First they gave us the wrong combination for the door. All of the remotes didn't work. the lights for the dock didn't work. the air conditioner in the master bedroom would not function properly.

Great stay!

We enjoyed our stay here. House is close to beach and a short drive to the Sea Wall.

Cute little fishing cabin

We really enjoyed our stay. It’s an excellent location & directly across from West End Marina for a bite to eat, kareoke, shopping & bait camp!

Family Fishin’ Fun

We enjoyed being on the canal. Very close to Marina to launch the boat. Loved kayaking in and around area.

Wonderful time; only complaints are that the patio lights underneath did not work, and the front bathroom bathtub would not drain.

Fishing and fun

The good: my kids loved fishing on the canal. It was clean. It's got everything you need fishing supplies kayaks etc. we brought a kayak not realized there are 4 at the property!! The neighbors were really nice and friendly. There were games books galore in the house which helped while the weather didn't cooperate. There was a jacuzzi tub in one bath we enjoyed. My kids loved the house! It's a little out from Galveston beach about 20 min but there's a public beach across the highway from the neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay thank you!!

I would like to start with Ryson (VR Trips) is refunding me for my stay so I really appreciate that. Part of the issues lie with miscommunications by the company and the state of the home.There was a miscommunication that the keypad on the door was broken, so no code was given, and then the one that was given to both VRBO on my behalf didn’t work nor did the one given to me. Finally I was given access with a key. Lots of broken items in the home such as a Towel rack, flooring and the garage downstairs. Overall I think the house just had some electrical issues as lights would trip downstairs if too many things were plugged in. The fridge also didn’t cool even after 24 hours - which honestly it’s crazy to ask me to wait that long to use an amenity. I was eventually given a replacement fridge (shout out Helen) but that took almost 30 hours after arrival to get there and still had to cool down, and then had to be placed in the living room). Then today the cleaners were waiting outside our property 45 minutes before checkout and then entered the property before check out time when we went to go swing by marina because they assumed we had checked out early even though it wasn’t 10. The location is beautiful but overall I think maybe this property just needs a minute to reset and fix some very basic things for a person to have a comfortable stay. It was disappointing that I had to spend the majority of my first day on the phone with issues with both the company and VRBO.

Oh where to begin.... love the location and loved the property. We had the best time for our first times in Gavelston. Even though non of the lights on the canal worked, we called with no answer, on our first day there the fridge went out, I call everyday being promised a fix and left with no fridge until the day before our last day the freezer went out. That is when I called and talked to the sweetest one, Abbey I believe. She had a fridge there in an hour why did the rest not succeed and we went 6 days with out a fridge. They did pay us a compensation of 550 but that was to include 280 for groceries that we lost. Love the house and the area. Communication on property management needs so help.
