ADDED FEATURE: All PARTIES THAT BOOK AND STAY AT OUR HOME IN 2024 WILL BE ENTERED IN A DRAW ON Dec. 31st TO WIN Nestled in Haliburton Highlands, this extremely spacious open-concept double A-frame offers endless wonder to your family and friends.
As you open the door it welcomes you with warmth, character & endless wonder. The property is situated on a quiet lake, with a private dock allowing you to embrace the early sunrises and quiet evening sunsets.
The fully equipped kitchen with all appliances and a BBQ, along with furnishings, provide you with all you need. The property includes three main floor bedrooms, as well as two oversized loft bedrooms. It offers main floor accessibility, including a fully accessible washroom and ramp to the front door, plus a gentle slope to the lake and dock.
Indoor features starting from the basement include ping pong table, and pool table. On the main floor there is a dartboard, board games, puzzles, plus ample dvds and vhs tapes for all ages. The upper level has a shuffleboard table. Outdoor features include horseshoe pits, washer toss, 2 mountain bikes, 2 adult kayaks,1 children's kayak, 2 paddle boards, 1 canoe, peddle boat, 2 windsurfers and outdoor campfire pit. You may also choose to hike down the forest road, snowshoe, ice skate on the lake, or cozy up by the fireplace.
The nights are peaceful and rejuvenating, capturing and wrapping you with a silence that is rare. It's only a short 30 minute drive to Sir Sams Ski Hill, dog sledding, and 23 km to quaint Haliburton Village, with golf courses nearby.

Cosy chalet to enjoy a white Christmas and have fun at the same time

As soon as we open the door, we felt like home with a warm atmosphere. We spent quality time with family and friends, playing with the games and enjoying the fireplace.

Excellent Family Getaway.

Our group of 11 thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Plenty of water activities for the old and young, and many indoor activities for us all as well. Curtis was a generous and gracious host and attended to all our requests very promptly.

Family vacation on the lake

We had a fantastic time staying at this lakehouse! My favourite part was being on the water paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boating. The lake is beautiful! Curtis is a great host, very accommodating and communicated well with us all weekend. Would definitely go back!

Guys weekend away

Had a great stay at Curtis's playhouse. Check in was a breeze and the house was fully equipped for all our needs. No false advertising here, it truly was a playhouse. Told all our friends and family that this is a great spot for anyone looking.

Thank you Curtis for the amazing stay! There were many fun activities to enjoy with no moments of boredom, even when the rain started coming down. He was very friendly and communicative through the trip. We had a great time and can't wait to come back someday!

Amazing Stay

Our scout group stayed at this property for a Haliburton event weekend. We had a fabulous time. Curtis is very responsive, and accomodated our extra guests. We will certainly consider renting again in the future!

Great Stay!

Curtis was great at keeping in touch and responds quickly. He made sure the property was as shown, and it was clean and ready for guests. Our group had a fabulous time and the cottage was so fun! Would stay again for sure.

Beautiful Lake

The lake and dock were beautiful and there was a great selection of paddle boards and canoes and water toys to use. The cottage inside was clean and lots of space. Some areas need updating but overall a great stay!

Excellently appointed

A large variety of : games / dvd s/ kitchen equipment/ water toys . We had bad weather for the first three days and the grandchildren were happily occupied .

Great place to stay

Loved this rustic cottage! Curtis was very responsive to our questions and readily available. It was really nice that he left a few extra toothbrushes. His Japanese bidet toilet seat was amazing!

Weekend at the cottage

This place was perfect for our large group of friends. Very spacious and plenty to do around the property. The surrounding area is very scenic and we spent alot of time on the water and enjoying the dock. Would definitely consider coming back.

Cottage with lots to do

Great host and location, lake is very clear, great fishing and lots of things to do. There are three private sleeping rooms and many beds on the upper mezz. Everyone slept very well, washrooms on both levels were very convenient and all the games and activities inside made for a great time even in bad weather. the common area on the main level was well laid out for large groups and the swing chair in the middle was a big hit. Would definitely go back.

Great place for kids

Thank you Curtis we all had such an amazing time at your cottage, so many great DVD movies, boats and canoes, water was so clean and there was room for all of us to sit and sleep and be comfortable. Great March Break getaway

We had a great time at the cottage. Very comfortable and well appointed. Lots of games and activities to keep everyone entertained. The family room was awesome with a great wood stove. Curtis was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed walks up the cottage road as well as visiting the near by town of Haliburton. Definitely would come back again.

Good times

Stayed 3 nights, fully enjoyed the stay. This cottage has lots of character with many hidden details. Everything needed to have a good time is available. Nothing better than having a coffee watching the sunrise and a beer watching the sunset.

Family celebration

We were at Cutis’s lovely home for 3 nights over the Thanksgiving weekend. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with the kids and grandkids. There was something for everyone there! Everyone enjoyed the pool table and ping pong. It was fun to try shuffleboard and air hockey. The kids took out the canoe and a kayak and the young ones even had a quick dip in the lake. Others just fished. The whole area is beautiful, especially in the fall. We were very happy with our time together there.

Family reunion

INCREDIBLE

This cottage is labelled the fun house and it certainly is - the place has every game and movie you could think of - air hockey and darts and pacman and shuffle board and ping pong and pool but also tons of toys and boats down at the water and lots of other outdoor games. The host is the most lovely person who is so helpful and was just amazing. The swimming is amazing and the dock and the lake are fantastic. I would give this 5 stars - so much to do esp if it is raining and I would love to rent again The whole family just loved it. Thanks Curtis and family!

Long weekend on the lake

We had an amazing time at Curtis’ place! Extremely comforting, beautifully decorated, and full of things for us to do! Clean and easy access to the lake made our trip go extra smoothly! The dock was spacious for our group to chill around, and had lots of space for us to leave our jet-skis docked. Curtis is a phenomenal host, he was easy to communicate with, extremely nice, and was very thoughtful when we had any questions or concerns. Overall, an amazing place with an even more amazing host! Our group is excited for next season as we plan to book again!

Nice cottage with lots to do

Stayed here as part of a group of eight friends. The main room is beautiful and we loved hanging out there when we weren't sipping coffee on the dock. There was also plenty of space indoors and outdoors to spread out throughout the day, with lots of things to do (as described in the listing). Curtis was an excellent host -- very accommodating, communicative and generous with the check-in treats ;) We had a great time overall and would certainly recommend the place. Be aware, though, that this is an actual family-owned cottage, and as such, it isn't one of those pristine "investment properties" with coordinated linens, zero clutter, and so on. This place has personality and quirks (for example: good luck figuring out what half the light switches do). Bottom line: if a cozy, somewhat weathered and 100% authentic vibe is what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed.

A Long Weekend with Friends

Curtis is an exceptional host. He was welcoming, clear, and responded quickly with all communication. He made sure we had everything we needed and wanted us to have a great time in his space. The cottage has lots of character and you can tell is well loved by the family! It's a warm, rustic meeting place for family and friends- this is not a "white and grey, newly renovated McMansion" like many cottage rentals these days. Highlights of the rental include plenty of toys: movies for days, water toys, firewood, BBQs, everything you need to relax and have fun. The kitchen is well stocked, the many beds have clean bedding provided, and the bathrooms were both clean with lots of towels and toiletries. The lake access and swimming is fantastic. Great dock with chairs for hanging at the water. One note that was unclear to me from the listing is the bedroom division. There are three bedrooms on the main floor, plus a large loft that has many beds, which opens onto the living room. Something to consider if privacy and noise is an issue for your group. Overall, I'd highly recommend.
