Winnipesaukee waterfront in Meredith with fabulous newer addition! This super family retreat is located at the mouth of a sheltered cove with immediate access to the open lake! Fabulous sunsets. Wireless internet. 4 bedrooms plus a bunk bed in the lower level (separated from the family room by a room divider). Deck and patio area, nicely landscaped yard, 2 docks for up to two 21' boats. Make this charming home your vacation spot!! A small dog may be allowed with owner's approval and $175 pet fee. Please ask about bringing your dog at time of booking.
New for 2025: Mini-split A/C units on the main floor (living area/dining/kitchen) and primary bedroom on second floor.
Max: 3 cars.
LINENS: Please note: Sheets and towels are not included with this rental. If you would like to rent sheets and/or bath towel packages from At The Lake Vacation Rentals, the cost of sheets (including arrival bed making) for this home is $175. Towel packages are $12 per person and include 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and 1 washcloth. Please let us know at time of booking if you would like to rent sheets and bath towels as availability is limited.

Great rental property

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is amazing. This is our second year in a row staying there. The location of this house is incredible. They added AC to the main living area which is great and definitely made the stay a lot more comfortable. The only additions that would be nice is more AC in the upstairs because it got really hot up there on the warmer days. Also a more stable dock, it felt somewhat unsafe. Other than that, we will definitely be back next year!

Had all the kitchen equipment you would need to cook for the family for your stay. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Would like to see a washer and dryer installed for next time and not being able to put the air conditioner units below 70 was tough as the upstairs bedrooms were very hot. Other than that I would highly recommend this property.

Great waterfront rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I really enjoyed our stay at 129 Roethal. The house is large with room for everyone and is also well stocked. The swimming was great! A couple of suggestions for making everyone’s stay even better: 1) it would be great if you had some water toys like a canoe, rowboat or paddle boat, and 2) the house really needs air conditioning (especially in the bedrooms). For most of our stay, it was sweltering and the fans just didn’t do enough to cool us off and allow us to sleep. Other than those suggestions, we really enjoyed our stay.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home has a great location! It's easy access to amenities in Meredith and in a great quiet inlet on the lake. The home was clean but could use some updates to be more comfortable. Including access to washer/dryer and new mattresses. Also the basement houses a bunkbed but with the mildew smell I wouldn't put anyone down there overnight. Overall we had a good stay spending time as a family and enjoyed the easy lake access.

Nice quiet cove, unbearably hot and beach area mucky

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have been vacationing with At The Lake for several years now and have never had a check in experience like I had this year. Though I know the check in time is 5pm the homes we have rented have always been ready to go hours before and therefore I sort of planned on this occurring again. The house keys were not available until 4:30 and when we got to the property the cleaning people were still in the house so we had to wait outside until they were done. This really caused us to loose our entire first day on the lake to include a family reunion we had planned to make it to much earlier in the day. The cleanliness was marginal and possibly the cleaners were trying to rush to finish but the refrigerator had not been cleaned and had remnants from the previous tenants, not a pleasant find after finally getting into the house and trying to unpack the food we had in coolers for several hours at that point. The house was extremely hot and had minimal fans, the one small fan they had in the kitchen/dining area did not work. We had to go and buy fans the next morning it was so unbearable. I have always stayed in houses on the lake that do not have air conditioning so not sure why this house in particular was so unbearable. There is no washer or dryer to use which is really needed when using bathing suits and towels daily. Additionally the swim area right in front of the property is very mucky and has many large spiders. I understand the spiders really are not within the control of the owner but cleaning the muck right in front of the house would be a great improvement. Loved the quiet cove and the location on the lake. The house also had ample sleeping arrangements which was also nice.

The only issue we had with the house was somebody dropped the ball when it came to our towels and linens. Paid for the package and discovered there were none there. Called Sue at the realtors' emergency number and she was Johnny on the spot with our sheets and towels. Other than that, it is a great place to stay. This is our second year there and will be returning for a third.

Great House

Sadly the house does not have AC and does not allow you to bring in your own so when it hit 90+ for four days it was unbearable at times. Also not a kid friendly location as there is no yard to play in and it sits right on the water with no beach area for young kids to play in. Otherwise a great stay.

We had a wonderful time with our family, loved how the bedrooms were upstairs so people could sleep if they wanted and have others still up having fun. Noticed the house had ac vents but there was no ac, in the hotter months could be very uncomfortable sleeping so hot. The house had all the appliances and utilities one could need. The dock needs some serious attention, had rotted wood and boards about to break. We brought our own gas grill , the house came with charcoal grill. Overall a wonderful vacation and would go back again.

Mentioning the following because I wish i had been given this 'heads up'... when we arrived at the house, there was no toilet paper (not a square), no paper towels / napkins, no salt or pepper, no hand soap, no dish washing soap, no hair dryer. Been renting summer/winter places in and around MA and NH for 30+ years now and never experienced that. Had to run out to the store pretty much immediately. When the week was over, we left all that stuff plus a few cold beers in the fridge (as we usually do). Hope they were there for the next renters. Just a few dollars for the basics makes a big difference.

The house itself is quite nice, but its only been partially renovated. There may have been a previous reno done, but it was some time ago. The main living areas, the master bedroom, and the 2nd/3rd floor bathrooms have been done, but the other 3 bedrooms look older. They're not bad, just noticeably not as nice as the rest. The grounds could use some work, the docks are very much showing their age. The landscaping is nice overall, but they're using red bark mulch everywhere near the water, which makes walking outside painful if you're barefoot. Overall, I'd still go back, but I am keeping an eye on other options.

The kitchen had everything I needed and I was pleasantly surprised by that. The house was the perfect size for our family. It was located in a quiet cove close to things by boat or car. We would go this route again for sure. The upstairs shower had no hot water and the smelly dumpster off the driveway were two small issues we had. But overall it was a wonderful week and we loved the house.

Reviewer Comments: Our rental experience has been at the South New Jersey shore resorts so the lack of a washer and dryer was an unwelcome surprise as was the lack of wifi when so many of our group needed to check in with their offices. The good news is that the view of Tommy's cove and the sound of the loons was beautiful and so relaxing. Would have loved A/C for those muggy nights but the fans helped.
