Comfortable, cottage, huge shade trees

This 3 bedroom, two bath house sits in a fenced tree covered yard. A front porch and a covered patio welcome you to sit outside and enjoy the great outdoors. It is convenient to the Post office, the bank and downtown. Just a short walk to the Nueces River for summer fun. Quince swimming hole is a very popular place to cool off in the summer. Wonderful, rugged hills with many day drives to explore the 3 Twisted Sisters (roads 335,336,337). Many people also enjoy arrowhead hunting and dark sky observations as well.
Inside the house is all newly remodeled. We affectionately call it the bunkhouse. It has an open fully furnished kitchen and Livingroom area. There is a round table that can be extended with 2 leaves giving you more room for a larger group. There are games to play. Each bedroom is equipped with bedding and places to put your luggage. Bathrooms are equipped with towels and toiletries. The only thing you need to bring is your food. You will be very comfortable here for your stay.

Wonderful Getaway !

Superb Bunkhouse Stay! Highly recommend!

First of all, the hostess Jenna is so nice! She readily permitted an early check-in, checked up on us via text, left us a fresh plate of cookies and even ensured that the exterior light was on for us one night. The house is great as far as amenities including a nicely equipped kitchen, coffee station and so many other niceties such as games, books, and blankets galore! I enjoyed sitting on the front porch every morning sipping my coffee. The house is decorated nicely and afforded my family and I a lovely stay. I cannot say enough good things about this little gem of a house.

We had a great stay at this property. We had all the necessary stuff and more. The host were great and communication with them was great as well. This property is located only 5 minutes away from the river and very close to restaurants and shopping. Will definitely visit this place again

Perfect

We enjoyed our stay at the cozy cabin. As a family we try to get out every summer to some amazing swimming spots. This year was the Neuces River. Plenty of space and beds.

We had the most amazing little getaway with the family ! The Hospitality, friendliness, cleanliness along with all the amenities of feeling right at home away from home right here at this beautiful place. Nueces River Waterfall Trip

This property was so nice and very clean. Our family enjoyed a day in the water and location was perfect. It's about 5 minutes way from the river, and the Family Dollar store is a minute walk. We were greeted by a personalized card from Jenna which was so nice! Bedrooms are great size and all beds are very comfortable. My family and I made memories and were able to go to the property and unwind and have a great BBQ and enjoy the evening. We will be back. Thank You

lovely home for our stay in TX

Our family gathered for the solar eclipse and found this home along the path of totality and were impressed by the detail and care the hosts put into their guest home. Hosts were responsive and generous with helping us a few extras and provided camp chairs, a cooler and tips on where to go in the area. There is a sweet swimming spot nearby we recommend. The home has all your needs, beds are comfortable, can walk into the small town and located on the main hwy to get to areas around the region to explore. thank you Jenna and Clayton!

Family Friendly Fun

My husband, teenage stepson and two small children stayed in this cozy cottage for Easter so my husband could hunt our hunting property during the day while still spending Easter with us. The small kids loved their room with two twin beds and all the coloring books and colors. The weather was amazing so they enjoyed spending time outside playing in the yard and going across the street to play at the park. I did a lot of cooking and enjoyed having so many utensils and appliances available. I used the waffle iron, stove, oven and the outdoor gas grill. Everything worked properly and with ease. Our teen appreciated the WiFi. The family dollar was also across the street for all our last minute needs. We would definitely stay here again.

End of the year Hunt 2023

It was more than we expected, it felt like home. The house was clean with three rooms, two of which were big. I love that the home also has 2 good size restrooms. The home is in a great safe location. We did not have to pack or bring linens, utensils, pots, pans, etc. because the house is fully equipped with all you need. We will definitely stay here again. The property owners were great to do business with, they were friendly and quick to respond to all questions I had prior to our visit. Donna

All the comforts of home. Large kitchen and well appointed. Dining area and living area were perfect. Laundry, outside huge porch, and the sizeable property is covered with live oak trees. 2 bdrms have king beds, the master with it's own bathroom. 3rd bdrm has 2 single beds and the couch is a queen sleeper. Easy access and the owners are great hosts. I loved my stay and plan on returning next year. I stayed 5 glorious nights with four days spent just down the road at the river. Perfect. 5 stars.

Clayton and I moved to Camp Wood from Cody, Wyoming. Traveling to Texas for family vacations for many years made us fall in love with the state and the people. Our years of experience doing property management, home inspections and service industries prepared us for taking on the total remodel of this old house and opening it as a guest house. We also have experience in repurposing and unique decor and the house is full of it.

It is in a beautiful, rugged part of the Texas Hill Country. Located right downtown. Close to many fun activities including fishing, hiking, river floating, swimming, star gazing, arrowhead hunting and beautiful drives.

There are many repurposed or vintage decorations in this house. Bedside lamps made from various items. Hanging light made from a canning jar or one that incorporates an old glass insulator. An old army trunk that once held ex-ray equipment is the coffee table. Vintage washstands, dressers or trunks that you are welcome to use for your suitcases. it is not pretentious but clean and comfortable.
