Idyll Reserve features a contact-free check-in and stay, however we are available 24/7 by phone and SMS for any issues, questions, or service needs. Phone number and key code will be provided 48 hours prior to check-in. In advance of your stay, we are available at info(at)idyllreserve.com.

The Hocking Hills region boasts some of the most unique and beautiful landscape in the Northeast. This stunning private property features walking trails, treetop views, cliffs and caves. The surrounding area includes state parks, national forests, hiking trails, caves, canoeing, adventure parks, zip-lining, rock climbing, horse trails, as well as year-round festivals, winery and brewery events. Idyll Reserve is minutes away from the area's main attractions.

The South Cabin and The Main House (Idyll Reserve | 1 and 2) were built with guests with limited mobility in mind; with a zero entry, step-less ramp from parking to main entrance, and an open, flat floor plan. These cabins may not be suitable for guests who are completely dependant upon wheelchairs - our bathrooms and kitchens do not have modified accessibility features. Please let us know directly if there are any other accommodations we can provide to make your stay more enjoyable.

The South Cabin, bright and bold, with clean lines and a modern aesthetic is the perfect place for an intimate getaway for a creative couple, a small family, or a few friends. The cabin features a large great room with fully equipped kitchen, a large living and dining area and a gas fireplace. A private sauna, hot tub, fire pit , gas grill and a cozy lounge area complete your outdoor paradise.
This cabin may be suitable for guests with accessibility needs with a ramp from parking, and step-less entry to all interior areas of the cabin. Please message us to discuss individual needs.

We recommend driving your own vehicle as ride-sharing and public transit are limited in our area. The driveway is gravel and offers parking space for 2 cars at each cabin. Two shared, complimentary EV chargers are located on the property and available for your use.

Propane for gas grill and firewood for fire pit provided. There is a pack-n-play with bedding, a high chair, and children's dishes and utensils stored in each cabin. Pets are not permitted in this cabin, however well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Cabin and The Hillside, and The North (Idyll Reserve | 3, 4 & 5).

Not amazing for what you pay

It's just ok. For the amount they charge a night you would think the place would be immaculate but instead felt like it was rush-cleaned. When we came in there were many rugs that were askew. The bed was sloppily made. The window treatment pulley on the bedroom window was broken off so you couldn't roll it up to let the light in. The remote holder for the bedroom fan was coming off of the wall, the screw was barely secured in the drywall. There was a dead bug on the dining table, it looks like it had been there a while. The toilet paper roll was halfway off the holder. The heating unit in the room was so noisy when it would run every 10 minutes we had to shut it off because it was just too annoying. The TV in the living room was hi-tech and pretty but the owner spent their money to make it a picture frame TV and not on a swivel so it was very hard to view it while lounging on the couch. The flooring in the shower is not permanently set, every time you took a step on the wood it wobbled and felt very unsafe. I felt like I was going to trip on it and fall at any time. A wood rung on the back lounger in the sauna was broken in half. All in all, there were SO many small things wrong/broken on this rental it didn't feel like it was worth the price we paid to stay there. There was a ton of high-tech gadgets in the unit, but for someone looking for quality over whatever the latest trendy techie fixture is, this cabin is overrated. *Idyll Reserve respose* Dear Sheran, thank you so much for your comments. We will get our handy man out immediately to attach the loose remote control holder and to look at the heating unit and shower floor. We'll go through the rest of your comments with our cleaning team, and will get a new sauna lounger on order as well. Sometimes it takes living in the cabin for a few days to notice these things. Labor Day Weekend at Idyll

Perhaps not the best time to be in hocking hills (not quite fall colors, overly busy weekend on the trails and still pretty warm by Ohio standards), however this Cabin made up for all of that with it's incredible styling, modern amenities and just cozy feeling. I've been to a few cabins in HH before but this one takes the cake, easily. It is a little on the expensive side, but with all the features they've added to this cabin, it more than makes up for it. Highly recommend!

Perfect getaway, excellent location

My husband and I had a wonderful two night stay. The cabin was clean, beautiful decorated and with clear communication from Laura through the process. Just a few minutes drive from a bunch of hiking (we did 18 miles in 48 hours). It was nice to come back and relax in the hot tub and sauna. The only improvement I would like to see would be better shades in the bedroom, as light peaked in from deck lights and sun in the morning. It was a perfect 10/10 stay and we hope to return again soon! Thank you for having us.

Easy and Relaxing

The home/cabin was beautiful with a simplified Swedish inspired design. Amenities offered a relaxing and cozy weekend and the location was close to all that Hocking Hills has to offer.

We had a wonderful time at the South. It was pure luxury and we will definitely be back. There were a few amenities that did not work, such as the outdoor floor lights, the outdoor shower, and the indoor fireplace. But I trust those will be fixed in time, and they didn't detract substantially from our experience.

Absolutely loved our stay. The cabin and campground offered so many amenities! Also, I hate planning trips and the Hostely account helped me figure out places to go, eat, shop and most specifically the hiking trails! Close to the state park. Would definitely recommend 10/10!

Anniversary Get-Away!

I had very high expectations for Idyll Reserve after finding it on Instagram a few months ago. The South cabin was even better than we were hoping! We loved the espresso machine and cooking meals together. The sauna and hot tub were super relaxing. We loved Rock House & Old Man's Cave hikes nearby. A great way to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary!

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. The weather was rainy but that just gave us more time to enjoy the spa-like amenities of the cabin. The sauna and hot tub were extremely relaxing. And sonos speakers, great kitchen, and amazing bathroom made for a rejuvenating three days. I would highly recommend!

Private Spa Retreat

Stayed a night in February '24. Everything was just as advertised. A cool, modern new space with high-end amenities and nice views. A nice sauna and hot tub and robes make it a private spa experience. Everything is thought out and explained. Would not hesitate to book again! (A king size bed would be awesome, but the queen that is there is nice)

The most amazing getaway!

What a PERFECT, dreamy, wonderful getaway. Just a stunning retreat from the world with every single detail so thoughtfully considered and available. This place DRIPS with luxury but also does it in such an understated, subtle way that feels elegant and cozy. You feel at home but also like you’re totally separate from it all. State of the art, sleek and bright, we will add this to our family’s traditions. Laura (the host) was super lovely, communicated with me and answered all my questions as I was arranging this surprise for my hubby’s birthday! Just five stars - I wish I could give TEN!

Incredibly relaxing stay

We stayed in the South cottage for three nights. The property is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Very little sounds around you, except for the wildlife. 1 million stars at night. The cabin is extremely well appointed and decorated with everything you could possibly need for a wonderful stay, including cooking, great meals, which we did. The property is also extremely close to the popular, hiking destinations in Hocking Hills. We will be back!

Idyll Reserve has come together as a dream project for myself (your host, and operations), my brother Jay (development), and his wife Kelly (design). We imagined a retreat that married amazing architecture, a sustainable build and luxurious finishes in a truly unique natural setting. We, and a small army of talented craftspeople, have been working towards the grand opening for the last two years and we are beyond excited to be able to finally share it with you.

Each of the 5 cabins at Idyll Reserve features a truly sustainable build and use; EV chargers, eco-conscious hot tubs, high-end energy efficient appliances, natural fiber furnishings and organic linens. Our aim is to provide the most sustainable and luxurious getaway experience in Ohio.

The cabins can be rented individually, or all 5 together. We welcome hosting your intimate wedding, family reunion or small corporate retreat. Together the cabins sleep up to 30, and we offer a 10% discount for the rental of the entire property. Please message me for details.
