A new cleaning crew is needed! We walked in the house and I immediately found a large dead roach, a dead wasp and a live wasp! Thanks for the can of Raid bug killer left on the book case. The ceramic tiles in the first floor bathroom were pulling away from the walls, mildew was on the grout and wicking air freshener was no longer fragrant and the wicks were mildewed. Someone please wash the bathroom floor mat. Towels looked well worn, too, so maybe new towels would help. The red couch in the first floor living area had seat cushions that are so flat they offer no support. It made it difficult to get up because I sunk so far down and back. I learned to sit only in the newer red floral chairs. A coffee table would have been helpful to provide a place to put down a drink. The clock on the mantle didn’t work. The wall panels were separating making the room look like it was cheaply put up. Kind of depressing overall. The bed in the bedroom next to the bathroom wasn’t very comfortable and the door bumped into the bed. The whole house looked uncared for and the head clearance on entering the house was way too low for anyone over 5’10”. Even with the write up’s warning one had to be vigilant not to hit the head. On the PLUS side were the beautiful views from the balconies. In fact it’s the only reason we didn’t leave after the first night. Overall this house might be a good fit for a group of fishermen who only need a place to drink beers on the balcony sleep.

Our home is an authentic, older beach house on pilings, and its layout, features, and character are accurately represented in the listing. We maintain the property regularly and have welcomed many guests over the years—far more than the 148 who have left reviews—many of whom return year after year and enjoy the home’s comfort, cleanliness, and Gulf views. My wife was really doubtfull of recent trip here. Will never go back to port a. We had so much fun going out at 6, sip on our coffee, watch the sunrise a little after 7, take a short stroll thru the dunes and walk the beach. It was suprising to see more than 1 or 2 folks on the beach, yes its early, but no one all day, Fantastic and special place, tks for all. Mnl

Enjoyed our stay on Matagorda Bay

Nice property. Very clean and well maintained. We particularly enjoyed the Great Horned Owl mother and owlets nesting in the trunk of a palm tree just a few yards from the deck.

Matagorda summer stay year 10

We have stayed at this property 4x over the last 10 years and have found it clean, comfortable and with great views of and easy access to the beach. The futon floor has a somewhat musty smell, and there were a couple of items missing we needed on this visit (trash bags and soap). Other than that, another great year and we plan to be back again next year.

Ringaling

It was a chill place nearby nothing but a gorgeous beach. Warning: you have to have a four wheel drive vehicle or garden galoshes to get the beach. The house was in good shape for being older. It sleeps a lot of people.

Perfect getaway

We had a fantastic time! The house has plenty of room for the kids to have their own space. The view from upstairs is stunning, perfect spot to have your coffee in the morning. Highly recommend, we will be back!!

Very comfortable with great views

This home is very comfortable and has beautiful views of the beach and oceans from the patios. Just a short walk down the path to get to the beach. Home is older but well kept, clean and well stocked with everything you will need for a great stay.

House was clean, but the carpets appeared stained but we did not spend that much time at the house. We are a group of 60-75 year old seniors and we loved the balconies and the beach views.

Great house in walking distance from the beach. Pet friendly.

Overall our stay was great. House was very clean and organized, there were toys and movies to play for our 2 grandkids. Only thing I would say that I wasn’t 100% with was the actual walking distance from the beach.It seemed allot shorter wall in the pics and the actual path about halfway down it had a makeshift bridge made with pallets thru the soggy ground. It was a bit slippery and we weren’t a be to our beach wagon over it, so we have to load everything up in our vehicle and drive around to the beach. But other than that it was a great place to stay with very reasonable price compared to the surrounding rentals and pet friendly.

Great family property

I have 2 boys, 12 and 9. This place was great. Good path to the beach. Boogie boards to use as well as sand toys. Plenty of space to spread out. We had a great week, would definitely stay here again.

Plenty of space

We enjoyed our stay. The homeowners don't allow the thermostat to go below 72 which I wish we had known beforehand. Owner was responsive to texts and I appreciate that. Overall it was a positive experience.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. In August at the beach (and during a heat wave) with very high humidity, if ac units are set to below 72 degrees, they to will simply freeze up and stop working. We do not want this to happen and therefore we have fixed the low setting to 72 degrees, which has worked and proves very comfortable for our guests over many years. Thanks for being great guests, we look forward to your return visit soon.

Last Minute Birthday Get Away

Bobbie &Matt were excellent hosts, allowing us to set up last minute accommodations for my wife's 60th birthday getaway. The home is in a great location near the beach and close to enough to town for any last minute things we needed from Stanleys. The house was clean, neat and the house was well stocked with everything necessary for a great stay. We come to Matagorda often and will check their availability again. Take care, till next time!

House made for making memories

I searched and viewed many properties when looking for a place for us to spend Father's Day weekend with our family. My eye kept coming back to this house. I am more than happy with choosing Lazy Daze for our stay. The house itself is a perfect beach house. The decks are made for family visiting and relaxing on. The house is fully stocked, there isn't anything they haven't thought of including in your stay. Working with Bobbie and Matthew was a breeze. We will be returning in the future. Met the owners…super nice & accommodating!

We enjoyed our stay, but… 1. Downstairs living area very small…could have used the larger upstairs living room but we wanted to be close to kitchen for snacks & dining table for games 2. Small step up & down from dining room to living room was hazardous 3. No dishwasher was disappointing 4. unable to walk to beach due to swampy area 5. Parts of the house are in need of repairs

Great place to stay when winter hunting

We stayed in the house two nights. Duck hunted the first morning then came back to rest and relax. Headed to the jetty to fish till it was time for the night hunt. Headed out for a night hog hunt that did not finish till 4:00am in the morning. We met the duck guide at 5:00am and hunted till noon. Later check out would have been nice so we could shower after the hunting since we did not even sleep in the house the second night. Food for though when I book my next hunting trip. Run-N-Gun Adventures is probably the best hunting guide company in the Matagorda area, they are awesome fishing guides too! This house is perfect for what we needed it for. I would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the beach too.

Wonderful beachouse for two families to share!

We had a great stay at Lazy Daze. The house was more than enough room for two families. The beds were sooo comfortable. The adults used the king sized beds on the main floor and the teenagers used the futons and full beds on the second floor and loft. The house was well stocked and well maintained. Just a short walk over the dunes to the beach was easy. The beach was beautiful and calm. We had a blast sunbathing and collecting shells. The kids found a Frisbee and body boards at the house that they used down at the beach. We would definitely come back to Lazy Daze in the future. Loved the house and the nice town of Matagorda! We even went into the building at the Matagorda Bay Nature and RV park and found a touch tank with hermit crabs and fish. They loan fishing rods and tackle at that building. My husband and some of the kids caught quite a few trout while we were there. And crabs were running everywhere down by the pier. The have frequent "crab crawls" in the area to catch and cook them. Highly recommend Lazy Daze!

Perfect Anniversary Getaway!

We stayed Wed - Sat to celebrate our anniversary and it was absolutely perfect! We had so much solitude at the house, on the beach and even at restaurants in town that it felt like we were on a private island just for the two of us. The hosts were very responsive and communicated well. The house has plenty of comfortable sleeping spots and space for multiple families, the kitchen is well stocked for all your cooking needs and the view from the deck are wonderful! 180 degrees of dunes, beachfront surf, and beautiful sky from the top deck! We spent hours up there just watching the waves crash and enjoying the roar of the ocean. We went through the walk trail through the dunes long walks on the beach. It was great advice to bring rain boots for that trek. We also went to the LCRA Nature Science Center near by purchased the pass to drive on the beach. We have a Subaru Outback AWD and if you know how to drive on sand you should be fine most of the way but we saw several big trucks stuck. We saw several different types of birds and deer too! All and all it was everything we wanted to celebrate our anniversary! 💖 Definitely want to go back with family and friends!
