We utilized all things offered with this property! The warm weather helped. One member showered everyday outside! I was going to a family wedding at Highland County Park and had up to seven members staying …one even slept on the deck…his choice. There was sleeping for all..but the high master bed and the low toilets were a bit of a challenge for me! We all agreed that we communed with nature the entire week. The hosts offered utilizing the abundance of flowering plants and greenery. So we gathered on the large deck area under the most amazing 300 year old oak tree to make the wedding bouquets and centerpieces. Using store bought flowers we added from the yard sprigs of lavender, rosemary, some brilliant yellow sprigs, a tiny yellow flower, and seed pods stems. Beautiful! We cooked most meals in the large, best stocked kitchen. Coffee from multi choice pots including grind your own! We gathered daily in the large living room, but never watched TV. We did played poker most nights on the long dining room table. The hosts were very reachable and I feel that we made new friends. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Lonni that your for taking the time to write such a generous review. We really enjoy hearing about the life cycles that take place under that 350 year old tree. Babies born and even conceived, wedding preparations and families gathering for final farewells. Men’s retreats and women’s weekends or elders looking for the footsteps of their ancestors. Every time I look at the 10,000 sq ft span of that tree I think about all it has witnessed. We are so glad that your family was able to share in this special place. We look forward to next time.

Amazing outdoor spaces. Hot tub, gardens, huge deck and lots of seating areas. Well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook. Easy access and parking Great communication with host. Good fit if you want something that feels like a home.

My family stayed at this property to attend my daughter’s graduation from UCSC. The hosts were super helpful and the property was amazing. We enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor shower, and sitting on the deck watching birds, turkeys, and deer wandering through. My niece and son enjoyed a hike that was recommended by the hosts. The house was well-stocked for anything we needed for cooking. We loved dining outside. This is a gorgeous property and I hope we get to visit again!

Lovely house amongst the trees in Ben Lombard. Hosts were attentive and responsive. Jacuzzi was a warm respite at the end of the day. Short drive to Santa Cruz boardwalk.

The kitchen was very well equipped. We celebrated the holiday and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The rooms were nice. Dining area a little small. If the bathroom with a bathtub could be used as a shower that would be helpful. All in all a very nice stay

We completely agree with you, the dinning room is indeed small as the limited space provided by a 1,000 sq ft home is dedicated to other rooms such as the kitchen. This is why we’ve worked to create wonderful places to eat outside on the deck on in the meadow room during times of good weather. For special dinners sometimes the library bin the old boat barn makes a beautiful much larger dinning space with advance notice.

The temps are comfortable, the sky is usually very blue, the fog is rare, the sea mammals are migrating off shore and the rain has not started. This house is great! We stayed here with our family for vacation and the location is perfect for everything you could ever want to do in the area. Every day we saw tons of animals and the house was stocked with everything you could possibly need for your vacation!

A beautiful retreat

Such a lovely property in a beautiful location. The hosts were available and attentive from check in to check out. Be sure to visit the majestic redwoods in nearby Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park!

We are so happy Jill that you enjoyed your stay and the fabulous Redwood Trees found in the Santa Cruz mountains. The 19th century steam train operated by Roaring Camp does run year round and does offer special programs like Beach Train during the summer, Moon light dances and chuck wagon BQ during the fall, and special kid events.

Perfect Location

A great location for the Santa Cruz area. We enjoyed rivers, lakes, forest walks, train rides, and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk all within 20-30 minutes from our stay. The house was amazing and very roomy. Great out door patio and the hot tub was the perfect end of the day rejuvenation. Great place to visit.

University of Santa Cruz tour trip!

The property is amazing! Cannot wait to come back! The view and wildlife are incredible. The outdoor shower is a must!

Lovely outdoor sanctuary

The hosts were super communicative and responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay. The property grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. We really enjoyed unwinding in the garden after long days exploring all of the adventures the area has to offer.

We had a lovely time at this beautiful home in the Santa Cruz mountains! Although it was just my husband and myself, the house is large enough for a group with generous indoor and outdoor seating and dining options. We took advantage of the BBQ and hot tub every night. Sitting in the tub looking up at the brilliant stars was amazing! The master bed is very comfortable, and the kitchen is spacious and offers everything you could need for food prep. The property is large and nicely well maintained. Breakfasts on the deck watching the turkeys with their little ones was a great way to start each day. We enjoyed visiting Henry Cowell park, but be aware dogs are not permitted on all trails. It's def worth going but you might also enjoy the dog-friendly trails at Loch Lomond. We had a great lunch at the Grove Cafe & Bakery in Felton after visiting the charming covered bridge. A walk/hike around the harbor in Santa Cruz ended at Aldo's which serves excellent seafood on the water at a reasonable price. Seriously, why stay at a busy hotel when you can have this little paradise all to yourself? I highly recommend it!

Just tonight I was looking at the seed catalogue and wondering about ordering 5 pounds of lupine seed for the meadow recalling how my last attempt did not get me very far but did provide a feast for the flock of turkeys that patrolled the yard for days and days.

Great stay in Ben Lomond for UCSC graduation

We stayed here for UCSC graduation with family of 4. Great location and beautiful outside deck & landscaping. Loved the outside shower, jacuzzi & bird watching. The house had everything we needed to cook & relax and the location was great.

We just happen to have a couple of midweek days open this month if your cabin fever sets in. Or, winter storms in Jan can be amazing in the mountains. If the power goes out, we still have gas and lots of battery operated candels.

Beautiful property and house

The house was the great for hanging out, the property was quiet and beautiful. My family and I enjoyed how close the house was to hiking and the town's but was quiet and peaceful.
