My family was holding its annual reunion in Belleville. I rented the house in order to avoid the group hotel and to have a place to do some cooking for the weekend's festivities. The house was very cozy and exactly what I wanted. It was homey without the usual rental characteristics, such as a lot of instructional signs on every door or indicators it was outfitted on a dime from a trip to Ikea. I truly felt like it was "my" home while there. The house is certainly not fancy and lacks some amenities that others might consider deal-breakers, such as a dishwasher, but such things are not important to me, and I was very happy. I do appreciate the multitude of electrical outlets for charging various items. The kitchen was highly functional, and I was able to prepare food for 30 with no problem. The only drawback to the property is the location. The neighborhood is very quiet (a plus), but the house does seem a little isolated. If you need anything, such as supplies, etc., they are at least two miles away, and there is a lack of access to quality restaurants nearby.Patty, the host was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with, both before, during, and after my stay. She gets an A.
