Peaceful, Private Woodland Lot, 9 Minutes to UNC/Downtown Chapel Hill

Beautiful, colorful, very private 3-bedroom/2-lounge contemporary home in a small, quiet neighborhood. Very experienced Premier Hosts (to know what kind of hosts we are, please see our 150+ exceptional reviews on our other VRBO property - id 2009670).

This is our primary home - not a bare-bones rental property - so absolutely anything you might need to make a real home-from-home is provided. We live in a beautiful and unspoilt area - yet less than 5 miles from the center of Chapel Hill, with easy access to Durham and Raleigh.

Quiet development in the woods, beautifully and comfortably furnished and fully updated recently. On 1+ acre, large, fenced, and landscaped lot with a back yard backing onto a small creek and 100+/- acres of quiet woodland with walking paths.

3 queen bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully updated kitchen, large dining room, large living room with vaulted ceilings. Additional separate lounge/entertainment in one bedroom with HDTV and top-notch 8-speaker sound system. Slate, tile, acacia wood and Travertine floors throughout. Huge sliding glass doors leading to beautiful large sunny deck overlooking the back garden and woods.

The house is not overlooked from any direction, and there is no road noise. The garden shed has an additional seating deck with covered porch.

Lots of great artwork throughout the house(much of it original), CH & AC, entertainment system with 65" Sony UHD TV and high-quality sound system. Also 4 ceiling speakers in the dining area and kitchen - great for music and movies.

Large, en-suite primary bedroom with queen bed, one queen guest room, additional lounge/entertainment/bedroom with office space, elliptical, and a 55" HDTV with 7.1 sound system to distract you from your workout. There is also a Bowflex weight machine in the primary bedroom.

A small additional nightly fee applies for bookings with more than 4 guests - this is to cover the extra cleaning and laundering.

Absolutely no parties or large gatherings, under any circumstances. Maximum occupancy 6 persons.

Please note that while there is a gas grill on one of the pictures, the grill is no longer on the property.

We had a lovely stay at this property! We stayed there for several weeks while a family member was receiving care at UNC Hospital. It was a convenient location and a comfortable place to sleep at night. The host was extremely accommodating when our schedule changed and we needed an earlier check-out date. I highly recommend staying here.

We truly enjoyed our stay here. Secluded, yet 10 minutes from UNC. Tristi was a caring and communitive. There were no issues from check-in to departure. The house is essentially an art gallery and a study in their family history. We enjoyed studying the walls with a glass of coffee each morning. We prepped and cooked every meal in their well stocked kitchen and appreciated the paper towels, wraps, baggies, etc. The dining room table was a wonderful place to play games every night and reconnect with family. We hope to stay here again. Thanks so much for the opportuntiy and hospitality, Alex and Tristi!

Dreamy Outdoor Hidden Gem

The perfect home away from home, this property is the perfect location if you want to be relatively close to some of the major towns and cities within North Carolina. If you are traveling to Raleigh or the Chapel Hill area for games or concerts this would be the perfect place to stay. It is secluded, so it is very private, and with an outdoor oasis and ambience lighting it is a short drive from many shops and restaurants. The home was warm, inviting, very clean and full of unique charm. The hospitality from the host is top notch! It’s literally your “home away from home” 5 stars!

Wonderful relaxing home

Peaceful week in the woods enjoying the birds, trails out back and a rare NC snowstorm. This house is away from it all but close to everything. Our dogs loved the fenced yard, exploring the trails and seeing their first snow!

Quiet, peaceful, and close enough to town

We stayed here for two weeks while our own house was undergoing renovation. This place was the perfect place to stay. The house and the neighborhood are peaceful and quiet, with big lots and a large amount of undeveloped land (with trails and small streams!) The hosts have a perfectly clean and welcoming house, with tons of artwork, photos, and skylights giving lots of sunlight. The kitchen was well-equipped, the living room extremely comfortable, and the back deck was a great place to hang out on sunny days (particularly since front and back yards were well-landscaped including a small pond!) The hosts themselves were great to deal with and communication was perfect. Carrboro and adjoining Chapel Hill have a lot of good restaurants just a short distance away; I specifically recommend La Montana for the best Latin-influenced meal I can remember.

Awesome Location!

My wife and I loved our stay here. Our 2.5 year old German Shepherd absolutely loved the backyard and the trails in the woods behind the house. The location is perfect - it's really close to Carrboro and UNC's campus and it's also extremely peaceful/quiet at night time. The house was extremely clean, and check-in was a breeze. Zero complaints, would stay here again in a heartbeat the next time we are in the area!

Tranquil Respite

Alex and Tristi’s home provided the peace and quiet needed while in town for a family funeral. The house was clean and comfortable- the neighborhood was quiet and safe for our twice daily dog walks- Alex and Tristi were incredibly kind, accommodating, and communicative. Would definitely recommend to those needing a cozy pet-friendly spot.

Even better than expected

The house and grounds are even better than shown on the website. Everything was immaculate and clean and the house was stocked with everything you could possibly want. The home is beautifully decorated with all manner of comfortable furniture and interesting art. The bed was especially comfortable. If you're a cook, you'll find the kitchen has everything you'll need to fix anything from a quick breakfast to a gourmet dinner. The back deck and yard are spacious and useful for all sorts of activities. It's in a nice, quiet neighborhood yet offers a lot of privacy. It's also convenient and quick to get to Chapel Hill and Carrboro where there are all types of interesting shops, restaurants, and entertainment. Alex and Tristi are great hosts: very friendly and responsive. We will gladly book again when we return to the area in the coming months.

A delightful, private home so close to town!

Our second stay at this well cared for and immaculate home was so relaxing. The home is richly decorated with fabulous art throughout. The kitchen is a dream with new, high-end appliances and all the cooking gear you could ever need. Love the newly remodeled master bedroom bathroom. Eat at the dining table while gazing out a window wall at the totally private Garden of Eden style back yard. Deer wander around, hawks cry, and goldfish splash in the pond. Lots of art in the gardens as well! Communication to/from the owners is fast, efficient and friendly. You'll feel right at home in this lovely house that is just minutes from the UNC Chapel Hill campus, Franklin St in downtown Chapel Hill, and the funky, eclectic town of Carrboro. Many places to dine in the area from swanky to pub like. Grocery shopping and gas also just minutes away. Parks nearby as well. Highly recommend!

A gem among the trees

With the house set back among clusters of trees, I felt perfectly secluded yet an easy drive to Chapel Hill and the greater Triangle area. This house is personalized with so many add-ons, from the well-stocked kitchen to the multiple art works as well as color aesthetics both inside and out, it is clear that the owner takes great pride in home ownership. The backyard deck overlooking a well-maintained yard of varying grasses, a small fishpond and shed, leading into the deep woods enhances the location with peacefulness. I look forward to my stay again in the near future.

Exceeded expectations!

We had a great stay at this beautiful property - it's hidden away on a very private, woodsy site - but it is literally 7 or 8 minutes from downtown Chapel Hill. The description and pictures don't really do it justice - it's beautifully updated and decorated - lots of interesting art-work and lighting - very well-stocked and appointed(great gourmet kitchen), and it was scrupulously clean(a big plus for us!). The back deck and gardens surrounded by woods are a great place for morning coffee, glass of wine or dinner - we spent a lot of time out there! The owners were helpful and responsive, and provided lots of advance information about the property and the local area, which we appreciated. All in all, this is just a very comfortable and peaceful place to be - we will definitely be back for a longer stay!

Beautiful home in a super peaceful neighborhood!

Seriously this place was amazing, we saw whitetail deer as we arrived and sat on the deck in the afternoon watching the Fall colors. The back deck is super private and there were hawks & songbirds all afternoon, the wifi reached the little pond area just off the deck so finishing up a few work things felt like a private retreat. The house is colorful & decorated with unique art pieces and oversized comfy couches. Amazing TV/theatre system and gas logs in the living room (it was warm but I can imagine in winter this is extra cozy)- made some popcorn and settled back for a movie in the evening. Beds were comfy (we didn’t use the pull out sofa) and bathrooms etc all well appointed. It’s just a few minutes into town, check out the Carrboro Farmers Market on Saturday morning if you get a chance. The owners, Tristi & Alex were easy to communicate with (I couldn’t find the spice rack and needed to borrow a cinnamon stick… it’s on the wall labelled “spice rack” - duh) and had thought of everything we might need. We will be back for our next trip to Chapel Hill for sure!

Lovely woodland home

We had a very relaxing time here, sitting out on the deck and trying to identify all the different birds. The mature garden is magical framed by huge mature trees, makes you feel secluded although the home is in a neighborhood and very close to town. The house is beautifully-decorated and very comfortable. Cooking in the gourmet kitchen was a real treat - it has everything you might want or need. Tristi and Alex were very helpful and responsive hosts - they provided lots of background information and helpful suggestions, which we really appreciated and allowed up to make the most of our time. Overall just a great experience - one we hope to repeat soon!

This is a beautiful home!!

We had a great stay in this beautiful home - it's very nicely updated, furnished and decorated, well-stocked, and equipped with just about anything you might need and very clean. Great deck, private garden and woods all around, and very convenient for Chapel Hill town. The owners were very communicative and informative - they seem to have thought of everything - we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

We (Alex and Tristi) have lived in the lush, green woods of North Carolina since 2000. In 2007 we began spending wonder-filled time in the Blue Ridge Mountains and fell in love with it! In 2015, we bought Vrbo cabin listing "Moo Meadow" but didn't open up this family retreat for rentals until 2020. In 2023 we bought a neighboring cabin, "Perfect Getaway" to enjoy and share. When we are not in Virginia or North Carolina, we are hiking and exploring from "Urr Getaway" on the Solway Firth (the Scottish Riviera!) in Kippford, Scotland. We are grateful to be able to enjoy these wonderful places, and grateful to be able to share them with our guests.

Our home has been lovingly decorated and maintained for our enjoyment, and yours. We've stayed in many "empty shells" over the years, without warmth, welcome, or character. We don't want that for ourselves, and we don't want that for you. We feel the woods we live in are magical! Our goal is for you to have that same experience.
On the very important but less romantic side of things, we have completely updated our home between 2016-2022, so everything is in excellent working order. You'll find a new gas log set, a new AC/heatpump, new washer and dryer, new kitchen appliances; fridge, oven/stove, microwave and dishwasher, new roof, new skylights, fresh paint.... and on, and on.

Because this is our home, it has everything you will need. Whatever you find here, you are welcome to use. Need a band-aid? Forgot a charging cable? A stamp? Scotch tape? You get the idea.
We expect you to bring your own groceries, of course. But, forgot a can of beans? As with anything else we have that you might need... If there's one in the pantry, help yourself!
