Hidden Gem on the North Shore

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our fourth visit to St. John and our first to Terrahawk; it will not be our last. It's a beautiful villa within walking distance (rare in STJ) to the stunning and secluded Gibney/ Oppenheimer Beach. It's a very short drive to the other North Shore beaches, so you can beat the crowd to a parking spot. Cruz Bay is also very close.I was so impressed with how well-appointed the kitchen was- in addition to the usual things, it had an electric tea kettle, cheese grater, citrus juicer, toaster oven (and toaster)... everything you need. One thing not listed in the description of the villa that's important to mention- it has a Tesla wall, so you have back-up power. Sunsets from the deck were incredible- wouldn't change a thing, other than staying longer!

Perfect, peaceful location with beautiful views and easy beach access! Highly recommend renting a 4x4 car as the driveway and surrounding areas have some steep hills.

The house was beautiful and the host was great. We had one rather significant problem - the couch had a decent amount of bugs underneath all the pillows and in all of the seams.

The location as the added bonus of being above the entrance to Oppenheimer Beach so you have your own "private beach." The two-bedroom layout was excellent. The facilities were excellent, and you could easily cook and grill whatever you liked. The staff was amazing, and the house was very clean. I would highly recommend a stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We know and love Gibney Beach in Hawksnest Bay - great beach, never crowded, great for swimming and Terrahawk is just above that beach. Terrahawk is set on the hill overlooking the bay, a few minutes walk down to the beach (note: steep climb back up, not for people with limitations). The house/villa is perfect, great layout and furnishings, including a terrace overlooking the sea. Definitely would rent again.

First time on St. John

We enjoyed our stay here. The view was magnificent and it was across the street from Oppenheimer Beach. it bears noting that the driveway is very steep and can become slick when wet. there is one cab company on the island with smaller cabs which can come up the drive and you will need to reach out to them for rides if you don’t rent a car. The home itself is very striking, and the tiled showers with openings to the outside are an added bonus.

From start to finish, our experience was wonderful. The team communicated with us quickly and provided all the information we would need for our stay. Jhelisa met us at the Starfish Market after we picked up our jeep/groceries and led us to the property. She was very thorough with her tour and answered all of our questions. The photos are a great representation of the villa but you can't really appreciate it until you are there! Stunning view. Comfortable beds, couch and outdoor furniture. Fully equipped kitchen. The high ceilings rock feature wall are beautiful. It is so bright and cheerful! The bonus is being right across from Oppenheimer Beach so you can literally walk to the end of the driveway and cross the road to get to a beach. The snorkeling there is great too! We saw turtles and loads of tropical fish! This place is a truly a 10 out of 10 stay and if I ever come back, I will be staying here.

There's a beautiful view there (potentially) A little trimming would help. Being able to walk to Oppenheimer was great.

Terrahawk Treasure

Terrahawk is a special spot with perhaps the best location on St. John. Imagine having your own almost private beach with great snorkeling just a very short walk away! The small home is perfect for two or three. Furnishings are comfortable and the kitchen works very well for nights in. A/C and WiFi work perfectly and water for showers is always hot. The ideal location makes it easy to simply hail a safari taxi from the driveway to visit other North Shore Beaches and be dropped off at the same spot at day’s end. The drive to Cruz Bay is under ten minutes too! You could easily - and happily - spend your entire visit at Terrahawk and Oppenheimer Beach and go no where else! A gem!

Great house with a couple of quirks

The house was exactly as advertised, clean, well stocked and comfortable. The location was perfect, literally a three minute walk down the driveway to the beautiful Oppenheimer Beach. The only issues we had were that there was no hot water and that the internet went down. I called maintenance three times and they came out twice, but were unable to fix the water problem. Initially we thought it would not be a big deal, but when my husband became ill, the cold showers became very annoying. When the internet went down we had to drive into town to call maintenance. Note, we were told that they had recently installed a new water heater, but beware, it is not working properly. I'd suggest putting a claue in your contact.

Great House in a Great Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 4th trip to St. John, each with a different villa. While all have been nice, this is the first one we will definitely be coming back to in the future. The location on the North Shore just above Oppenheimer Beach was ideal and made the whole vacation a breeze. 6 minutes to Cruz Bay and 10 minutes to Maho Bay. Almost everything you'd want is within a 10 minute drive, and you can walk down to the beach in 2 minutes without getting into your car. It just made everything easier, we could be more spontaneous, and we just had more time to do everything we wanted to do.The house itself was very nice, and suited our group very well with a central room and kitchen and two bedroom suites with outdoor showers on opposite sides. Big TV and comfy couch was nice for watching movies after a long day at the beaches. You could hear the waves from the beach, and we kept the sliding glass doors open (with screen doors) most of the time while we were up. The view is good, but not great. You can see the water, Caneel and beyond, but being down low and amongst the trees, you don't get the majestic views I've had at other villas. But, the location was well worth this small trade off.The renting experience with Catered To was smooth and easy, and the home itself was well stocked with beach items, towels and even some snack food and drinks.Again... you can not beat this location. We will stay here again in the future.

It is super quiet and secluded (about 15 minutes from town). We really like this property. It is walking distance to one of the prettiest beaches in Hawknest Bay where multiple turtles roll in during sunset. One of my favorite things about this place has to be the outdoor-covered shower, and the porch! The stars at night are amazing! You'll definitely need to rent a car. The driveway is pretty steep, so I would recommend a 4w drive just in case.

Need some safety things done. South bathroom sink barley drains, lights burned out on outside stairs, need more kitchen towels than 3 for 9 days, need dish cloth, there is an disturbing loud sound in the south bedroom at random times all night. Has great view, nice furniture, and other accessories. Fantastic location have stayed there 3 different years.
