This guest was impossible to please. She was very well aware that the nearest public beach access is an 8 minute walk and less than 1/4 mile. I told her that the parking at the access was limited before she arrived & that there were no bathrooms there, so not sure why she is acting surprised about that. I also told her that 1 mile from the property is a public access that they could drive to (Santa Clara Public Beach Access) that had plenty of parking, showers, bathrooms, and a ramp into the sand so they could roll strollers onto the sand & skip the steps. I have rated her on VRBO as a guest who I would not rent to again due to the amount of complaining about everything - mostly things out of my control. The other reason is because the condition she and her guests left the property. Two beds had been wet in, one bedroom had vomit on the floor, toilets left unflushed, and the amount of cereal and crackers that had to be vacuumed out of the couches and from under the bunk beds could feed an army! This guest had 14 grandchildren with her and my guess is that she was very stressed with so many little ones to care for. The 8 minute walk probably was harder with all the small children, but she was made very aware of all this before she even booked. Please read the reviews of the guests who stayed right before her and right after her - all 5 stars!

Thank you for your 4/5 Star rating, and I really appreciate your feedback. I strive to make my guests' vacations nothing less than a 5 Star experience, so it's helpful to hear your comments, so I can try my best to improve. You're right - the pool is great with lots of dining and lounging space and the new renovation with a 6' sundeck, large attached spa and spillover waterfall is top notch. There are TWO sets of washers and dryers in the house. One set is a smaller stackable set, but the other set that was installed in Feb. 2013 is a full size washer and dryer. These really should be adequate for washing guests' clothing, bathing suits and beach towels. There are plenty of bath towels and sheets provided for the guests upon arrival, and hopefully no one feels like they need to wash those during their vacation, as that is a job for the housekeeper upon departure. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach from our house, and we try to make that easier by providing a large wagon and rolling cooler for our guests to use. I also provide my guests with the names of a few local companies that can rent golf carts for your use. We have installed an electrical outlet on one of the driveways so that the golf carts can be charged at night. Again, thank you for your comments, and after speaking with another member of your party, I was so glad to hear that your group had such an enjoyable vacation at "Seaside Reunion!" I work very hard to keep my vacation properties well maintained, clean, and safe and I keep the communication open between myself and my guests before and during their stays. Reviews from both of my vacation properties give a sense for how much my guests enjoy working with me and how responsive I am to their needs during their stay. This guest did arrive to a home that was not cleaned as well as it normally is. This is a very large property and can be challenging to clean, especially when the cleaners only have between 10-4, and some departing guests leave the property messier than others. This particular week, my main housekeeper admitted that one of her cleaners did a poor job mopping and dusting and overall, the team who was cleaning got in a hurry and did not clean as well as expected. However, when the guest says she doesn't know if the house was cleaned at all, that is not true because when she called to complain, I had my main housekeeper go back to the property in less than an hour after their arrival and she did not leave until this guest told her that everything was cleaned to her satisfaction (I have texts to prove this). The guest mentioned that the house needed a deep cleaning, and that has been completed, as it always is at the end of the busy summer season. This is a popular property that stays fully booked from Memorial Day into August, so it's impossible to deep clean it until after the summer season, but a very thorough deep cleaning has now been completed. Extra cleaning and maintenance repairs and upgrades will be ongoing throughout the slower fall and winter seasons and the house will be organized, clean and ready by spring for another busy tourist season. To address the mattress comment - This guest never mentioned the mattresses to me during her stay, but another member of her group, who stayed in one of the 2 upstairs king bedrooms actually mentioned to me that her bed was very comfortable. I do have plans to replace many of the twin and full mattresses in the bunk rooms this fall and I will certainly evaluate and replace any of the king sized ones that need it as well. The guest texted me one time during her stay about the internet. I instructed her on how to reset the modem and once she did that, she said everyone was able to use the wifi and I never heard about the internet again. Potential guests - please discuss further with me and read past reviews before making your decision based on this one negative review.

I’m sorry the property was not what you expected. Unfortunately the day you checked in, the cleaners were rushed & overwhelmed and did not clean to my expectations. That was also the same day my pool guy had a family emergency and failed to let me know he would not be able to clean that day and it was following a very bad storm that left the pool with some debris and cloudy, which I totally understand is a disappointing thing to see when you arrive at a property. As soon as you let me know, I immediately contacted the cleaners & pool guy & both of them were there Sunday morning and both issues were resolved to your & my satisfaction. I think your 2 star rating is unfair and I’m shocked that you would have even stayed an entire week in a place that you considered only worthy of 2 stars. The reason you stayed is because this is not a 2 star peppery, and I have many, many 5 star reviews that say otherwise. As a matter of fact, the group that stayed the week before you gave it 5 stars. This is a very popular property for large groups & has been booked solid from Saturday - Saturday since Memorial Day week, so yes, now that the busy summer season is winding down, the property will be having a major deep clean & refreshing of kitchen amenities, linens & replacing worn furniture as we have done every year for the 13 years we have self managed. Renting a property.directly from the owner has many benefits such as being able to reach someone right away on the phone like you did when you called me at 7:30 pm on Saturday night & I dropped my dinner plans to spend the next couple hours talking to the cleaners & pool guy and sharing your concerns & scheduling a time for them to come meet you Sunday morning. I even paid my cleaners extra because not only did they take care of the tasks they had overlooked the day before, they stayed even longer and completed more cleaning tasks that you asked them to do that fall outside of what they normally have time to complete on a busy Saturday. They only have 6 hours to change 19 beds in a 10 BR house, clean 2 kitchens & 10 bathrooms, dust, and vacuum & mop 5,000 square feet of wood floors. For potential guests reading this, please take the time to read through my other reviews. This is a well managed & very loved property that my family personally vacations in. Am I disappointed that my staff dropped the ball on the arrival date of this guest? Of course I am & I let them know & they took care of things in a very timely manner. Per communication I had with these guests who arrived Saturday evening, they were satisfied with the way things were taken care of and were enjoying their vacation. by Sunday afternoon.
