FAQs:
Q: How close is the house to Acadia National Park?
A: Great question! Many first-time visitors think that the only way to get into Acadia is through the Park Loop Road in Bar Harbor, but in reality the park is spread out all over Mount Desert Island (and beyond) and is connected via the extensive Carriage Road and trail system. The closest access point is the Western Mountain connector road, just 1/4 mile from our door!
Q: How many vehicles can I park?
A: The driveway has a capacity for up to three vehicles.
Q: Is early check-in available?
A: Unfortunately we are unable to offer early check-in as we almost always have a group checking out the same day as the next one arrives. We need the entire time between groups to properly clean and prepare the space for your arrival.
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Yes, pets are allowed at Brook House for an additional fee.
Q: What if the weather is bad/the Park is crowded? Can I cancel?
A: Please refer to the listing for a description of the cancelation policy. Just as our guests expect to have their reservations honored, we also rely on consistent bookings to continue operations and do not have the ability to absorb last-minute cancellations as many hotels do. Though we can't control the weather, the Mount Desert Island area has lots of rainy-day activities to keep you entertained any time of the year!
Q: How far away is Bar Harbor, groceries, etc?
A: Distances to local attractions from Brook House:
Bar Harbor (restaurants, hospital, shops, etc.): 15 miles / 25 minutes
Bangor (big-box stores, airport): 51 miles / 1 hour 15 minutes
Downtown Southwest Harbor (restaurants, bars, shops): 2 miles / 5 minutes
Ellsworth (shopping, supplies): 20 miles / 31 minutes
EV Charger (Level 2): In the garage

New England Outdoor Center/Baxter State Park (for white water rafting, moose watching, climbing Katahdin): 131 miles / 2 hours 30 minutes
