With over 3,000 square feet, double decks, and an easy walk to the water, Briarcliff has relaxation written all over it! This beautiful ranch waterfront home is situated on a very gentle lot with incredible main channel views. Located in the Beechwood West subdivision, this home is convenient to Bridgewater Plaza by land and water.

The main level provides an open floor plan with lots of windows for natural light and wide water views. A well-equipped kitchen, dining area, family room with a TV, primary suite with a walkout to the upper deck, two guest bedrooms, one guest bath, and laundry are offered on the main level.

On the lower level, there is a large family room with a TV, game table, and pool table, plus a second kitchen, guest bedroom, and guest bath.

There is lots of room to enjoy the outdoors with the upper and lower decks with plenty of seating for outdoor dining. There is also a large stationary dock and a natural sandy beach when water levels allow. When the lake is at full pond, the beach area provides shallow walk-in water.

This is a great family spot. Exactly as advertised, right on the lake with a private dock and swimming space. I especially liked the downstairs recreation area separated from 3 bedrooms, as it was convenient after the kids went to bed

Just as advertised, a sizeable home right on the lake with private dock and swimming space. I especially liked the separate downstairs recreation space with the 3 bedrooms upstairs, this was very convenient after the kids went to bed!

Nice quiet house on a lake with beautiful sunsets

Well laid out house, comfy beds, quiet neighborhood. We had a great time. Gravel bike riding in all directions were fantastic - you’ll need to drive a bit to get to the popular ride areas.

Family Reunion Get Away

We always like to get a house at the lake when we are in town for our annual family reunion. This house is in a great location and has the most amazing area overlooking the lake! We can’t wait to come back in the summer when it’s warm enough to swim!!

Briarcliff - a quiet vacation

This location was very nice. It was close to restaurants, Food Lion, and the stores at the bridge. There were deer everywhere, plus we saw osprey and weasels. We could also flag down the ice cream pontoon and buy inexpensive treats from the dock! Overall, we had a great time reuniting with family at this vacation home.

Pontoon rental, evening board games and restaurant meals....

Great property for three couples and kids. Long walk up and down steps to the dock, but that's typical at SML....Great location, easy to boat to Mango's or drive the car to Food Lion or the coffee shop. If you are a foodie, check out Bull Docks restaurant.

Great home on the lake

Lovely spacious home right on the lake. Several improvements need to be made as were stated by other reviewers. Overall, it was a great lake home experience. Very relaxing! We would come back again!!

Nice home, but needs attention

Beautiful house with wonderful location and layout. House has many small things that need attention. Kitchen has bare minimums, but is missing several basics like a cutting board. TV didn’t work in rec room and it wasn’t addressed when I reached out. Water is too cloudy to drink and we had to purchase water. Close to Moneta by boat for trip to arcade and Mango’s.

Clean and quiet

This was a last minute booking. One snafu with Vacasa with them not being able to verify my ID via DL but with a quick phone call that was corrected. The home itself is nice and has plenty of space and amenities. The decibel reader is a little off-putting but I understand with VA laws being the way they are. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Great house and location/ poorly cared for

House is large and the set up is great with basement for teens. Kitchen is very poorly equipped without basics like a cutting board and adequate forks. TV in rec room didn’t work and local Vacasa staff never came. Tap water is extremely cloudy and we had to purchase drinking water. House needs gutters cleaned and genera maintenance outside. We got rid of a large hornet nest on the side deck. The lot and lake are everything you’d want and you are close to Moneta by boat. This would be a fantastic home if it was better cared for.

Great House

The house was nice. The biggest issue we had were the bugs. Every day, hundreds of gnat/fly like bugs were dead in the bathrooms (looking for water), spiders were everywhere and the kitchen was infested with ants from the second we walked into the home. We ended up having to keep all of our food in the fridge.

Beautiful lake stay

We loved our stay at SML. The water and views are to die for and we cannot wait to return. We cruised the whole lake and the end where the house is at was our favorite. We had a few minor cleaning issues with the house which were resolved quickly, however, the house could use a little refresh in terms of bathrooms, pain and mostly outside cleaning. The amount of spider webs and spiders on all doors, chairs and windows outside could be easily fixed with a leaf blower between stays. Also the trees facing the lake over the house drip sticky sap on the deck, probably a good powerwashing would be helpful. We loved our stay, SML is amazing. Thank you!

Smith Mountain Lake Stay

The lay out of the house is great, but there were a few things that needs attention. When we got there we found that microwave in the upstairs kitchen did not work at all and the oven did not work properly. We rented a boat and went to tie it to the dock and the cleat almost came off because the wood was rotten. We could not really enjoy the outside area due to being dirty. It will be a great home with some updates done to it.

Nice Stay

Nice location on the main channel. It was obvious that this location is "well-used" but we did stay at the very end of the season. Missed having some of the basic kitchen spices but we picked some up at the local grocery. We called about the non-working dishwasher in the upstairs kitchen but never heard back from the owners and it was never addressed while we were there. Had to hand wash dishes. All minor issues that didn't have much impact on our nice stay.

Good place

House is very nice and clean. It's sparsely decorated which gives the feel of a rental not a privately owned home but it's still very nice. Kids caught tons of fish off the dock. Nice sunset views. Kind of a bummer we could not use the boat lifts as it rained all week and it could have save us some time pumping the boat out! The water was high the week we were there due to flooding and lots of floating debris drifted to our shoreline, but we made the best of it. Weekends at the lake were busy but weekdays were quiet and had an easy time boating and fishing. I would stay here again.

Moneta Lake Home

This property is in need of exterior cleaning and maintenance. It has a very abandon in the woods feel with spiders and thick cobwebs all around the home including doorways, the siding coated in black dirt, the roof covered in leaves and broken tree limbs. The interior also requires some attention. The basic feel of the interior decoration is college dorm via 1990's thrift store, but that was not really at issue. Instead, maintenance is needed in this home (example, faucet kept falling off in our hand, under the sink hoses are hanging unattached, microwave display faded to the point that you can't read it, screen doors fall off tracks, etc). The position on the lake is very nice and if the property management/owner reengage with this particular home and bring it up to acceptable exterior cleanliness standards and interior working order it would be a lovely place to vacation. Otherwise, I would avoid this particular home. That said, Vacasa was easy to book through and there were no difficulties in the rental process.

Quiet Getaway

The overall stay was great. No major issues. The house is a little dated and seems to have been rented a lot. For example, stains in the tubs from years of use, appliance in main kitchen were a little worn (oven didn’t seem calibrated right and fridge/ice maker made lots of noises). Don’t forget to pack toilet paper, trash bags, and paper towels if staying a while. We did 3 nights and one roll per bathroom wasn’t enough for 6 adults. The wine glasses had a ton of water spots and just looked to worn to use. The coffee pot is basic and was not clean when we arrived. Speaking of cleaning, it seems as a surface cleaning had been done before we arrived - a long while before we arrived. Would have been nice to have had a sprucing before check in (cobwebs in bathroom) and made us question the type of deep cleaning that occurs between visits (trash under the leather chair, unclean coffee pot). Warning: The toilets seem wobbly in both guest bathrooms. Very sketchy in the downstairs bath.
