A brilliant place to stay. The hot tub on the deck was a favourite of the children, and the peace and quite (once the children had gone to bed!) was a favourite with the adults.

Golden house

This place was awesome! When we came it was really clean beautiful views and area! Everything we needed was there. Definitely recommend this place if your looking for somewhere to enjoy a holiday!!

Cozy cabin

It was an amazing experience to sit in the hot tub and hear the wolves howling. Loved the cabin, it was perfect for our family.

Pleasant mountain get away

We loved the location for exploring around golden for a couple days with the kids. It is in close proximity to the wolf sanctuary, the golden skybridge and for exploring downtown golden. Although it wasn’t open, going up the gondola to the eagle eye restaurant is highly recommended should you get a chance.

Early family Christmas

We planned an early family Christmas, between Salmon Arm and Calgary. We had an amazing weekend and made wonderful memories at a fabulous location. Lots of room and the views were absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend!!

Great place to stay in the Canadian Rockies

We stayed at the property at the end of July with 5 adults and 5 kids. The house was clean and lived well. The kids enjoyed the tree house and trampoline. Despite having the max occupancy of 10 the house still seemed spacious and worked well. We had all of our morning and evening meals in the house and the kitchen was well stocked for utensils, pots, pans, etc. The amount of bath towels was not a problem for our group, to the point that the count was not on my radar. The views from the living area, hot tub, and meal table are excellent. We enjoyed having morning coffee while looking out at the sunrise on the mountains.

Was a decent stay but wouldn't go back

Apon arriving it looked like we had maybe got to the wrong place as the curb appel was not what the online pictures made it out to be,the out door fire area we wish we could have used but everything was so over grown.Unfortunately the neighboring areas made it feel alot more thrasher and the one neighbor put on a nightly band performance,so what at first felt like a secluded area definitely wasnt. The veiw tho was breath taking and hearing the wolfs in the morning was a amazing experience!! The inside you can tell they have done some quick diy and for the price some extra money should be spent on updating.i feel terrible writing this but i think people should be aware and not shocked like we were when we arrived.If youre just going there to sleep and not there to juat stay on the property then its a decent spot.

Hot tub was unusable

The location was beautiful but the hot tub was filthy upon our arrival. It is clear that it has not been properly maintained. The water was discoloured, there was a visible film on the tub, and the water smelled terrible. This was incredibly disappointing because we chose this particular property because we wanted to use the hot tub. We were unable to fully enjoy the rental because of this.

What a view!

What a gorgeous location this is... breathtaking view right from the cabin, close to Golden and best of all, little/no cell reception. If you're looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is it. Stayed for a week with our toddler, lots of fun to be had right on the property itself. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a nice getaway in the mountains.

Tranquil slice of heaven

This property is securely tucked away with an unobstructed view of the mountains. It was a great space for four couples to stay and it everything we needed, including ample living and kitchen space. You can’t beat the privacy, space, and beauty of this spot. The hot tub was such a bonus after a day of skiing. We will be back!

Quiet and beautiful

Beautiful serene location, great view of mountains and very private. Very convenient location near several national parks as well as local activities - we particularly enjoyed Braeberry river and Thompson falls. It's not very far from trans Canada highway, but you wouldn't know it. House has everything you need and kitchen is well stocked. Wifi didn't work one night, but was nice to have for checking weather and making plans. Overall it was exactly what we were looking for and was very hard to leave such a beautiful area.

Nice secluded spot with an awesome view.

We enjoyed our stay tucked into the woods with a beautiful view of the mountains. The children enjoyed the trampoline and the hot tub was a hit with all. The mosquitos are vicious but that is beyond the host control. You are in the wilderness. There were not any paper towels or napkins so be sure to bring those. The one major drawback that the host can easily fix would be to provide more towels. A supply of nice bath towels would be very much appreciated. The location was nice, close to groceries and the roads to take you to all the sights.

Great option for Golden-area home base

We enjoyed this home. It's quaint and a bit creaky like you might expect of a cabin, and has limited TV (only in the master) for a smoky or rainy day but a nice view and the property's got some fun things for the kids. Overall it's pretty easy to use, the manual is clear enough.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. As other guests have commented the views towards the mountains were lovely. The photos on the website are rather dated, the garden is overgrown compared to the photos and we found the mosquitoes a nuisance - probably not helped by the undergrowth. The house itself is a bit tired. It’s a wooden construction with no insulation between the rooms and the floors. We were disappointed by the cleanliness of this house, particularly the kitchen; the stove was dirty on the top and inside, the cupboard and draw shelves were dirty and we had to wash the oven trays and pans before we used them. The bin under the sink hadn’t been emptied and there was rubbish lying around it in the bottom of the cupboard. There was no internet for the first 36 hours, but in fairness to Robin, he did take immediate action on this. While we appreciate finding some staples in the fridge and cupboard, some of these were out of date.

Great place, all the amenities one would need. The views are amazing, Hot tub was great after a long day of skiing. Great location short drive to Kicking Horse. Not that far From Revelstoke either. Worth the 1.5 hour drive to get there.

The Harnetts live in Calgary and Golden is our mountain playground. Our girls are aged 7, 3 and 1. In the winter we love to ski and in the summer you will often find us running around in the woods.
