Welcome to Beach Bear & Beach Cub - a bright, comfortable combo unit (main & guest house)for families, friends, and larger groups. Previously known as Life's a Peach & Made in the Shade, these homes are very popular with guests - many of whom request them year after year.

It's the perfect pair, shaded beneath the tallest trees in Beachwalk Resort. Gather your group of all ages and hang out on the wrap-around porch, watching the shooting fountain in Waterfall Park. A wooden walkway connects both houses, with a private shaded deck between them for lounging and watching the little ones. Both homes are great for those who need to avoid stairs, with main bedrooms on the first floors.

INDOOR GATHERING SPACE
Both the main and the guest house feature an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings with high windows for a delightful space filled with rays of sunshine. Perch on the stools around the kitchen island in the main house for lively conversation while cooking in the fully equipped kitchen. Gather your gang around the large, round table in the dining area for a holiday meal or game night. Later, chill-out in the cozy living room with its two plush sofas and enjoy the warmth of the gas fireplace and the high-definition smart TV. Rain or shine, day or night, the spacious screened-in, covered patio with its own TV lets you enjoy the outdoors—indoors, for cocktails with friends or relaxing with your favorite music and a good book.

Continue past the screened in porch to relax around the fire pit after a day spent at the beach.

LOCATION
Located in Beachwalk Resort just a short walk to the Sandcastle Playground and all resort amenities.

Private Lake Kai with sandy beach inside the resort, with direct path access across Lake Shore Drive to Sheridan Beach on Lake Michigan. 4ft heated pool*, toddler pool*, basketball court, tennis court, bocce ball court, shuffleboard, Sandcastle playground, putting green, paddle boarding and kayaking*, catch and release fishing. Parking Passes ($5 each) and Wristbands ($15 each) are required for all guests ages 4 and up mid-May through September.

Parking for 2 regular sized cars at the home, please do NOT block neighbors parking or access. Parking for trailers and boats is prohibited. Overflow parking lot available for additional cars.

The outdoor areas were not kept up. The screened in porch was dirty and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. There was an upper kitchen cabinet door that was broken off its hinges, toilet paper holder in the lower bathroom looked like it was ripped out of the wall. The house needs some attention

Comfortable Home with lots of amenities

Beautiful home with guest house. Enjoyed fishing from the pier, access to Lake Michigan, and swimming.

The house was Very clean and a good quiet location. We were close to backdoor of Beachwalk and parking, and loved the golfcart to taxi shuttle/people to the beach. We enjoyed the outdoor seating, screened porch, and large dining table for games/meals. Everything worked and staff in office helpful. We used our 2 air mattresses and sofabed, because teenagers and adults could not share smaller beds. Advertised sleeps 18, but that’s only true if they are very small children. Houses not big, but well-equipped. Would rent again!

Yeah, right -If you are sardines. Not adequate for a large group. not enough seating, beds are flimsy and uncomfortable, refrigerator doesn't work properly and large groups needs lots of food and drink - you'll be spending money on ice and coolers. Place is dirty inside and out. Dirty floors upon arrival, dirty outside - needs to be power washed - needs upkeep on landscape and around fire pit. Outdated appliances, cheap furniture. Playgroup that was closed the whole week, lake was closed due to ecoli. Pool is not big enough for a resort this size, especially when you can't get in the lake. One golf cart for a place that can hold 18 people - not very accommodating. Not enough parking. The list goes on and on.

Reviewer Comments: This was our 4th time visiting Beach Walk—we love the beach, the pool, the golf cart, and the game room. It’s a great area for families, and we always enjoy our time there.This stay, however, had some challenges. Beach Bear and Beach Cub are two separate houses, which can work for a large group, but the layout made it difficult to gather and cook together. The kitchen in Beach Bear (the larger house) was extremely small—making even basic tasks like making coffee or toast surprisingly difficult.When we arrived, the AC wasn’t working. It took multiple calls, visits from different maintenance people, and hours of our trip to resolve. This really should have been caught before check-in. Other maintenance issues added up: the downstairs guest house tub drained slowly, the screened porch ceiling fan didn’t work, and the outdoor hose had no water to rinse off sand after the beach.We were also surprised that there were no toiletries in any of the bathrooms—not even a starter supply—and no beach towels provided, which made packing and planning harder for our group. Most of the outdoor chairs were dirty and uninviting, aside from the Adirondack chairs.We still had a good time overall because we love the community, but we hope the property management team addresses these issues. With a few key improvements and better attention to detail, this rental could be a much better experience—especially for larger families.

It was so nice having two houses for our group. They were both in good shape and pretty clean. The floors could have been cleaner. They seemed clean but made our socks very dirty. The kitchen was well equipped with what we needed. The ice dispenser on the fridge doesn’t work- minor detail, but good to know. The main bathroom didn’t have a toilet paper holder which was surprising because it’s such an easy fix. Again, not a big deal. The location is very good- short walk or golf cart ride to the pool and beach. It was close to over flow parking as well. There are a few green, park-like spaces in the community that the house is very close to. I love that Lake Michigan is a short golf cart ride away. You could easily walk too, unless you have a lot of stuff. Check-in was easy and the staff was super friendly and helpful. At the end of the stay the closing procedures are super easy. We had 2 minor hiccups at the beginning of the stay. Upon arrival we didn’t realize the outside garbage cans were completely full from the previous guests so we didn’t put them out that first night (trash night) - and had to spend time trying to figure out how to get them emptied- doesn’t seem like a big deal but it was a hassle we had to deal with while trying to enjoy our first day. Also- the golf cart wouldn’t hold a charge upon our arrival. After calling and trying to get it fixed we were told about a switch that needed to be flipped and turns out a breaker tripped. We would rent again!

Wonderful Family getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We gathered family members from 4 states for 4 night, 5 day vacation for our grandson’s 1st birthday and our son in law’s birthday. It was terrific. We thought just about everything was perfect. Kym in the office could not have been nicer or more helpful. Having a golf cart to use was fabulous. It allowed us to get to the Lake and pool with all our blankets, chairs and beach equipment. The only suggestion we have, is that we think wristbands should be included with the rental fee. It really was an ideal situation because everything was all right there. We parked our cars, and did not need to use them. The property was very clean. We had a few maintenance issues that were addressed immediately. We certainly would consider returning.

The golf cart was a definite plus! Beachwalk Resort is a wonderful place to spend quality time with your family. The resort amenities, bike rentals, multiple fishing places, and location to the beach are perfect. We have already looked into booking for next summer.
