Gone Coastal in Gulf Shores was founded in 2007 — the original, not the imitators. I'm Laurel, the owner and the only person running this operation. No property management companies, no middlemen. I tried that once, early on, and fired them within six months. Hands-on is the only way I know how to do this.

I first visited Gulf Shores in the 1990s with my two golden retrievers, and pet-friendly places were hard to come by. When I bought my first property in 2002, I made a simple promise: clean, well-stocked, and genuinely welcoming to guests and their dogs. Twenty-one years later, that hasn't changed.

Twenty-one years on this coast, four years as a nurse, and one non-negotiable standard: if it isn't right, it gets fixed. I'm not managing a portfolio — I'm hosting guests in a place I care about, and that difference shows up in every detail.
