Private Lake Superior Beach Home Near Marquette

Welcome to your private Lake Superior retreat. Tucked into the north woods, well back from the highway, our home sits above a quiet, unspoiled beach of classic sugar sand, just 9 miles from downtown Marquette. Swim, snorkel, or body surf when the waves are up, or simply enjoy the sun and sand. At night, look north over the lake for a blaze of stars, or west across the bay to the lights of Marquette. With a clear sky and solar activity, the Northern Lights can put on a show any time of year.

The Home -- This recently remodeled 1,800 sq ft single-level home is set behind a dune, sheltered from big storms but close enough for lake views through the north-facing windows.

• Bedrooms: Three bedrooms, each with a queen bed, cozy comforters, blackout blinds, and a full closet. The primary suite has an ensuite bath with a walk-in rain shower and walk-in closet. The other two bedrooms share a full bath with a soaking tub.

• Living: A bright living room with a queen sleeper sofa, a smart TV with Roku, and a Bose sound bar you can stream to from your phone. Free Wi-Fi throughout.

• Kitchen: Fully equipped, including cast iron, an air fryer, and plenty of ways to make coffee (Keurig, French press, pour-over, and a stovetop moka pot). An outdoor 5-burner propane grill is ready for summer.

• Dining: An 8-foot oak table seats 10, plus a 3-seat island bar.

• Comfort: Radiant hot-water heat for winter, and individual mini-splits in each bedroom and the great room for summer. Washer and dryer on the main level. Ample parking, including for trailers and RVs.

Beach Access -- The beach lies below a roughly 20-foot sand bluff, about a 20-yard walk up a sand dune from the house. Guests with limited mobility may find the walk difficult.

Explore -- Downtown Marquette and Northern Michigan University are 9 and 10 miles away, with breweries, restaurants, coffee shops, and seasonal festivals in between. The Iron Ore Heritage Trail is directly across the highway, offering a car-free bike ride into town and access to the Noquemanon Trail Network for hiking and mountain biking.
