Great place.

This is a great little cottage. Perfect for 5 people. It was extremely clean. The host was very responsive & quick with the responses. Would definitely recommend.

All the bells and whistles!

This property has everything a person could need to have an enjoyable stay--beautiful screen porch, lawn games, campfire pit with wood, board games, air hockey, childrens' books, outdoor grill, well-appointed kitchen, etc.We will definitely stay here again.

Cozy place to stay

A wonderful place to stay when visiting friends/family. Well organized to help to make your stay as worry free as possible. Would definitely reccomend to people loolong to stay in the area.

Great stay

Great property! We could have cooked things without getting spices and those other staples that you need in small quantities. Very clean. Would definitely recommend. My only suggestion would be some table lights in the living room.

Nice little spot

Nice house, rooms very acommidating. East ti get in and out of. Very minor, but some of the lightsin the living room and dining room we led lights that flicjered pretty stedily and werent very bright at night so we hung out elsewhere. Everything else was great!

ISU Visit

We had a lovely time down visiting my daughter at ISU. The property is so close to ISU. This is our second time staying at the property. Our host left us fresh donuts and pastries. The house was perfect, beds were comfortable, and we loved playing air hockey in our spare time. Looking forward to our next stay here

Short Stay

This house a perfect place to stay at. As we had a dance competition at ISU. Perfect distance to everything we needed. Everything was clean and comfortable. Thank you for a great stay! We will be staying again!

A good place to stay

Overall the rental was what we were looking for - close to our loved ones, a safe and clean space to lay our heads at night, etc. The only disappointment was in the master bedroom - the listing says it is a King bed and it definitely is not, and the mattress topper was spilling over the edge of the box spring and the box spring was maybe breaking/broken? If you got too close to the edge you risk falling out, but to move more toward the middle you sunk down. With that improvement we would stay again!

Perfect for our family trip

This place was clean, comfortable and affordable for us. We traveled with our three teens to visit a friend in town and then drive down see the total eclipse. It felt like coming home after our road trip. Check-in was easy and the hosts had some wonderful extras to make our stay even better. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others as well!

Labor Day Family Wedding

Had a family wedding in Eureka. Many relatives live in Bloomington-Normal area. Also had family flying in from Seattle and Florida. This was a convenient location for us. Very enjoyable stay. Thanks so much for letting us stay here!

Sanctuary on a tough weekend.

We had a group of family/friends in town for a funeral and celebration of life. The house was a perfect base for us, we especially enjoyed the back porch. We had two couples and a single (plus an extra for one night) and it was very comfortable. I was especially grateful for some of the small details, like the box of donuts they left and the fact that there were plenty of hangers in the closets. Julia was very responsive when I had questions, and all the details of checking in and out were smooth and easy.

Fabulous place

This house was one of the cleanest rentals we have ever used. It was in a great area and close to the events that we were in town for. Every little detail was perfect along with all of the extra perks that you don't always get with a rental. We will without a doubt book this location again if we need a place to stay in Bloomington.

Beautifully preserved nastalgic home!

This beautiful home has original cabinets which includes a flour bin with the metal lid that slides back! I remember these from my childhood! I love how the owner has kept some original features while converting the home into a modern comfortable home.

Loved the firepit

Everything went very smooth. Loved that all the closets had tons of hangers. The back screened porch was great too. Towels and sheets nice quality. Close to grocery store and a park with a mile path around a lake. Very quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed having a fire in the firepit.

Charming House, Awesome Neighborhood!

Overall, the listing is accurate. The house is very cozy. The beds were nice and comfy too! It is lived-in, not totally 100% upgraded and fancy but it is a great price for what you get. The owner was also super professional and they had lots of instructions printed in the house to help with things like turning on the shower, how to use fireplace, that kind of stuff. The only thing I was worried about when reading the listing is how the neighborhood would be. That's just something that is hard to determine from house pictures. And it isn't a particularly fancy house so one might worry whether it is in a good area. But it is perfect! The area seems very suburban and family friendly. Quiet and peaceful, easy access yet very little traffic. It is also right off the highway and close to restaurants and stuff. There is a grocery store extremely close-by. I want to say like half a block but I can't remember for sure. I also enjoyed the parking situation. It was very convenient that there was a driveway, parking and garage behind the house so that I didn't have to park on the street. If I'm ever back in the area I'd stay there again.

Brian and I have lived in the Bloomington/Normal area for 29 years. This community is very welcoming with many local attractions and is perfectly located in between St. Louis and Chicago. Illinois State University is where it all began for us, and we fell in love with the area. We enjoy camping and travelling. Our 5 children keep us busy with their various activities.

We have recently purchased this home from our good friends, Lonni and Katherine, with whom we co-hosted this property for the past 4 months. We strive to go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Please reach out if there’s anything additional we can do to make your stay even better.
