Relaxing Beach House Getaway

In general, the stay was good. The property is in an excellent location. The furniture is old and may be due for replacement. I would say the cleanliness was average.

three nights stay

Everything was great except the window unit in living room was very noisy. The hosts were wonderful though. Very quick to answer any questions. The house was so close to the walk path to the beach. We enjoyed our long walks on the beach. the house was clean and stocked well. Thank you

Just needed a place to sleep. Fishing rest of the time. house was comfortable and clean. Good communication with owner. Would stay again.

Perfect family beach vacation!

Cutest little beach cottage! Perfect for our family of four. Cold outside shower for washing sandy shoes, and nice deck for hearing the waves and seagulls! The walk to the beach wasn’t very far, with a beautiful beach, lots of shells and tons of fluffy sand for kiddos to play in! Thankfully, this beach wasn’t as crowded as some others, there really weren’t that many people on the beach for spring break (maybe due to a bit colder weather), so it was nice to have almost the whole beach to ourselves often! The walk down the beach wasn’t that far to the Matagorda Bay Nature Park (long bridge pictured), which has a granite jetti that the kids (ages 10 &11) thoroughly enjoyed exploring! (Be careful here, the rocks can be slippery, especially keep an eye on any little children with the “wave side” that might could knock them off). We mainly stayed on the “beach side”, and had fun looking between the large rocks to see whatever little sea creatures were hanging out- including sea urchins, hermit crabs, small shrimp etc. The kitchen had everything we needed for good meals, played games at the table, watched movies at the end of the day in the sun. Had everything we needed to make lovely family memories!

Matagorda Fishing Trip

Had an issue with lower bedroom A/C unit and it was fixed the next day. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equiped. Property was clean. The house is starting to show its age and at some time will need a little repair but it did not affect our stay. It worked well for our purposes. The owners were very friendly and very responsive.

Comfy, cozy house in a very chill spot!

Excellent vacation!

We were in town for a friends wedding and I’m glad we chose this property! Very close beach access and very responsive owners! We had a blast and will definitely come back again!

Peaceful beach get away

The host was very responsive and communication was great. The house was as described and we enjoyed our stay and the easy walk to the beach. The neighborhood was quiet and there were very few people on the beach. The only down side was the aggressive mosquitos but the host did prepare us for that.

Very nice property and management was very helpful….. but….

It took us over an hour of driving around in total darkness to find the property. The move in documents reports the address as 91 Beachfront Drive. That was not helpful. The address is actually 491 Beach Front Drive. My navigation system could not find the provided address and the night was pitch black. Other than that I have no complaints.

Just What We Were Looking For

We had a peaceful, relaxing time, despite mosquitos and unseasonably chilly weather. The house was just as advertised. It was clean, simple, and, as Vrbo places go, had a well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed walks on the beach, visits to the Matagorda Bay Nature Park (about a 10-minute walk away), and longer trips to nearby nature preserves. If we ever get back to this area, we would stay here again.

Quiet and Relaxing

Matagorda beach is no less beautiful than the better-known beaches to the south but much less crowded and developed. We rented Beach Daze mid week in late October and had the beach completely to ourselves. The house is clean, comfortable, and well stocked. Bobbie and Matthew go well out of their way to make sure of this. I highly recommend Beach Daze to any family interested in a quiet and relaxing vacation.

It's a simple and adequate beach house with a premium location. The beach is easy to access and very private. The house had the basic necessities and was clean and bug free (minus the relentless mosquitos). We had a high wind day and they couldn't compete so that was nice. A screened in area and back porch would have been great.

Nice Place

The house was nice & clean, with plenty of amenities. I thought the house was beachfront but it wasn't & the beach looked closer to the beach in the posted pictures so that was a bit disappointing but honestly, the beach isn't too far if you have a wagon and the view from the deck is great. The house is in a really nice & quiet location. The owners are very nice, helpful & responsive in any/all communications. Note (not a negative on the owners just a tip): If you arrive after a recent rain, do not attempt the walk to the beach through the dunes without using lots of heavy duty mosquito spray!!!

Review

Camp was very clean and had everything we needed. However, it’s pretty old and it looked like it had lived through some water damage as evidenced by the texture on the walls. If you are not used to window units this is not the place for u. They were pretty loud and not always putting out air consistently. Also smelled musty but it is the beach and to be expected for a unit without central air.

Lovely Beach Getaway

Our family of 4 stayed for the weekend and had a great time. The beach house has a great location, is comfortable, and very well stocked. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the afternoon/evening to catch the breezes and watch the local deer and waterfowl. There is a large paved area under the balcony that is shady all day and catches a great breeze, too. Great place to play some cornhole or ladder ball, or just sit and sip a beverage. The walkover to the beach was handy, and we used it on our first evening to go explore the beach. The next day we wanted to bring chairs, cooler, etc, so instead of carrying everything on foot, we got a beach parking pass at the visitor center and drove to the end of Dune Road for beach access. Easy peasy! The property owners were available by text and checked in a couple of times to see if we needed anything. Overall we had a great stay and will be back!

Wonderful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beach Daze! We saw dolphins, caught 2 different kinds of small sharks, enjoyed the bird watching and loved the sea shells and hermit crabs. My husband and 2 boys loved to sleep in the downstairs bedroom as it was very cool down there. The house had everything we needed. Even though it was very hot, we enjoyed the walk over the dunes to the beach. We were at Beach Daze during a full moon which made it even more special. My son did get stung by a jelly fish on the last day but now he is thrilled to tell everyone he see's about it! We ran a bit of hot water on it and he was good to go the next morning. We also loved that we were able to take our dog. She loved jumping in the waves! Wonderful trip, we would suggest for anyone to go and enjoy! :)

Very Peaceful Place

The house is a standard beach house. The area is very peaceful and quiet. House was clean enough and was taken care of. Prepare well when going down to Matagorda. Very secluded. No close local stores or supplies but ice. Even though you can SEE the beach from the deck of the house, you cannot get to the beach walking. The dunes have no clear path to anything. And the snakes are there along with a million mosquitos. Take Bug Spray, Take your supplies, be prepared for quiet and peace and no traffic. Beach is amazing. House works great. Adjust your thinking before you go and you will love this location. Well worth the price!

Great location, suitable for a couple plus 2

50+ lady's trip. Host met expectations of coordination. Property is, as described. Turned out one of our gals could not make it so there was just the (3) of us. Thankful, because the extra room downstairs with (2) beds is not optimal for everyone. It was off the laundry/storage area and was muggy, dreary and smelled of insecticide (which for the mosquitos etc. was understandable, but we still would not have utilized it) would be literally just a place to sleep. Property does have all the basic accommodations & necessities. Unfortunately, it rained (a lot) and the only covered area is the parking beneath the house. So, cabin fever set in with no covered decking to escape to go even go outside. Beach paths from adjacent properties were accessible. Been going to Matagorda for over 10 years now and the truth is this, staying on the dunes side of Beach Front Rd. is always best. Happy beaching!!!

It's all about the beach! The beach at Matagorda is totally fantastic; big, wide and sandy. Only minutes from 'Beach Daze' and you are there. If you want you can also drive onto the beach which runs uninterrupted for 24 miles!

Location, location, location! 'Beach Daze' is just a few hundred feet from the beach and thus has unique access, both day and night, to one of the best undiscovered beaches in Texas. All this and its only 2 hours from Houston!
