A unique, relaxing retreat in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains! This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom that can sleep 8-10 is ready to host your next getaway! Located on 10 acres and equipped with a fire pit and plenty of room to explore.
Lots of room for groups or larger families. Perfect for wedding parties, large families, or groups. Minutes from skiing, side by side trails, and close to New River Gorge for rafting, climbing and outdoor adventures. Plenty of room for multiple cars, side by sides, and trailers to park for all your adventures!

The property was lovely and just as listed. Kacy was very sweet and communication was easy. The house had everything we needed and we will be staying again.

Mountain Dome house!

We had a great time. The home is unique and well styled. A bit quirky but lots of fun! The acoustics are great for music! I think the record player was on the whole stay. It was a little wet while we were there so we didn’t get to have a fire, but we did explore the woods one morning and the kids had a great time doing that. Plenty of area to spread out, read, sit beside the gas logs and hang out. I’d restrict the use of the third floor from small children use, as the steps are steep and railing is minimal. Overall this is a great place to stay, for a family or friends. Lots of fun, very nice and pretty interior and the host are very friendly, helpful and attentive!

Great stay!

The house is really cool and unique. We had everything we needed and then some (linens, towels, firewood, snacks, drinks, etc.). We enjoyed the firepit. It was very cozy, and well-stocked. It was perfect for our leadership retreat this weekend. There were several good recommendations for the local area. We weren't here long enough to get to appreciate them. Here are some things you may want to know. The checkout time on the website had not been updated from 11a to 10a as it had been in the book at the house. We realized it and reached out to the host who was very understanding and accomodating. You may want to bring your own chairs from around the fire if you aren't OK with sitting on the logs (we were fine with it). The stairs up to the top level are very steep and narrow. Pay attention if you have small children going up and down. Lastly, between trucks using their engine break on the interstate and the train, it's not the quietest at night.

First time visit

Our stay was great. We stayed 2 nights. There was plenty of space for everyone and the kids loved the layout of the house. If there was lighting outside near the fire we couldn't find it. It would have been nice to have some lighting as we walked out and sat around the fire.

Amazing stay.

The family road tripped East and found this beauty. Pictures and descriptions were exactly as described. Great notes and helpful ideas for activities and local finds. 100% recommend.

Such a unique home!

This place was super cool! Just minutes off of I77 (we stayed just one night while passing through the area), with a serene, wooded property. We had 5 kids with us, and all of them went nuts when they saw the inside of the house, especially the loft area at the very top. It’s truly unique and super cool. Incredibly welcoming host, super comfortable furniture and beds, and lots of games and things to keep kids and adults occupied. Everyone wants to come back when it’s warmer!

Dome House Was Great

We enjoyed our stay at the dome house, it has so much character. It was very convenient to Winterplace Ski Resort. It even snowed Friday night! The kitchen is well stocked.with pots and pans, spices and an air fryer, coffee center with a grinder. We appreciated the snacks after a long ski day. There were lots of beds and a nice roomy couch. We highly recommend.

Winter Wonderland

This dome home was the perfect getaway for our family. We had 5 cars and no issues with parking. There was plenty of space for everyone. The home was full of thoughtful touches and communication with the manager was perfect. Mother Nature tried her best to keep us away but instead, we created memories that will last a lifetime. If you get the chance, the Dome house retreat in the Appalachian Mountains will not disappoint!

Family Get a Way

The property was clean and private. Approximately 6 miles from the ski resort, easy to access from the interstate and resort. The house house a lot of character, and some unique acoustics. It was a perfect get away for our family.

Great house, close to ski slopes, great host

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! From the cozy atmosphere to the well-equipped amenities, everything exceeded our expectations. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the attention to detail was evident in every corner. The location was perfect, offering both serenity and convenience. The host was responsive and accommodating, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. We couldn't have asked for a better place to relax and make lasting memories. Five stars without a doubt!

Can’t beat this location!

This is a unique home with an open floor plan. We loved the quick and easy access to Winterplace. Although there are a few turns, it is not treacherous mountain road like some places and the driveway and main road are pretty flat in front of the house. We found travel to and from very easy. We skied at Winterplace all day the first day, and then tubed and skied the second day. Had I realized how close the house was, we probably would’ve tubed the second morning and then come back to the house for lunch before skiing the second afternoon. The house was very clean and well stocked. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Even three different appliances for coffee. Note that there is no dishwasher. This was not a problem for us, as I had not seen one in the picture online so I brought paper plates and plastic ware. It was no big deal to wash the things that we did use, but I would think people would want to know that so they could come prepared if they didn’t want to take the time to hand wash dishes. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. The bathrooms are very spacious. We did not take advantage of the fire pit in the backyard, but it looked inviting. The kids did use the sleds that we had brought the last morning, as it had snowed overnight. The yard was great for sledding. Kacy was very helpful. She has even offered to mail to us some shoes, that were inadvertently left behind, which we greatly appreciate. All in all, we had a wonderful time.

Cool place!

We had a great time here. The house was so cool! The kids had fun exploring the property and they enjoyed having their own bedroom with bunk beds. The kitchen was well stocked and there were even snacks and drinks for us, which was really thoughtful. Our only issue was the open ceiling in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom because sound travels in there (but it’s also a really cool result of the dome house). Overall we had a great weekend with our friends!

Beautiful home & perfect hosts

The house easily accommodated 7 (2 families with 4 adults, 3 kids). Everyone had their own space and a huge common area to hang out. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to make meals and snacks. It was so nice of the host to provide suggestions beforehand of restaurants and local attractions. We had an amazing stay.

Wonderful spacious house near Winterplace ski resort

This house is stunning and on a beautiful property with a large backyard and firepit. There were 2 families of 4. All 4 kids stayed in one bedroom with 2 bunk beds. Plenty of space for the 8 of us and the interior design was impeccable. Would definitely stay there again.
