Pre-arrival instructions and communication throughout the stay were excellent. The location and quiet, private setting are also ideal. There was plenty of hot water with good pressure, and the master shower is really nice.Unfortunately, when we arrived, the unit smelled heavily of dog. It took a couple of days and a can of Febreze Pet Odor Eliminator for the air to clear. Our host did have a cleaner come in during our stay, which helped. In the living room, the futon couch may have utility as an extra bed, but it isn't comfortable for sitting any length of time. Aside from the futon, there is only one rocking chair, so groups of more than two or three will be forced to use dining room chairs if hanging out together. The listing alternately describes the kitchen space as a 'small full kitchen,' 'kitchen,' and 'kitchenette.' It is definitely a kitchenette—featuring two electric burners inset in a countertop, a sink, and a full-size microwave. There is also an old drip coffee maker that (by my standards) was too dirty to use, so I opted for instant coffee instead. In summary, the location—both its proximity to the Baltimore-Washington area and the quiet neighborhood/yard—is a strong positive. If you are traveling with pets and don't plan to spend much time hanging out inside the unit, this is a good choice.
