Find your Groove in Ocean Beach
Just north of Point Loma, this small beach town is a favorite among locals for its blissful mix of activities and pastimes, including surfing, sunbathing near the pier and strolling among the many surf shops, taco stands and unique local boutiques. Ocean Beach boasts a throwback vibe of vintage SoCal, coupled with friendly locals, great dining and microbrews, and a vibrant nightlife scene.

WHERE TO GO
The Pier at the foot of Newport Avenue is one of the longest piers in Southern California, extending a half mile out to sea. The Ocean Beach Pier is one of the few places in San Diego where you can fish without a valid California fishing license. It is now fully reopened after extensive repairs due to storm and wave damage.
Dog Beach is wedged between the Mission Bay Harbor Channel and the jetty at the north end of Ocean Beach. Here, pets are not only allowed on the beach, but are permitted to play leash-free with other canine beach-lovers.

This shabby Chic bungalow is walking distance to the beach, boardwalk and downtown shops , eating. Great outdoor space for BBQ and enjoying your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Free on site parking included.

I think this spot is ideal for a weekend trip/small trip to the beach with a few friends. Close to everything OB has to offer.

Great location. Central to all amenities and the beach. Parking was very convenient. When we first arrived we had trouble with the electronic lock, creating some immediate frustration. The apartment itself appeared clean, however there was a musty oder, even with both windows open it did not disappear during our stay. There is an outdoor seating area that was unusable due to flies. Even though the house itself is clean the rear alley is appalling. I believe that to be the source of the flies.Overall it was tolerable, although a bit cramp, for our family of four. What we wanted was the beach, not a place to spend indoors. The price was comparable to something we would rent at the New Jersey shore.

I loved my stay at the beach cottage! It checked all of my boxes; comfortable bed, coffee, clean, quiet, great location (it really is 2 blocks from the beach), restaurants, Old Town, the airport (very little noise in the daytime and none at night), and parking. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Let's start with the good. The location is PERFECT! The off street parking was definitely a perk. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance. The beach was also only 2 blocks away! Now, the not so good. The unit was not what was shown in the listing. The shower wouldn't drain and after text communication with the host, maintenance never showed up for that issue. We had to wait nearly an hour before the next person could shower. The 2nd day we were there, the door would not lock and my communication with the host was less than ideal. They sent out a maintenance person to change the batteries. It was good until the next day when our unit door would not lock...again. The AC worked sporadically, the bedroom fan and light kept turning on in the middle of the night. I'm assuming it was an electrical issue because there was clearly water damage that had been painted over on the ceiling. The floors are also slanted so if you have an older guest (like we did) it's a hazard.

This was a nice, clean place to stay with a great location within easy walking distance to beach. Everything was easy and we enjoyed our stay.

The unit was clean and I appreciated the bedroom being a bit separated from the living area. It was musty when we checked in. We were able to air out the unit except the bathroom continued to smell like mildew. It was clean though. Although the bathroom was not as nice as it looked in the photos, I think it is a great property for the price and location.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the house, it was so easy to book and cozy. We were at San Diego for my son’s military graduation ceremony and family events, we would arrive exhausted and we were so glad that the place clean and cozy for rest and has everything we need. I really recommend this cozy bungalow, it’s small but it was perfect for my family of four.

Perfect place to relax

We were in town for a wedding and this location was perfect. Close to beach and restaurants. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing spot.

Excellent location

This booking did not meet our expectations, Upon arrival, the door security code did not work and it took some time for us to get another from Vrbo and host.The unit was extremely hot when we finally entered. There was no central a/c. Instead, there was a small portable floor unit in the bedroom, which was unable to cool the entire unit, the kitchen in particular.There were only two windows in the entire unit—one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom, located at opposite ends of the unit, and they did not provide adequate ventilation or airflow.The bedroom's overhead light turned on by itself in the middle of the night, waking us both nights of our stay, disrupting our sleep.The property was advertised as a "cottage," but it appeared to be one of six units within what looked like an older duplex-style building. The grounds were unkempt, stacks of what appeared to be old mattresses were piled up in the backyard. In the alley where we had to park, we noticed damage to the gate, including a large opening where part of the gate was missing. We then had to carry our luggage from the alley to the unit because the gravel walkway made it impossible to roll our bags. Taken together, these issues—including the initial access problem, inadequate cooling, lack of ventilation, repeated nighttime disturbance, condition of the grounds, and discrepancies between the advertised description and the actual property—made the stay considerably less comfortable than we reasonably expected.

Affordable spot in a great location!

The property was just what we needed for our group of 3 adults to stay near the beach for a few days. Not really set up for dining in, but for breakfast and sightseeing it worked well, and it was great to have a dedicated parking place!
