This place was absolutely amazing! The pictures do not do it justice. It was the perfect spot for our 2 year old to have the best beach time with amazing views during nap time! It’s a must

Mauna Kea Residences

GREAT place to stay. In a hotel, but NOT in a hotel! The unit we stayed in was great, super clean and very convenient to hotel amenities. I would stay here again for sure.

Great Hapuna Beach Location

Ideally located at beautiful Hapuna Beach. Very clean condo with large master suite. Comfortable sitting areas with great views. Enjoyed Westin restaurants which were conveniently located next door to the condo.

This condo was exactly like the pictures show and more! The view was spectacular all day and sunset. The unit was clean and well maintained. Beach, pool and resort access was great -- condo living with resort amenities. I can see why this unit is always sold out.

the condo exceeded every expectation. My husband and I have been coming to Mauna Kea for years but with our growing family we wanted to find more space than a traditional hotel room, but also wanted to be right in the mix with everything we’ve always loved about the location. We could not have been happier with our decision, we had the best week ever. It was the best of all the worlds - more space resort amenities. From kids to grandma who joined us, we were all comfortable and found that there was something for everyone. The view is breathtaking and the condo was immaculate. Super easy to walk to the pool and/or hop on the shuttle (golf cart) to go over to Mauna Kea. The master bedroom was huge - probably the size of a usual hotel room. Our family of four slept in there with a rollaway for our toddler and a crib (rented separate from a company provided by the property manager) for the youngest. The bunk room worked perfect for a solo adult. The beds were comfortable, the couch massive, and from check in to check out everything was simple and low fuss. We can’t wait to return!

Big Island Bliss

Such a beautiful and comfortable unit with stunning beach views and sunsets. We loved it so much the first time that we booked again for the next year. Access (for a fee) to the Westin and Mauna Kea resorts is incredible. It’s a five star experience.

Stunning property

This property is gorgeous! So beautiful and comfortable with straight on beach/ocean views. Doors full open into wall for an indoor/outdoor experience. It’s stunning and perfect. Loved the easy access to the Westin Hapuna as well. Can’t wait to visit again. Xo

Spring Break 2023

We had a fabulous time at the Hapuna Beach residences! Tons of space for our family of 5. The view from the retractable doors was stunning!! Grateful for the access to the amenities at the Westin and Mauna Kea (didn’t get a chance to check out that facility though).

peaceful retreat

We have stayed at this property prior to it being turned into private condos. The location is the best on the big island. The sunsets from this property were amazing. If we could have stayed longer, we would have. The amenities and the beach are perfect. Snorkeling from right outside from the beach was perfect. No reason for excursions when staying at this property. We will be back.

Stunning condo with unmatched views and perfect for a family of four. The condo is equipped with high-end appliances and decor and is situated next door to the neighboring Westin Hapuna and its amenities. While you need to purchase a pass for the Westin and Mauna Kea, it is absolutely worthwhile. We will return again, no question. Communication on how to enter the condo could have been better and since we were checking in late at night, we were a little concerned. In the end though, the property manager called a couple of times and we got what we needed in time.

Perfect Spot

This is a GREAT spot in all respects. First, everything spotless. Communication was virtually instantaneous on any questions. They even managed to get us in to the unit two hours early, which was incredibly appreciated! There is everything you need in terms of supplies,and also a decent assortment of oils, spices and sundries that it is helpful not to have to buy. The unit has an awesome view of the beach and we spent every morning sipping coffee on the balcony. Beds were comfy, huge TV, and a truckload of beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. Washer/Dryer were very useful though they only handle small loads. We would definitely return, and would definitely be very happy to work with South Kohala Management on this ir any other rental. Thank you!,

It really is as amazing as it looks!

Tasteful, soothing interior finishes, very comfortable furniture, best view EVER from either balcony, and listening to the waves while falling asleep and awakening is pure magic. Very well appointed kitchen, though a welcome perk would be some basic things such as olive oil, sugar, soy sauce, but can also appreciate potential concern about hygiene. LOVE the beach chairs and the WAGON was a wonderful surprise to transport groceries from the car, and beach gear to various beaches, not just the beach outside the condo.The resort is beautiful, spacious. Lots of cozy nooks to sit quietly and take in the view, read, contemplate life, on swinging benches, chairs, and various other comfy furniture in the open lobby/terrace areas, all were usually unoccupied. The fitness center was a nice surprise, well kitted out with 24/7 access. The outdoor lounge furniture on the deck outside the fitness center was an unexpected surprise and lovely garden-style area to just spend time, read, or work on the laptop.Highly recommend this unit, the management, and the resort.

Beautiful Condo w/a Gorgeous View

Our stay in this property was great overall. The condo is lovely, nicely furnished, well managed by the property management company. The view is truly gorgeous, looking directly over a lawn and then onto the ocean. The second bedroom is very, very small - suitable for sleeping only. The master bedroom and bath are huge and beautifully appointed. The only issue we had during our 6 night stay was with the Westin Hapuna, for which we purchased resort access during our stay for $110/day. The Westin was hosting a company retreat, and as such some of the amenities that should have been available were not. For instance, there was no restaurant available for breakfast at the resort and the mediterranean restaurant was closed for private function a few of the nights we were there. There were also two outdoor private concerts, which lasted until 10pm and were very loud. Fortunately we have teenagers and these weren't a big problem for us, but I'd have been very unhappy about the price we paid for resort access if we'd had small children. And unhappy about the price we paid for the condo if we'd been counting on full access to the resort and its services. I suggest the property management company fully disclose dates that the resort services will be diminished if they can wrangle that information out of the Westin and allow renters to cancel in the event that they aren't satisfied with reduced access to the resort.
