Modern and fabulous tropical oasis, central to everything!

Make memories at this unique and family-friendly property in the heart of Audubon Park. Hang out in a tropical garden shaded by an enormous live oak, landscaped with lighting so you can enjoy the outdoors morning, noon, and night. The main house and separate cottage have cheerful and well-appointed spaces with plenty of room to spread out. You can't get any closer to neighborhood shops and restaurants. East End Market is a five-minute walk. Monday night farmer's market is on the corner.

The property is newly renovated and decorated by architect-owners, with a warm, tropical, modern vibe. Two primary bedroom suites lend privacy. The professionally landscaped garden with a huge oak tree, fire pit and outdoor dining area completes this unique vacation getaway spot.

The main house has a large open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space with tons of seating. The dining room table expands to seat eight, and the outdoor table comfortably seats ten. A separate TV room is perfect for movie night. The kitchen has brand-new stainless steel appliances and is outfitted with everything you need to cook for a crowd. The "cottage" - a separate structure steps away from the house - has its own kitchen and lounge space. You'll also love the large outdoor charcoal grill. Two large, deep couches are comfy enough to sleep on.

NOTE: The second bedroom and bathroom in the main house both have a step down and may not be appropriate for people with mobility issues. The second bathroom has a tub-shower with a low ceiling. Tall people will need to sit down in the tub and use the hand shower, or enjoy a soak. Bath salts and candles provided.

Great property in an even better location.

Very clean and well decorated with tons of space.super accurate listing. I would recommend for families and friend groups looking to stay in the best neighborhood in Orlando.

Great location and easy process

Had to make a last minute trip to Orlando and was able to book easy. House was everything as advertised and very short walk to everything we needed. Would stay again if back in the area.

Beautiful place to stay!

The pictures don't do the outside area justice - it is great! Owner has lots of fun things in and around the house that the stay that much better. Would highly recommend this house to others. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Fantastic Place

Whay an amazing place. It was very clean, modern, had everything we needed to feel at home and we appreciated the thoughtful touches. Communication with host was great. We would highly recommend this wonderful home and look forward to staying there in the future.

Great location and responsive host

We enjoyed our stay at Starlab immensely! The mid-century modern decor and home was unique and helped us to get into the vacation vibe despite working remotely in the comfortable work spaces that were available. When contacted our host Sara responded quickly in a super friendly manner. Lastly the location couldn’t be beat to walk to restaurants, bars and shops. We especially loved Neighbors, Redlight Redlight and Kelly’s ice cream. Hope we can visit again :)

Lovely place

We enjoyed everything about our stay here. The LP's were a specific favorite, as well as the location. We took advantage of the recommendations for local eateries and each one was fabulous. The backyard was magical. The kitchen was well stocked and the snacks provided were so appreciated after a long flight from Oregon.

Great space!

Great house , got everything we needed. Full of amenities, towels and utensils. Near to good restaurants and parks. 10 min by car to park ave, winter park. And other good residential places. Sara was a wonderful host! Totally recommend!

Superb!

Star Lab was perfect for our needs. The house was very clean and arranged in a useful way. It was well insulated and quiet. The beds were comfy! The separate guest cottage was the icing on the cake. It had plenty of dishes for making breakfast and grilling in the beautiful back yard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will DEFINITELY stay again if we are in the area.

Had Everything We Needed

We had three couples stay here for four days and it was the perfect amount of space and privacy for our group. We really didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. The cottage is a great feature. The back yard is really cool. This property had everything we needed. It is super close to downtown Orlando and about a half hour to the parks with toll roads.

Star lab Rocks!

The Star Lab house was a really cool spot. Perfect mix of modern, funky, and fresh. Cool furniture, awesome outdoor space and the location is great. You can walk to about anything you need. The hosts were great too and even left fresh cookies from a nearby store for us upon arrival. Kitchen was well stocked. The separate casita in the rear is great if you are traveling with parents or grandparents that prefer their own space. When we return to Orlando, we will definitely stay at the Star Lab again.

Beautiful & Spacious

The Tropical Oasis was an excellent stay for 3 of us in town for work. The beautiful property is immense; I wish he had more time to use the backyard. The house is modern and well decorated with lots of little details everywhere. The bedrooms in the main house are spacious, and the 3rd bedroom is an entire apartment in the backyard. This place would be perfect for a couple of families or a small group of friends. Sara was a great host and even left us a box of local cookies upon arrival. The Tropical Oasis was a wonderful stay for us, and we highly recommend it and hope to stay here again.

Fantastic Location

Location location location! Terrific coffee shops, restaurants, and bars all within an easy walk from this home. The house is old-style Florida but has been somewhat updated with a modern vibe and feel. The backyard is well landscaped and equipped with a firepit, charcoal grill, and a separate cottage. A 7-11 and an ABC liquor store within 1/2 block make items forgotten no worries. The record player was a hoot with my kids and grandkids; kitchen amenities are good with a full coffee and tea service provided. However, note that the step-down mentioned in bedroom #2 and bath #2 is definitely not for those with mobility issues, and maybe even smaller younger kids. The steps are quite shallow in depth and can be hard to negotiate in the dark. Note also that bath #2 with the lower ceiling in the tub area is really very low, and even short adults and tall kids won't be able to use the shower in that bathroom. Great and easy communication with the owners, and easy checkin and checkout. Certainly recommended - just be aware of bed & bath #2!

Just a Fabulous Orlando GEM!

Just a Fabulous Orlando GEM! May I just say . . . from the second we opened the door, it was an OHHHHHH MYYYYY JOE moment! The vibrant style, the decor, the color palette, the scale of furnishings, the art just welcomed one in. The home beckons . . . explore me! Starlab was thoughtfully curated for family and gathering. Games, LPs, books, exquisite treats, and extraordinary spaces to cozy up in the primary space. Crazy amazing outdoor environment with a little bit of tree climbing : P Amenities galore . . . beverage nook, an abundance of towels and accoutrements, and the sleekest washer and dryer I have ever laid eyes on. The local area is so has a plethora of “foodie” worthy eats and gluten-free options. Thank goodness we brought our Yeti for leftovers! In a tourist city that abounds in vibrant activities, our family found pure and simple contentment just bunking in and being enveloped by the fabulousness of the home. Starlab and the fabulous hosts provided an incredible space that was immensely and thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you with Love!

We left the cold north three years ago to make our way to sunny Florida and have never looked back. We live in Winter Park with our two boys. We love exploring Central Florida and especially enjoy nature walks with our friendly goldendoodle, Lily. We take great pleasure in creating warm modern spaces that are welcoming and cheerful and are always happy to share suggestions for dining, shopping and exploring Winter Park, Orlando and beyond.

We have been told that STARLAB was used by the previous owners to host events with local artists. We think the property has retained some of its rock-and-roll legacy, which helps create its cool and relaxed vibe. Our favorite spot is the Adirondacks under the huge live oak tree - the perfect place to relax with coffee or cocktails.

You may never want to leave STARLAB but if you do, you are ideally located for exploring vibrant Audubon Park. Leave your car parked - everything is a short walk away. Stardust Coffee is steps away for perfect lattes or an evening drink. Don't miss the farmer's market on the corner on Monday nights - get the sourdough wood fired pizza, you won't be sorry. You will not want to miss Salty Donuts, Domu and Neighbors at East End Market, and Bem Bom for Portuguese food al fresco. Redlight Redlight for fresh local beer and Junior's Diner to treat your hangover the next day. The Lovely is a lovely vintage shop with clothes and housewares and The Neighbors - upstairs in East End - is a treasure trove of local handicrafts. Did you know that Orlando is one of the best places in the country to get vegan food? If that's your jam don't miss the Winter Park Biscuit Company for vegan comfort food that even your carnivore friends will love.
