Just after golden sunset, the mountain winds have a cool, sage-brush and cedar fragrance. The night sky is deep and dark; stargazing here is spectacular. Listen for owls, elk or coyotes. Listen closely to wind in the canyons; you may just hear the timeless echo of galloping hoofbeats, as deparados such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid make a getaway from their latest heist.

This property pays homage to folklore and legends surrounding The Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, and iconic Old West stories that revolve around clashes between the law and the outlaw. (The “hole” is a pass eroded in the Red Wall sandstone escarpment of the Big Horn Mountains that was used secretly by Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch Gang in the late 1800’s.)

Rafting, fishing, hiking and cycling are popular in summer and fall. In winter, ice climbing and world class skiing are easily accessible. This is a rural property just a few miles outside of Cody (About 2-3 miles from the edge of town and 4 miles to downtown) It's about .5 miles off the main highway on a dirt road. It’s safe, quiet, private and scenic with gorgeous mountain views. The neighbors are all permanent residents, some have horses, and ranches. Cody, Wyoming is often referred to as “Cody, Yellowstone” simply because of its proximity (just 52 miles) to the East entrance of Yellowstone National Park. An assortment of historical, outdoor adventure, and entertainment based attractions make Cody one of the top travel destinations. Explore Bridger-Teton National Forest or Shoshone National Forest. A car is recommended to best enjoy the highlights of this area. The closest major airport to Cody, Wyoming is Yellowstone Regional Airport (COD / KCOD). This airport is 2 miles from the center of Cody, WY. If you're looking for domestic flights to COD, check the airlines that fly to COD. The Billings Airport (BIL) is 100 miles/2 hours from Cody.

Pet Policy
We love welcoming pets at The Hole in the Wall Getaway! Prior arrangements are required. We charge a pet fee of $50 per pet per night, which will be invoiced separately after confirming your reservation. For longer stays, we're happy to offer a capped rate - just reach out to us to discuss.

Early Check-In & Late Check-Out
We understand that flexibility with check-in and check-out times can enhance your stay. Our standard check-in time is 4 PM, but if you’re arriving earlier, we’re happy to offer early check-in options when available (subject to availability and prior arrangement):

Early Check-In (2 PM): $30
Super Early Check-In (12 PM): $50
