Beautiful Beach Retreat steps from Buckroe Beach!

No need to drive to the beach, you're already there! Steps from historic Buckroe Beach and Park, you will find calm waters, soft sand and lots of shells. This beach is on the calm, tranquil waters of the Cheasepeake Bay and is perfect for kids and families. In addition to being walking distance to the beach, the house is also a short walk to a park with pavilions available for reservation, grills for cooking out, a large playground as well as restaurants, a scenic pier, a fishing pier, a convenience store and many other anemities.
By car, the property is located only a few minutes from several grocery stores and a seafood market. Great restaurants & breweries can be found within 3-4 miles (pizza, seafood, french creole, mexican, italian and many more!) Also, knowing that is gets hot during the summer, each bedroom has a large ceiling fan to keep you cool while resting - afternoon nap or at night!
There are Jetski rentals, concessions and ice cream available throughout the summer on the newly renovated boardwalk. On Saturday mornings throughout the summer there is a farmers' market with local produce, crafts and food across the street in the park.
Walking distance to Buckroe Beach. Driving distance to Grandview Beach, Outlook Beach, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Williamsburg, Bush Gardens, Watercountry USA, the Virginia Aquarium, the Virginia Zoo, Fort Monroe, Hampton University, Christopher Newport University and Old Dominion University.

Perfect kid friendly house for attending a family wedding in Hampton

This property was located right next to Buckroe beach and was a great place and location for our family to gather before attending a wedding in Hampton.

Family Get Together

This property rental is great for family get togethers. The house is impeccable and roomy to house a large family of all ages. The plus is it is right across the street from the park and the beach. Great house rental for family get together to make memories and have a wonderful stay. The renters were responsive and very accomodating.

Perfect vacation house for families

We spent a week in August at the Blue Crab House and loved our stay. The house was clean, well equipped with a spacious kitchen and living room. Ample space for our family of 4 adults and 4 teenagers. Morning coffee on the balcony was awesome! The beach is less than 5 minutes walk from the house. Everything was perfect.

Great house on a beautiful beach!

We had a great time, the house was very clean and owner was very helpful, even recommending good places to eat. It was a great location, only a block away from the beach. The house was spacious and easily fit the 10 of us, and had toys and games for the kids to use. I would recommend it 100%!

July 4th week - retired Military family

We had a wonderful stay over the July 4th week. The place was spacious and location to Buckroe Beach was so nice to be close and walking distance. The house fit our 3 generations nicely. Staying at the Blue Crab Beach House was much better than getting separate rooms at a hotel. We could cook/eat together and relax together under one roof. Errol was an amazing communicator and was texting me BEFORE I needed anything - which was wonderful. Thank you for welcoming us into your home. We treated it as if it were our own!

Great location!

We had 7 adults and 3 children in our group for a long weekend trip. We were able to walk to the beach in the morning, come back to make lunch, then return to the beach for the afternoon every day. There was also a park across the street that had a craft fair on Saturday. Host was great and easy to communicate with. All in all it was a great getaway.

Amazing home

This home is exactly as was described. It was perfect for our family get together. Incredible home with the perfect amount of beds and space. Easy and close beach access. Couldn’t have asked for more! The hosts were incredible at suggesting places to eat and stores to visit. Highly recommend!!

Excelllent Stay

It was such a great experience staying here. The hosts were great at working with us and helped us with everything during our stay and even with the app. I can't recommend the property and its hosts strongly enough!

Extra house for extra company

Needed a little extra space for our family Easter with our daughter’s family that lives close by. It was well stocked, clean and had the amount of bedrooms as in the description. Easy in and out with the key pad. Worked perfectly! Short walk to the beach!

Family Visit

Great property and easy to follow instructions from owner. Was visiting our son in Hampton and had my parents join us from North Carolina. Perfect place to stay in Hampton with lots to do and see. The beach was just across the street and an awesome park. Will surely stay again in the future.

Trip to Hampton coliseum

Property had everything you need and was in a great location. Short walk to the beach. Short drive to good local food options. The person running the place was a great communicator and super accommodating. Would definitely recommends staying at this property and I'm already considering another trip!

Blue Crab Buckroe Review

We had a wonderful stay. The house is decorated nicely and is very spacious. Also, we have rented many houses and this kitchen is the best equipped kitchen we have ever had. Our host was very friendly and promptly responded to any questions we had. We would definitely rent again.

The Buckroe Blue Crab Delivers

Very nice house and gracious host, and everything was as advertised - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We typically vacation closer to the ocean but for family reasons we stayed on the bay this year and while our beach time decreased, we took advantage of several other local sites. The area has a rich history and some great biking trails within 20 to 30 minutes: Fort Monroe is a short bike ride to the south, the Virginia Air & Space Museum is very cool, the Yorktown Battlefield provides a great leisurely bike route and the Mariners' Lake Mountain Bike Trailhead is awesome (check out the bamboo forest). The Buckroe Beach is a short walk across the park and Virginia Beach is only about 40 minutes away, if you avoid the high traffic hours.

Great for families!

This was a beautiful property in a beautiful location! I loved that there were toys and games available for kids, especially since it ended up raining most of the week we were there and we didn't get to spend as much time at the beach as we had hoped. As for the nearby beach, it was really great for kids and families. We had a wonderful time and will hopefully come back again!

A JOYFUL Stay!

I chose this house and location for a women’s retreat on JOY and it exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful place to stay with so many amenities and lovely rooms and porches. It is steps from the beach and beautiful boardwalk. Our host Errol was incredible. I was so grateful for his excellent communication before, during and after the stay. Such a lovely stay!

Disappointed Family Stay ☹️

I am writing this review about my stay at the Blue Crab located in Buckroe Beach Hampton Virginia. I rented this property for the dates February 10th - February 13th , where I was having family members stay and visit. I did not expect the harassment we received from the owner!!! This made our stay horrible and we were made to feel unwelcome!!! I will be writing a full review to customer care about this property!!!

An overall lovely rental.

The property was great. Wonderful location just a couple minutes walk to the beach. I rated this a 4 instead of 5 because of a few things that were missing. No bureau or night stands in the loft bedroom and the a/c unit dripped. We had to empty water that collected in a bucket. There was no tv in the master bedroom. For those who cook meals, the kitchen could use some additional pots and pans and a Keurig coffee machine. Also the stove was finicky and sometimes the pilot clicked when the large burners were used. We communicated some of these issues to our agent who was quick to respond with suggestions. Not perfect but Overall a great rental.
