can eat at Gingers and stay out all day with such ease. The bathrooms take the cake. So convenient!! Perfect spot to just relax. Also love location. Looking forward to next year already!!

Excellent location with plenty of amenities

The condo itself was clean, comfortable and with a great view! The location was excellent. The resort had 3 outdoor pools plus an indoor pool, a cafe to buy food, and walking down to the beach takes 2 minutes! Everything about the condo and the resort was great. It gave us a chance to not only enjoy the beach, but my 9 year old daughter enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools. Plus, she got to try out a hot tub/spa for the first time. We would definitely plan on coming back here. This was the first time visiting this area (Indian beach, Emerald Isle, and Atlantic beach). While I knew that restaurants in the area were mostly in Emerald Isle and Atlantic beach, I didn’t check in advanced that most restaurants close early…7pm, 8pm, 9pm. Also Sundays, and Mondays some places were closed. It was unexpected but Publix was 15 mins away and we were able to buy food there and plenty of groceries to cook instead. Highly recommend this rental!

Great location/lack of cleanliness

We’ve been staying at SummerWinds since 2003 & have had a fantastic time. Unfortunately, this premises did not meet our expectations. Upon arrival we found cleanliness to be lacking. The windows were dirty, smudged with handprints, looked like a child had ice cream in their hands & rubbed their hands on the windows. Needless, to say we washed the master bedroom slider & door to the deck window, both inside & outside. Because we were on the 5th. floor we were unable to clean outside of living room picture window, but did inside. The dining table has a glass cover that had to be cleaned to utilize for eating on, although appears a lot of smudges are on the underneath side? Also, photos show that each guest room both had televisions, but only the master had one, which would not turn on nor was their any operations manual. Towels were found in the dryer on our arrival. Floors needed to be washed, though we did find swifter mops in closets, floors also needed to be cleaned with soap & water. Overall, it looked like a lack of housekeeping to prepare premises for renters. On our 5th. day, we had started a load of clothes in washer, preceded to make breakfast on electric stove, when the electricity was shut off. We contacted the on-site HOA who advised that premises owner was made aware of this & had prior notice of this; it was owner’s responsibility to make sure renters were aware to prevent any inconvenience. Renters were not made aware of this.

The View!

The condo felt spacious inside. Huge couches for relaxing after a hard day vacationing. Plenty of Amenities of the complex were great with bar/grill adjacent to one of the pools. Best thing was the view! Amazing view that definitely made our vacation the best one yet. I told my wife it was worth any premium over other locations we rented. Host was easy to reach and very nice.

Great location

What a fun place and location. Close to everything. We loved the ocean and pool option. The beach was unbelievable. Kevin was very responsive. So much to do in the area. We will be back.

A little bit of updating to a few things would be nice. The main problem I had was four lightbulbs out in the kitchen one in the bedroom, and most of the wall sockets had an extra six socket adapter, plugged in and only one plug was working in two or three of those six plug adapters, otherwise everything was great. We had a great time and I would come back.

Our new “spot”!

Year 2 and we love it even more. Great location for our needs. There was soured laundry in washer and beds were not made. No biggie but thought you might want to know. Also I noticed a couple areas on the main bath ceiling that you may want to get checked. Looks like mold and possible roof issue!! We plan on rebooking for next year as soon as booking opens up!! Thank you for allowing us to rent your unit. I’ll probably be contacting you later about how to best go about finding a unit to purchase!

This is our family home, and we'd love to share it with you and your family to enjoy a piece of paradise on the Southern Outer Banks. You can either relax at the resort and on the beach with all of the amenities or explore the neighboring areas of Emerald Isle, the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores (only about a 5-min drive), Atlantic Beach or the historic town of Beaufort where Blackbeard once lived.

The Summer Winds complex is AMAZING. With all the amenities on offer, you'll keep everyone in the family happy! Relax at the pool of your choosing and order food and drinks from the restaurant window to eat outside or on the beach. At the game room, kids can play games to win tickets for prizes, and there is a free library to find a new book to read. You can also walk across the street for some of the top-rated shrimp burgers from a local food truck!
