Hello! My wife and I would like to share with you a little about ourselves. I am a Captain/Paramedic with a Fire Department in South Florida. I am born and raised in south Florida. Sue (My beautiful wife) is from Connecticut. 20 years ago we got engaged (shout out to Carriage Way Bed and breakfast) while visiting Saint Augustine and fell in love with the city. We have returned multiple times every year since. We now have 3 young children and are creating new memories with them every time we come back to the nations oldest city. We have worked hard remodeling the Terrapin house and decorating it so we could share it with you. We love the house and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Our goal is to maximize our family time while traveling, having adventures, and making memories. Thank you for helping us make that dream a reality.

Drive into the quiet neighborhood of St. Augustine South and allow the river to carry your worries away. But don’t be too distracted by the view and miss your turn! Hope you brought your boat or kayaks, because the Douglas Crane public boat ramp is less than a ¼ mile away. When you pull up to the cottage-style Terrapin House, you will immediately notice the spacious front porch with 4 large Adirondacks chairs for you to sit and enjoy the river view and watch the boats drift by. Can you spot the lighthouse? The Black Raven pirate ship has been known to sail the waters of the Matanzas River. Keep a weathered eye on the horizon.

Open the door to a relaxing coastal vibe with an open floor plan. Enjoy the beautiful river view from the living room, kitchen, & dining area. Prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the fully equipped kitchen. Need to catch up on some business? Enjoy free high-speed internet (505 Mbps) while still enjoying the peaceful river view.

The relaxing coastal vibe continues throughout the 3 bedrooms. One bedroom is an ensuite with a walk-in shower. The 2nd bathroom features a bathtub. All bedrooms feature black-out curtains and ceiling fans.

St. Augustine is known for its beautiful weather, so why not enjoy it from the many outdoor living spaces? There is a comfortable couch under a covered area decorated with hanging lights so it can be used during the day, or to enjoy the peaceful evening air. Would you like to dine outside? No problem. There is a table and chairs for 6 with an umbrella for shade. Crisp winter nights call for sitting by a fire in the fire pit with s’mores or grill your dinner over a wood or charcoal fire. If your little kids are with you, let them run off that extra energy on the swing set in the fully fenced in back yard.

Sand and fun at the beach or sightseeing and amazing restaurants downtown are only a short 10 minute drive from The Terrapin House.

The Terrapin House has a beautiful view of the Matanzas River. We are located 10 minutes from the beach and the historic district downtown. Bring your boat and enjoy a 1 minute drive (¼ mile) to our free community boat ramp. The backyard is fenced in and has a children's play set for the children to swing and climb on.

Relax in a comfy adirondack chair sitting on the front deck while you watch the boats, birds, and the occasional pirate ship go by. The backyard also has a deck to enjoy a more private atmosphere with a fire pit for those chilly nights. The covered carport has seating with a view of the river, and is a great spot to enjoy the shade with a breeze any time of day.

We encourage you to bring your boat, jet ski's, paddle boards, kayak's, or canoe as the community boat ramp is a 1 min drive ( ¼ mile) from our front door. Seeing historic Saint Augustine from the water is an amazing experience!
