Regarding the insects, we have a professional pest control company service the property on a quarterly schedule, and the home had actually been treated the week prior to your stay. While routine pest prevention is important, Florida’s warm climate means that an occasional insect can still make its way indoors despite regular treatments. The hill in the backyard is actually the property’s septic drain field. In our area of Florida, the high groundwater table requires septic systems to be installed as a raised mound, which is standard construction and necessary for the system to function properly.
