Ladyslipper – Cozy Cottage with Loft in Blue Hill town center

Welcome to LadySlipper, one of two handcrafted cottages, tucked side-by-side, minutes from picturesque Blue Hill. Available individually, each cottage features a central living space with studio style living, opening out onto a deck. A ships ladder leads to a loft bedroom. While these cottages are easily reachable from the road, they back onto a scenic blueberry barron teaming with wildlife and color. Perfect for a weekend get-away for 2 or long term retreat for remotely working from home.

The space

LadySlipper is off the main road and has two floors. A central living area with a full kitchen and bath with a washer and dryer. There is a sturdy ships ladder to the loft bedroom, which has a queen bed, dresser and hanging clothes storage. The house has concrete stained floors, comfy rugs. The 8 ft sliding door goes out to the deck facing the scenic blueberry field.

Guest access

Guests have full access to the cottage and deck as well as parking area out front.

Other things to note

Winter note: Ellsworth Rd is regularly plowed and sanded. Driveway and parking area is maintained regularly by host for guests.

The Ladyslipper was perfect for our visit to the Blue Hill Fair. The location, space, and peaceful setting enhanced our experience. The house is clean, the bed in the loft is very comfortable, and the house is fully equipped for a great stay in the area.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. Perfect location to go to Acadia and downeast and also close to center of Blue Hill. Deer island and Stonington were also close.

Excellent stay

Really loved a few days at the Cozy Cottage. My son and I travelled through North East and stayed there while visiting Acadia National Part. This cottage is much better in person than on the Vrbo pictures. It is spacious, clean, modern and not that far away from the Park. We really loved the view from the full wall of glass in the back - wild turkeys and deer were in the open field every morning. My son slept upstairs, while I used the pull-out couch which was very comfortable. Wonderful place to stay!

Awesome place to stay!

We stayed for a few days while hiking in Acadia and it was perfect for us. A little bit of a drive from the park, but was a great retreat each night. Everything was super clean and there were plenty of amenities. The host was super informative and very nice. Id totally recommend this rental to anyone!!

Adorable cottage

We stayed the weekend while we were in town for a wedding. The location was perfect and the rental was great. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again if in the area in the future

Serene cottage in Blue Hill

What can we say, we had a lovely stay at the LadySlipper cottage in Blue Hill. Honestly, we wish we would've had more time to spend on vacation in Maine. The proximity of this cottage to Acadia and Bar Harbor was perfect for us and the amenities of Blue Hill were nice to have at our fingertips as well. We would definitely stay again!

Perfect quiet getaway in Blue Hill

I loved my stay at Ladyslipper! The space is very well laid out, quiet, and clean. The full kitchen is nice with all the necessary tools. Blue Hill is a wonderful place and not as crowded as other coastal areas of Maine. I'm definitely planning my return trip!

Blue Hill Gem

I really enjoyed my stay at Lady Slipper Cottage. Adam, the host, was kind and responsive from when I first booked and all during my stay. The cottage has been thoughtfully designed and lovingly built. It was clean, comfortable, and the view from the back deck was a fantastic. I would love to stay there again someday.

Winter Getaway

Great aesthetic. Proximal to beautiful classic Maine nature.

Check in process was a breeze. Owner was available if anything went wrong, not that anything did. The view out the back is great. Enough nearby to do but more importantly a short drive into Acadia.

About Adam and Landere

I live with my wife Landere and 16 month-old Sylvan in beautiful Blue Hill, Maine. Landere works at a land conservation organization in Blue Hill and I build houses for folks. I play music and do photography in my spare time, she paints botanical illustrations and we both enjoy hiking, being outdoors in Nature and working in the garden.

Derfor valgte værten dette overnatningssted

Growing up, I always was curious about the old white farmhouse up on Greens Hill. Years later, my sister ended up buying it and we renovated the historical house, giving it new life. Afterwards, I designed and built these two small houses next door. The spot is very special and Blue Hill is a very special place.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

LadySlipper is very close to Blue Hill, the Blue Hill Fairgrounds and an easy drive to Ellsworth and Acadia National Park. Also, Blue Hill Mountain is minutes away, which is a wonderful hike to a fantastic view!
