Excellent location to enjoy the mountains, wildlife and quick trips to the hot spots. The fireplace was a bonus after days of touring.

WonderfulLocation was quiet and very beautiful views of the mountains. Wonderful mornings having coffee on the deck watching elks and their babies. The house was very beautiful and comfortable, had everything we neededWould stay here again

What a beautiful location and property! Perfect for our family of 5, wildlife all around us, and convenient for hiking, sightseeing, Red Rocks, and events in Denver. Great communication from our hosts as well!

Charming house and grounds w/abundant wildlife. Well stocked kitchen with spices and cookware/bakeware. Lots of natural light throughout the home. Lovely outside deck w/tables and chairs. Large washer and dryer is so convenient to have. Lots of history to the property. The living room has a wonderful working fireplace. There is a library cabin on the property that is so cute - lots of dvd’s, puzzles, and books to enjoy.

Just an FYI in case you miss it, there is no A/C in this home. The first few night were fine but as it warmed up it was a little hot the last night we stayed. Being from Texas and in my 50’s, I really need a/c. This is nothing against the host, just an overlook on my part. The winter time would be great as the upstairs bathroom has a huge skylight that warms everything. It was a great trip and everything was accessible and clean. Beds were comfortable and location was our main concern and this place is so conveniently located to so many places. We saw deer and chipmunks and luckily no bears. I would definitely stay again but not in July. Thank you for hosting us!!

This mountain cottage is clean and comfortable, with character and nice light in a very pretty setting.Kitchen is nice and well-appointed. Hosts are accessible, warm and helpful. The wood stove fireplace and the heated bathroom floor upstairs makes things cozy. We enjoyed our visit and would be glad to return but a couple of caveats for others to consider: The en suite bathroom was great for a couple, but would be less ideal for guests in the other upstairs bedroom (second bathroom is downstairs). The windows and skylights look out on pretty scenery, but be ready for morning light to enter the bedroom pretty early!

Relaxing get-a-way close to nature

This cabin is just what we were looking for! Unique, away from the hustle, but close to so many great excursions! The host, Pamela, was friendly and very responsive. Highly recommend!

Great mountain stay

Wonderful mountain neighborhood with lots of wildlife - deer, hummingbirds, even a fox! We really enjoyed all of the outdoor spaces and the little library cabin. The home was very spacious, updated, and well-appointed. The location is unbeatable with grocery stores close and one of the best scenic drives in the country nearby.

Beautiful relaxing home

We loved staying at this property. We woke up at sunrise each morning and sat on the back deck witch coffee and watched the sunrise and enjoyed the beautiful views. The bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable and so are the pillows! Which is normally an issue for us, but this was perfect. Pamela was very responsive and they really have thought of everything. The location is absolutely beautiful!! We would highly recommend this property.

We enjoyed our 4 ½-day stay at this “cozy spot at Rocky foothills.” The house was fully furnished with all necessary items. We lacked nothing. The quiescent environment in and outdoors made for the much-appreciated silent retreat that further fortified our 41-year matrimony. Stores like Safeway for groceries, Walmart for necessities and Starbucks for cold comfort are a quick, short drive from the house. We completed a puzzle together, made and took our meals together in the house, watched a few old movies, read, edited catechism material for future instruction and prayed together undisturbed and without pressing concerns. The bed, linen and covers were perfect, the evening especially serene and the mornings beautiful as the sun rose over the mountains and through the forest while birds chirped the dawn. There is an especially nice and cozy library cabin operating as a book exchange a la take a book, share a book basis on the property. A handful of the authors among the hundreds of books include Dante Alighieri, Michel de Montaigne, James Michener and Shakespeare. They make for great reading. Communication with the homeowner was consistent and especially cordial and helpful. We were assured of their prompt response if the need arose which never did.

I particularly appreciate your description of the peace and even prayerful meditation that is enhanced. The living room was the chapel cabin in the late 1930s when the community was building a road over the mountains to Idaho Springs! The library, as a one room cabin, was the home of the community pastor. I am sure the trees, wild life, rock outcroppings, including semi-precious milky quartz so prevalent in the area, added to the serene experience. We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at this serene VRBO in Evergreen, Colorado. The mountain location is gorgeous, and the host was exceptionally responsive, making our trip seamless. The kitchen was remarkably well-equipped, even stocked with essential oils and spices.A few helpful details for future guests:Staircase Design: The main bedrooms are on the second floor, reached via a winder-style staircase with narrow, pie-shaped treads. Navigating these with luggage can be challenging for anyone with mobility or knee issues.Warm Weather & AC: As noted in the listing, the home does not have air conditioning. On warm summer days in the mid-80s, the interior warms up and takes several hours to cool down once evening temperatures drop into the 60s.High Altitude: At over 7,000 feet, the elevation can be an adjustment. We experienced mild symptoms like fatigue, loss of appetite, and trouble sleeping. Consider picking up local canned oxygen or pacing your ascent if you're coming from lower elevations.Overall, it's a lovely, well-equipped property with fantastic hosts. As long as you are prepared for mountain stairs and high altitude, it makes a wonderful base for a Colorado getaway!

We loved our quiet stay in Evergreen! The house was just as described with a beautiful view! We saw some wildlife right outside the dining room window and many Elk along the way in the beautiful meadow. It was also just a short drive to town for groceries. The owners were very responsive and had everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful stay in the mountains.
