This sunny vacation home is nestled on the edges of Cape Henlopen State Park along Cape Shores beach. Walk to the beaches through the park or gaze at sunsets on Delaware Bay. Ride your bike into Historic Downtown Lewes or through the park's beautiful trails to the famous Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. This home is the perfect location for trips any time of year.

Enjoy views of the state park from every bedroom with easy access from the Cape May-Lewes Ferry in this renovated home. Step inside to behold the new interior doors as you enter the large living room with a vaulted ceiling. Lounge in the sunroom with woodland views and new furniture as you take in the home's charm. Cook meals together in the well-appointed kitchen. Enjoy lazy afternoons and quiet evenings on the spacious deck. Be sure to make use of the grill and enjoy some outdoor cooking. Kids will love this home too, as it features a ground-floor playroom patio and sand pit for them to enjoy. When you're winding down for the night, rinse off with a shower in either of the upgraded bathrooms on the mid-level or downstairs. If you need more sleeping space, the den's recent door additions grant extra privacy while the queen bed ensures you'll rest comfortably.

THINGS TO KNOW
Linens are provided as part of your vacation rental; beds are made in advance of guest stays.
The community swimming pool is open Memorial Day to Labor Day.
The fireplace is disabled and not for guest use.
Delaware regulations require all guests sign a lease agreement within 10 days of booking. A lease agreement will be sent within 24 hours of booking and an electronic signature is required before final check-in information is made available.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). Wonderful home!

The location was perfect! Next to a semi private beach and quite but kid friendly! Only issue was the basement shower was a very slow drain. Otherwise lovely home with lots of room!

Beautiful location

The house was very well kept, although there was a little trouble with the basement shower having a slow drain. However, that didn’t harm the trip. The views of the natural beach park land were lovely and the neighborhood was quite so we could really enjoy the stars at night. Access to the multiple fishing piers was also such a nice surprise.

Great place to stay.

Lewes Beach is great for young kids. The house has bikes, surf boards and all sorts of beach toys. Inside are all sorts of toys.

Fun stay!

We enjoyed our visit to Lewes and the house on East Cape Shores. It easily fit our large family and was in a wonderful location. We regularly went to the beaches nearby. There we some great play grounds at the beach and in Lewes for our granddaughter to enjoy!

Beach days

This is a great place to gather with family. The beaches were beautiful. The park was walking distance. So many great restaurants nearby. My adult children live 3000 miles apart and this spot was the perfect place to relax and reconnect.

Spacious and comfortable

The home had loads of room for our staying and visiting family. We loved the proximity to the bay beach and the pier for sunset watching. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment for any cooking needs. The rear enclosed porch was popular for puzzles and fooze ball or just relaxing. It would be better if any information regarding trash/recycling pickup was prominent as well as any other necessary information. We had a wonderful time.

Nice family vacation

We enjoyed this spacious home! Easy walk to the very calm (no waves), uncrowded, sandy bay/harbor beach and the community pool that is large and great for both kids and adults. Very short drive (3-5 min.) to the Cape Henlopen State Park (Atlantic Ocean) beach. Just a note - the state park does cost money ($10 per day, per out of state vehicle) to drive into and that beach was VERY crowded. Lots of lovely bike paths near the home and within the state park. The Cape May-Lewes Ferry is very close and we enjoyed watching it depart and return from the bay/harbor beach. House was well equipped with lots of seating, games, kitchen equipment, etc. We did have a few small issues such as plates and glasses in the cabinets not being clean, one sliding glass door having damage, etc but overall enjoyed the stay. The community where this home is located is quiet and well maintained, with nice landscaping.

Not Very Clean

The floors/rugs and furniture were dirty. The babies had black knees and feet 5 minutes of crawling on the floor. We sent pictures of the dirty floors and furniture to the host. They offered to have their team come and clean again, however, we had a large group and didn't want to disrupt them. There is a well equipped kitchen - however the cupboards were dirty with food spills, etc. and some of the dishware had chips and cracks. The property did have plenty of linens for bathing. The property does not have any beach items such as chairs, umbrellas, etc. There is ample space/bedding for a large group.

Great location with some issues

We have stayed in dozens of beach rentals, mainly in California and Hawaii. The house was spacious with plenty of room for our family. It’s a very short walk to a great beach, especially for children, and has a fantastic community pool. The home had a nice, well-equipped kitchen that had everything we needed expect a pizza pan or cutter. However, we were disappointed to find a broken garbage disposal and ice maker on arrival. While this happens, it took 3 calls over 3 days to get a host response to address this. On day 3 someone came out but was unable to do repairs. While complicated repairs or replacements may not be possible on short notice, the lack of host response is new for us. The house was generally clean except for dusting. There were large dust balls in the loft a layer of dust throughout the house (fireplace mantel, windowsills). Among the many beach homes we have rented this is the first that had no beach amenities, such as beach towels. You will need to bring these as well as chairs, umbrellas, toys or other beach items. There was also no hair dryer. We have given almost every beach rental we’ve stayed at a 5 rating; this one is well below that due mainly to poor host response and somewhat to dust and lack of some amenities that we have come to expect with other similar beach rentals we’ve stayed at.

Great Home & Location

This is our 2nd summer renting this home. We love the Cape Shores Community. The homes are beautiful, the community pool is great and the private bay beach is a few steps away. Cape Henelopen park offers awesome trails and access to a well guarded ocean beach in a ~10 minute shaded bike ride. Historic downtown Lewes can be accessed easily by car(~5 min) or bike (~15 min) via safe well maintained trails.

Wonderful house!

Gorgeous family room with loads of space to gather and spread out. The bedrooms are great, spaced for privacy. The back sunroom with a/c is lovely for quiet time or work. And the kitchen is big and very well equipped. The house is convenient to bay beach, state park, and the pool. We had a fantastic week!

Fantastic vacation home!

520 East Cape Shores Dr. is an awesome vacation home. It is 3 levels of spacious, comfortable rooms with a variety of balconies and porches for gathering spots. The kitchen was well stocked, and the outdoor shower with hot and cold water was a huge plus. The location was perfect. We had a short walk to the bay and the neighborhood pier and pool. The treasure of Cape Henlopen State Park was just 5 minutes away. Our family loved this house!
