Great stay! The Christmas decorations and the welcome gifts were a nice touch! We will definitely stay here again when visiting Roanoke!

Coming from out of state you never know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Close to many stores & restaurants. Hosts were in constant contact if needed . The place was not only clean inside but outside as well. Had an enjoyable stay.

In a great location with the amenities we were looking for! We used the fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the kitchen and it was nice to have that area for our snacks. We only used one bedroom downstairs but with the two upstairs rooms it seems like a good house for a small group. Our bed was comfortable and it was a quiet neighborhood. The house was also decorated for Christmas, which was a sweet touch.

We had a lovely stay at this unique gem of a home just steps from downtown. Oustanding location on a cute street! The house is filled with character and had everything we needed for a few days spent with family for Thanksgiving. Lots of sweet touches, including a fun box of holiday socks from the host.

Great short stay in town

The host was very communicative. The home was clean and everything was exactly as advertised. We are grateful for the lovely home that allowed us to bring our dog to a family wedding.

Says sleeps 6. Only 3 beds and 1 couch, beds are full beds so 2 adults is tight. Sleeps 4 comfortably… but only 1 bathroom which was a challenge. It worked for us because we were in a softball tournament all weekend and so really we were only at the house to sleep. But if you plan on spending a lot of time at the house, it’s not great for entertaining.

This property is in a great location with easy parking and accesibility downtown. The neighborhood has historical charm, and while the house is definitely older it does have basic amenities. My only 2 added comments are the kitchen isnt very well stocked if you were looking to cook (they did have a little coffee bar though!) And the beds are very soft, so not the most comfortable for adults!Nonetheless, the host was very responsive about towels and additional items for our stay.

Hidden gem

Perfect for place for us and priced reasonably. Owner was responsive and helpful, keyless check in made it easy, location was convenient, house was charming and pool table was an excellent addition. We live in a different state but have a daughter that has relocated to the area and we will try to use this home for all our future visits and stays in the area.

Comfortable and Clean

This was a great space for my sons and me to use as home base for a holiday family visit. Close to downtown, supermarkets, and a view of the Star from the side yard. The pool table is a great plus if you have teens!!

Loved it

We loved the house. It’s near downtown so close to everything. Great coffee selection to use with the Keurig. We use to live a few streets over in the same neighborhood, so it was nice to be back in our old stomping grounds. Great price for what you get!

Cute Old Home

It was really cute even though it’s slanted. Definitely has that old home character. With it being an older home, things like tripping a breaker when the stove is on, washer running and space heaters on, happens. The service guy was great. We enjoyed it.

Great place to stay for a long weekend

My Dad and I stayed here overnight after a Virginia Tech football game and had a great experience! Very clean and had everything that we needed for a quick overnight stay. We plan on going back for future games, as it would easily accommodate my wife and kids as well. Jim, the host, was on point in responding to any questions I had for him too! Overall, great experience with no complaints

Strongman weekend

House worked very well for us. It is clean and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking. It is an easy walk to the park where the competition was held and to many excellent restaurants and shops. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Floors of the house are slanted as stated many places.

This property was a disappoint. It has potential because of location and historical district. It is not elderly friendly due to the steep stairs and multi levels on the ground floor. The oven would not work and the manager supplied a new oven the same day but it would not work either. It appears the electric panel was installed incorrectly. Then discovered only one fire alarm worked. The dining table was broken and both end table. Not enough seating in the living room for the number of people advertised to stay. Bath water was lukewarm. Mattresses upstairs rolled to the middle. Air conditioner was not working properly but think that is an electric panel issue also. There is only one exit in the event of a fire. I have usually had really good luck with VRBO but not this time.

Nice place

We came in for the marathon and just needed a place to stay.it was walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. Furniture was kinda cheap and the pool table was useless. But excellent for what we needed.

Slight Slant

The property does have a slight slant on the first floor which can be fun after a few adult beverages. The house was clean and provided all the things i needed. The host communicated the door number the morning off as promised. The only complaint i would have is the pool table is too big for that room and the dart board is missing the darts. I would rent this house again next time I'm in Roanoke.

Good - The house is in a nice location to be able to walk places, the street is mostly quiet, and traffic is super reasonable.Neutral - the house is seriously wonky. Maybe don't book it if you have balance issues.Bad - One of the towels had a brown stain on it which didn't set us up to feel clean, one of the AC vents upstairs wasn't blowing so the room was hot, the beds are small and so soft that you feel like you're falling off the edge if you get close to it, there's an EMS station at the end of the block so there are sirens at random times, and there was a family of skunks living under the porch/downstairs bedroom. To expand on that last one, every day from about 5pm-9am, there were 3 skunks walking around the yard. I accidentally scared one and watched it retreat around the house and climb under the porch, where it looks like they live. Going outside felt like rolling the dice on getting sprayed and you could faintly smell them all night. On our first night, one sprayed under the house and the bedroom smelled horrible for hours. I contacted the host and he did respond quickly saying he'd address the problem but we left too soon to see if anything came of it.If it wasn't for the skunks it would have been a decent stay with a few annoyances, but the fear of stepping outside and the constant smell seriously detracted from our stay. If someone removed the skunks and installed a barrier under the porch, it's not a bad stay. Bring your own towels.

A Slanted Stay

The owner or property manager never sent any check in or check out information. We were waiting outside the property for an hour after check in time. The entire house is slight slanted, leaning to the left. The furniture appears nice, however, much of it is barely holding together. The coffee table in the living room has a sheared leg. The kitchen table is wobbly and missing certain fasteners to keep it from doing so. Some of the couch pillows were ripped. The shower temperature control fixture is installed backwards. There is also only one entrance/exit to the whole house, which is inherently unsafe. It is a convenient 5-10 minute walk to most things downtown. Its location is the most appealing part of it. The beds are very comfortable and the AC is pleasant. The kitchen comes equipped and it is also very nice. Spacious fridge and nice TVs. The pool table is fun, but again, with the whole house slanted, it does not function normally.
