Welcome to your private retreat on the banks of the Cascade River—just outside North Cascades National Park. This off-grid cabin in the gated Cascade River Park community offers the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort.

Whether you're planning a weekend of hiking, fishing, or simply disconnecting from the hustle, this cozy hideaway is your basecamp for adventure and relaxation. Inside, you’ll find a well-stocked kitchen, a coffee and wine bar, and a warm wood-burning stove. The cabin runs on propane for heating and cooking, with a dependable generator to charge the battery bank that powers lights and internet.

Unwind on the private deck, listen to the river rush by, grill your dinner, or stargaze from the fire pit. Best of all, soak in the wood-fired hot tub just steps from the river—an experience guests often call unforgettable. Please note: The use of the wood burning hot tub may be restricted due to burn bans during peak wildfire season. (July-Oct)

Though fully off-grid, the cabin delivers a comfortable stay surrounded by stunning natural beauty. And when you're ready to explore, you’re only minutes from North Cascades National Park, known for its wild alpine trails, waterfalls, and abundant wildlife.

We really enjoyed our stay at Somnia Vera! Really great location, directly on the Cascade River. Awesome wood-fired hot tub, and the cottage is a treat! Very close to some of the best hiking in Cascades, but plenty far away from civilization!

Lovely cabin right by the river! No problem being off grid with beautiful furnishings and a great kitchen. Soaker tub was unique and good for a long soak after all day hiking in the park. Did not enjoy hot tub because of unusually warm weather but would be awesome in cooler temperatures. Host was very communicative and a deer came right into the yard for fun photos. Would highly recommend for everyone!

This was the coziest cabin - the perfect spot for a weekend away to celebrate our anniversary. It had everything we needed. We brought a few groceries and stayed in the whole time - the stainless cooktop was so nice. The wood-fired hot tub was amazing and we went an relaxed in it while watching the snow fall. We didn't want to leave!

The cabin is beautiful and has everything you need in a kitchen . Ron the host was incredible and super fast in response time. Unfortunately when there is a fire ban you cannot use the hot tub which is disappointing since you are paying a premium cost for the cabin. Would have been nice if host gave a discount for this but that was not the case. One thing the photos do not show is how close the neighbors are to you. We came to have peace and quiet and 4 trucks rolled in with 8 20 year old kids tenting literally a 100 feet away in tents. Needless to say we were super disappointed in lack of being in a quiet peaceful setting . For the amount of money this cost for 3 nights it was not worth it with the loud group of renters next to us. It’s off grid but don’t expect it to be secluded or tranquil.

We certainly understand your disappointment regarding the wood-fired hot tub. Unfortunately, the National Park Service implemented a complete ban on wood fires due to elevated wildfire conditions, making it impossible for us to operate the hot tub safely. We updated our listing and pre-arrival information as soon as the ban went into effect, and we look forward to reopening the hot tub as soon as conditions allow. We also understand your frustration with the neighboring property. It is privately owned and is typically unoccupied for most of the year, but during your holiday weekend it happened to be hosting a larger gathering. Fortunately, this is not representative of the experience most of our guests enjoy, as reflected in many of our reviews describing the peaceful riverside setting. We truly appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best.

This is an amazing cabin! It's a great place to stay to explore North Cascades NP, esp. the hiking trails off of Cascade River Rd. (Even though the wifi is excellent) If you want to be off the grid, but want the creature comforts of home, this is the place to be. (If you want to be completely off the grid, just don't connect to the wifi. There is no cell reception anywhere near here.) Just sit by the beautiful crystal clear Cascade River, which is just a few feet beyond the back deck, and forget that anything else is going on in the world. The pictures are all accurate: the cabin is that beautiful, but the pictures of the river don't do it justice. It is overwhelmingly beautiful! The other pleasant surprise: a restaurant quality Wolf oven and cooktop. Maybe I missed that in the description, but my family of cooks was quite impressed. One more thing: the owner was possibly the most responsive VRBO owner I have ever encountered. Communication was great and my questions were always answered promptly. My only regret is that our vacation plans did not allow us to stay longer. I would definitely come back here and stay longer, to enjoy the wonderful cabin, the beautiful Cascade River, and hike more of the trails.

The cabin is architecturally unique in a gorgeous location on the river. It is extremely well maintained and equipped. There is nothing better after a day of hiking the North Cascades, than sitting by the river with a fire and a glass of wine. This is our second stay and we will definitely be back.

I was a bit skeptical after learning about the generator process that I didn't read about in reviews. We decided to go anyways and boy are we glad we did. Absolutely beautiful property, and Ron, our host was great. Waking up and having coffee looking at the river was mesmerizing. Steps from the rivers edge made it very easy to hike up and down its banks. The cabin has all the necessities you would need, except for a hairdryer, my wifes only complaint! we cooked most of our meals there but did venture in to town and ate at Up River Bar and Grill. Food was very good. All in all a great choice for spending our 40th wedding anniversary. Look forward to a return visit in the future.

Amazing cabin!

We had an amazing time at the cabin. Everything is set up so well and thoughtfully. It was an great place to spend a rainy, lazy weekend enjoying the river view and hot tub.

Amazing cabin, property, and location!

Couldn't ask for a better property and location. Beautiful cabin, perfect backyard riverfront property, spacious, everything you could want in a VRBO.

Perfect location!

This cabin was picture perfect! Great location for exploring the park! Babbling brook was gorgeous! And loved the touch of the Lego A frame!

Great cabin

We loved our stay here. The cabin was very nice and the river was wonderful. We were able to watch some salmon in the river. Close to the North Cascade National Park. We would stay here again.
