This is a short-term vacation rental.

Welcome to Hale Alapi'i, our home in fabulous Lanikai!

This is a 3b/2b ~1,400 sq. ft. main house that sleeps 4 adults or 2 adults + 2 kids comfortably, on a slight uphill to enjoy beautiful Hawaiian scenery, tropical birds and island breezes. It has been recently fully renovated and has all the necessities to enjoy a wonderful vacation for an extended family.

The studio with queen and full bathroom (350 sq. ft.) accommodates 2 extra people and rents for an additional fee.

The house is 3-minute walk from a little beach and water access for snorkeling, swimming or kayaking to the Mokes. It is a 10-minute walk from the world famous Lanikai beach.
You can see the Lanikai Pillbox from our backyard. The trails' access point is 2 blocks for a great hike and gorgeous views of the Windward shore.

We list our property across a number of channels so please contact us regarding the availability for desired dates.

We've been back home for one week and we can't stop talking about it. Everyone loved the house, the accommodations, the location, and Irene's hospitality and support - she's thought of everything! It was our favorite vacation to date, and we will definitely want to do it again - 10/10!

Great Gem Near the Beach

My family and I really enjoyed Irene's place! It was well accommodated and had many of the things that you need, but likely forgot to pack/ plan. Every room has a fan, which is nice, but if you need AC, you'll prob want to look for another location. Overall, a great stay!

Great Place!

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The host treated us very well! She provided tips for the 4th of July. She extended our check-out because our flight was delayed. The property was just as the pictures show.

Amazing property in Kailua

This is a beautiful home. Everything you need is there to cook (or not), go to the beach and relax. You can walk to beautiful beaches and snorkel. Or do yoga on the grass. I cannot say enough good things about this home. Do not miss the opportunity to stay here. Thank you!

Visiting paradise

Property was jus as advertised and pictures were very accurate. Property had everything you need for a great stay. Very clean and well appointed. Just a couple of blocks from wonderful beach with multiple access points. We had to make a last minute change and the owner was extremely patient and cooperative. Highly recommend.

Couldn't ask for nicer.

Super residential area within walking distance of amazing beach. Home is lovely with top quality amenities. We particularly liked all the beach equipment and the private back yard. Far enough from the bustle of Honolulu, but easy to get to for day trips. Had an issue with ice maker so owner had ice delivered and was very attentive to our needs.

Mini Family Reunion

This home away from home is filled with Aloha! The Studio APT was perfect for my older brother and wife when they needed a break from our young grandchildren. Plenty of room for visiting, dining and cooking together as a family. You can watch the sun rise from the balcony with a cup of tea or coffee. Or, a short walk down the road to enjoy it from the beach. The kitchen has everything you need to enjoy meals at home.The grill was an added bonus. Spent evenings on the patio furniture catching up with family. The ocean breeze and ceiling fans kept the house cool. Everything seen in the photos is accurate. The host was wonderful, answered all our questions and even checked on us after we checked in to see if we needed anything. Thanks Irene! We will visit again. Mahalo

Outstanding Stay of a Lifetime

Have been to Oahu multiple times, mostly Waikiki side, but not until now have I had the true ohana experience. The house is undersold by the pictures and description since it can easily sleep 9 people. My dream is getting the host to be my new bff; just a lovely person. The neighborhood is one of the most exclusive on the island. All of the beaches in Oahu are public, but some are so difficult to reach they might as well be private; the 2 minute walk from the house presented us with over a mile of white sanded isolation. There was only a 20 minute walk to the famous Kailua beach where the family kayak'd to Popoia Island and hiked the famous Lanikai Pillbox all of which can be seen from the lovely home. The only true downside is that I hope this review doesn't overbook the home since my dream is for this to be my new May residence.

Hale Alapi’i

The property is fantastic. We would definitely stay at this location again. Outdoors: Immaculate oasis in the backyard. They provide a grill, umbrella, and everything you need for the beach. There is a wagon to haul all of the beach stuff as well. Towels, chairs, and kids sand toys. There is a hose right as you enter the front gate. This was a great feature as you can wash the sand off your feet/shoes, etc before walking up to the stairs. We also arrived late at night one of the nights and there are motion lights so you can easily find your way to the door. I would highlight, there are 8 steep stairs to climb in order to enter the house (and carry your luggage up). If anyone in your party has mobility constraints, this may be a concern for you. Indoors: The house is very clean and well maintained. It is also stocked with all of the essentials. We love the 'pay it forward' style (if you use it, replace it for the next guests). Plenty of room for everyone in your party to visit, relax, and have meals. As noted, they do not have air-conditioning, but they do have great working ceiling fans in each room as well as a standing fan. We stayed in the month of February, so the weather was a mild 75 degrees. We still leveraged the fans and opened the windows for the nice trade winds to cool the home. Mahalo

Perfect in every way!

The home was immaculate, well-put-together, and comfortable. It was perfect for our extended stay in Oahu. The neighborhood was quiet, and beach access was blocks away. After visiting Waikiki and Honolulu, it was pleasant returning to Lanikai with its lush flora and relaxed atmosphere. Nighttime strolls through the neighborhood were enjoyable and peaceful. Our stay included the back cottage so we could accommodate twin teenagers, maternal grandfather, paternal grandmother, husband, and me. We cooked and BBQ with ease. We appreciated using the beach chairs and towels; it was easy to wash the beach clothes in the convenient washer and dryer. The bathrooms were clean and designed well. I can't say enough great things about this home; the owner is terrific and promptly responded to our questions. Our first family trip to a Hawaiian island was fantastic, thanks partly to these beautiful accommodations! We would definitely stay here again!

Lanikai stay

The property is very clean, like new and beautiful, close to the beach. The host is very responsive. You can park your car on the driveway. The neighborhood is quiet and upscale.

Fantastic Home Away From Home

Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful property! We also rented the detached studio, which provided us additional space to spread out. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. Lanikai Beach, the closest beach to the house, was stunning. Finally, we couldn’t be more impressed (and grateful for) with the communication and responsiveness of the property manager—the best we’ve ever rented from!

Wonderful property

This was a very enjoyable stay at a very nice home. The location to necessary facilities and the surrounding community were absolutely great. The property manager was just a gem to deal with and all information provided was extremely accurate. This is an A+++ vacation spot in a friendly and quiet neighborhood.

We fell in love with Hawaii when our kids were super young and always wanted to have a home on these beautiful islands. Oahu seemed like a perfect place for our active family. Hale Alapi'i is a dream come true for us, and we are happy to share it with friends, family and guests.

Hale Alapi'i is located on the best (in our opinion, and all neighbors agree) street in Lanikai next to the most beautiful beach in Hawaii. You can enjoy peaceful mornings, active days on the beach and island exploration, and amazing evenings filled with Hawaiian breezes, scents and stars.
