True and Absolute oceanfront condo with a lanai (balcony) that almost hangs over the ocean. View the tide pools below where turtles and eels like to come to eat. Let the sounds of the sea lull you to sleep after your day of sightseeing or relaxing; both bedroom and living room face the sea.

Hale Kona Kai is a small complex of 39 absolute oceanfront condos in town, but off the beaten path! Located on a quiet side street and just a short block to the village of Kailua-Kona also known as Kona Town. Hale Kona Kai is only 1/4 block to Honl's white sand beach and 3 blocks to the Kona Farmers Market.

All condos are non-smoking. Hale Kona Kai is a non-smoking facility. Each floor has coin-operated washers and dryers for your use. Each condo does not have its own washer/dryer.

Fantastic view

Loved our stay in unit 307. Fantastic ocean view and easy walk to downtown Kona.We did get an email when landing in Hawaii that the central AC would be out all week in the unit. In the email they offered portable AC units if we wanted them (which we did). By the time we arrived they were already set up in the unit.

Nice Condo Old Building

The condo itself was fine, functional, and clean. But the building was very old. No Central AC only makeshift AC units in the two main rooms. Water pressure wasn't great. And overall the building just looked tired. But it certainly was smack on the ocean! Which was lovely.

Oceanfront Oasis

We were welcomed with a sweet note and gifts. The perfect place to stay right on the ocean and walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants in Kona. Can’t wait to return!

Gorgeous oceanfront view!

An older property. Could have been cleaner. Can’t beat the ocean views though! Walking distance to a cute little beach and downtown Kona. Had all the amenities.

Great place and management company very responsive.

I love the condo! Great location and price! On Christmas morning my hair dryer blew a fuse while I was cooking breakfast. I text and called management within minutes I received a text and the problem was resolved and my breakfast was done in time for my son’s arrival. Great service!

Great location off the main drag

We loved the area and everyone at the complex was very friendly. Staff on site were all friendly and helpful. Shorr walk downtown. The view is spectacular, sunsets right in front of you in December. Condo had all the items anyone would need.

Location Location Location

Walking access to all of Kona plus three great beaches! The pic's are accurate, the sound of the ocean and the cool breeze will lull you to sleep each night.

Property management not responsive.

I called and left a message on two occasions, no response from the property management co. One was because we lost power! I finally took it upon myself to find the fuse box and determined which fuse had tripped. The other call was to get a parking permit as required - again, no response.

Peaceful

This property lived up to it's advertisement on VRBO. The setting right next to the ocean provided the relaxing and soothing sounds and scenes hoped for and then some. The ac units worked well and met our expectations. The master bed was very comfortable and the sofa bed was as good as can be expected from a sofa bed. The location was perfect to attend the Luau next door. Parkibg provided.

Loved it!!!

This was an Amazing location. The condo had an great view i had my balcony, the pool, some black rock from te island and then a beautiful view of the ocean. Everything was close enough to walk to. Check in/out was super easy, very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you to the host and the staff.

Wonderful stay

The stay was incredible because of the location and rooms. I must say though that the very first impression when walking in, before getting to our wonderful room was the "office" that was funky before going out to the fabulous pool. It could really use a coat of paint and simply putting a battery in the clock. Also a battery in the clock by the pool. A small investment to smarten it up. Again first impressions really count!

Spectacular!

This is our second visit to this property and first to this unit. When you walk through the door prepare to be speechless, it’s that amazing! We sat on the lanai every morning watching whales breech in the distance. The music of the waves crashing in shore and magnificent sunsets every evening. You can walk to so many restaurants, coffee. Plus you get your own parking spot! We wanted for nothing. We’ll be back!!

Nice relaxing ocean front stay

Close walking distance to everything. Quiet place, always seating next to pool. Beautiful sunsets. Second year staying at this complex. We love it.

Property location is great other than tjat disappointed "tastefully renovated" a joke, stove, refridgerator, bathroom fictures all rusty kitchen cupboards had a coat of white paint slathered on them, calling it tatefully renovted is a joke at best

Nice and quiet condo

Convenient to town , walked everywhere. Clean unit , no problems. Nice view of ocean and pool. Would be nice to have an outside area with hose to wash bird poop off car, daily mess.

Nice place, terrific view and location. Sounds trivial, however, there was no shampoo, conditioner and one SMALL bar of soap. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

Great location and very clean

We appreciated that we could walk to many restaurants and attractions in Kailua-Kona from the condo. It is a very quiet location with great sunset views from the condo lanai. We appreciated the beach chairs and towels and snorkeling equipment made available as well. While we found the condo clean and comfortable, the furnishings were dated.

Can’t get a better location!

Seriously…ocean front, walk to town, quiet location. We fell asleep each night listening to the crashing waves. This is what Hawaii is all about! We slept well as the bed is very comfortable and the unit is very clean. Nice perk was some coffee beans and local treats! Beach chairs cooler sand towels were all included. The location really can’t we beat! The views are amazing! The off street parking spot is huge…practically impossible to park closer to town as a lack of spots….and it was very quiet when we visited. The only negative is the unit could use an updating. BUT…it is spotlessly clean, just dated. Definitely worth money spent.

Perfect Location and Gorgeous View

The Hale Kona Kai is well run and well maintained. It is perfectly located on the edge of town so you can walk to everything, but it feels quiet and secluded when you're there. Everything was just a advertised and the place exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay there again!

A Great Location.

A great location with a great view and comfortable furnishings. The only negative was the lack of AC in the main room. While the small AC unit in the bedroom was adequate, the main room was too hot to sit in from 2:00 pm 'til sundown. A second AC unit in the living room (as other units have done) would have been welcome. Nevertheless, we would absolutely stay here again.
