Beautiful Getaway

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect being close to a small town, but still far enough in the woods to have peace and quiet.

Very Cute and Cozy Stay

Owner was very responsive and communicative. House was clean and welcoming. Enjoyed the fireplace and well equipped kitchen, would definitely stay again.

Clean quintessential VT cabin in a great location with beautiful views of the mountains off the porch. Ab was very responsive to any questions we had and checked in throughout our stay to ensure we were comfortable. 3 of us were racing in the VT 50 so the proximity to Ascutney Ski Area was perfect. We would all stay here again.

September 2023 Getaway

Excellent property located perfectly for our weekend of hiking and biking. Sitting on the porch in the morning and at night was perfection. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Ab!

Beautiful Home

What a great place! Conveniently located to multiple skiing options. Very clean and well appointed home. Outstanding communication from the host. We very much enjoyed our stay!

The Perfect Getaway

A great vacation home in an ideal location! We had a wonderful week exploring Vermont - exactly what was needed to recharge our batteries. Highly recommended and massive thanks to Ab for his engagement and flexibility.

The host, Ab, had great communication throughout our stay. The home was amazing for what we needed it to be and the pictures almost dont do justice to how cozy and beautiful it is! Great space in the yard for the dog, wondeful views, super nice kitchen and living room and bedrooms were perfect and also had an great view from the inside balcony next to the main bedroom upstairs. Definitely recommend staying here for all of the above reasons and can definitely see us staying here again! Stayed for 3 nights with a dog, young daughter, wife, and myself.

Cozy hideaway

Our stay at the Red Barn was more than we expected. The location was stupendous with awesome views of the mountains and countryside at every angle. The house is very clean with all the nice amenities you would want. The owner did everything to make our stay pleasant. We would definitely want to return.

Cozy and inviting

My husband and I stayed in the Red House for a long weekend. The communication leading up to and throughout our stay was exceptional. The home was warm and inviting with all the amenities you could ask for. We enjoyed exploring the area as well as relaxing by the fire with a movie. We will definitely be returning!

Great cabin and support

The cabin is beautiful. It’s not in my favorite location, but the property is great. Ab and his team are fantastic. Great support and very customer focused. Would absolutely recommend.

Christmas visit

We just returned from a four-day stay at the Red House and had a truly wonderful time with our adult children and other family members (staying nearby in Brownsville). The house is charming and comfortable with many unique touches, described repeatedly by our kids as “awesome”. What a lovely place to celebrate the holiday! Thank you!

Peaceful retreat

We connected with Ab last minute and were thrilled that the property was just as beautiful as described. We both needed a peaceful, relaxing and scenic spot to spend a week with our dog. The home was spotless and had everything we needed to make for a wonderful week. Spend great deal of time enjoying the view from the Adirondack chairs! Think we would love it in the fall too!

New house with an old vibe

We spent a relaxing week at the Red House, and really felt at home. Comfortable furniture, cool layout, well stocked kitchen materials, spectacular surroundings, isolated feeling even though there were houses fairly nearby. Ab was great about answering questions in a clear and timely fashion. Hope to stay there again in the near future.

A unique and stunning property

A really wonderful property. The set up of the main room is great. The indoor and outdoor space is well designed for both comfort and to appreciate the amazing views. I found this place to be even more beautiful than it was in the pictures. The host was very attentive and provided good information for us to have and responded quickly with any questions I had.

Ab and House were wonderful

Ab is a wonderful and responsive host. The house is great, unique and those views! We loved the central location to different ski resorts and Ascutney 2 min away…while not a full ski resort has its place (and price) to squeeze in a few runs. Kids got some sled riding in the back of the house. We’ll be back!

Daughters get together

My daughter and friends are all going away to college so I wanted to have one night for them to get together. Take some pictures. Have some fun and just enjoy each other.

This was a last minute (1 day lead) Instant Booking for an overnight stay for 3 and a getogether for 15 girls. The House is not meant for large groups and we dont allow parties at all, which I informed Amanda about. We are not equipped for a large party like this, but she had no other options and we could not cancel on her. We enjoy going the extra mile with little touches, as our other 5 star reviews from guests show, perhaps there were some shortcomings for this larger group.. Thanks!

We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and the amenities were top notch. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were in prestige condition. Ab checked in a couple of times to make sure we were ok. Stranded due to an ice storm but the driveway was salted/sanded just wasn’t sure about the roads. We skied Okemo about a 30 minute drive. The town of Windsor not far and a few convenient stores were close by. The views were spectacular and we played a few of the games as well. There were a few games but wish they had more, also the table was a bit of a challenge as far as fitting more than.a couple people but we made it work. Thank you Ab for sharing your beautiful home.

Great Winter Retreat

My sister and I plan an annual uphill ski weekend every year. We chose the Red House for its proximity to Mt. Ascutney. It is .2 miles from the Brownville Trail and less than 2 miles from Mt. Ascutney. The house is absolutely stunning with beautiful views of the mountains. A Jotul gas stove makes it warm and cozy and it was perfect for our outdoor adventures. Ab was wonderful and accommodating. We brought our dog and he LOVED it because there is so much land around the house we could just open the door and let him hang out on the porch. I would love to go back in the summer.

A slice of heaven

Exceeded expectations is all we can say. Everything was accurate from the pictures to the description of the house and property. But they don’t do it justice. What a beautiful place and the view is exceptional. Our family was truly sad to leave and that includes our 2 dogs. We had a great time exploring the area which included hiking, breweries and farms. The red house was central to everything and the hosts were incredible with communication and making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. In addition, they gave us tips on places to visit which were very helpful. I cannot say it enough about how beautiful and clean the house was. Vermont is such a great place to visit and we cannot wait to return. The red house would be our first choice to stay in the future.

Relax, Rest and Renew!

Our party of two with a lovely rescue dog LOVED our experience and the large porches that surround this adorable location. We used this location for some fun day trips to explore the surroundings and found it all so comfortable, quite and peaceful. We loved hearing the sheep BAHHHH next door from the pasture---and the views were all so pretty from inside and out. Great firepit--comfy couches, cute little hill perch and the ability to purchase great fresh meat, vegetables and fruit from Brownsville Butcher and Pantry, was perfect. Cooking, reading, and enjoying some down time was wonderful. Our favorite nearby town to explore was Woodstock--do not miss it! Just a reminder the bed is a queen size bed, so if you are used to a King bed, it will take a minute--so please read the descriptions well. Loved the feedback from the owner when we made a few personal suggestions to enhance the location that he already made-- great response! Definitely book this adorable place and enjoy the peace and serenity.
