Welcome to Sang Mountain Cabin! This charming home is estimated to be at 160 years old and has been fully restored! This special little gem is only about 10 minutes from the popular Red River Gorge and about 10 minutes from downtown Stanton, KY. Just close enough to all the attractions of Natural Bridge State Resort Park and close enough to be able to make a grocery run as well! Come out and stay a while!

We enjoyed our quiet off the grid experience very much! Not for fancy people! But perfect for us because it had everything we needed! Given another opportunity… we would definitely stay again!!

Great cabin in a holler. It was perfect crashing place to go to the gorge. Note: no Verizon service or WiFi in cabin, which was actually super nice. WiFi available across street! Super cute and fun! Watch out tall people, door required ducking to get in.

This place has a lot of potential. I sent the property manager my concerns. My largest being that the front door isn't secured. Definitely needs replacement. Again not a total loss but with a little love it could be amazing.

Celebration at the gorge

It was perfect for what we needed it for. I had a lot of fun here with my boyfriend and our really good friend. Would love to come back some time.

Hang your food or put it in the fridge. Mice made a nest in kitchen drawer while we slept, broke into the dry goods placed in the kitchen, apparently got into the oven at some point to run around on the pans in there. The one I saw was plump and didn't run until I opened the cupboard door. You can shake hands from the shower to the kitchen sink, literally. The closed and locked door provides the most interior natural light. There are nails sticking out from the beams, over 5'3 and you have to duck, 6'3 and you need a tetanus shot. The water gets dangerously hot, very very quickly. Don't flush while you're in the shower, or use a sink, it will hurt. The fire pit was nice, other than being on the bank, under a tree. And when I say on the bank, I mean my partner tried to stoke the fire at night and fell down 4 feet into the ditch. Bring bandages.My Subaru outback bottomed out getting out of the parking space. I'm sure there's a trick to avoiding the black top drop off, but I don't think anything good is going to happen with a sports or compact car. I was prepared for rustic, this is the first time we didn't just van camp. I'm from the country, I'm used to building codes being ignored and things being rigged just enough to work. I'm used to finding spiders and evidence of mice, but not on my cutting board and in the oven. 6'3 and your feet dangle from the toilet, seriously. I should have brought a collapsible step stool.The beds and sheets were comfortable!

Kentucky Quiet: A Cabin from another time!

This secluded “holler” of Kentucky was so peaceful and fun! We had everything we needed, beds were comfy and hot water for showers. Loved the door and ‘modern’ lock and the fire pit! We met the owner and spent two occasions talking about the history of the cabin and local area. Charming! Thanks to the host! We truly enjoyed our stay!

Mother's Day Weekend

Cool, very old cabin. We've stayed here before and enjoyed ourselves so we came back. Met the owners who were lovely people and very accommodating. Had a very nice weekend of adventuring.

Just so future guest know the entrance, to the home and the bathroom, are very short, maybe 5 foot but most likely not even that tall. Myself and my guest both hit our heads from not ducking low enough, several times, going into the bathroom. Also the shower has no lights and required us to have a flashlight to shower at any point. The shower is also low, hitting shoulder height for me, as a 5'9" female.

Snug Cabin Home Away From Home

Wonderful location, we have stayed next door to this rental in another of the properties. We love that this location is away from the crowd of the gorge and the expensive restaurants. Love having a small town near by and ability to cook and relax away from loud groups. Love this Cabin. We did find hanging one of our wool blankets over the front door kept the breeze out overnight since the bedroom is so warm you have to turn the heat down. We love all the amenities and The gas stove to cook on is the best!

Small ,rustic cabin perfect for 2 people. Close to all the attractions . Would definitely stay there again for the price. Negatives- low doors,ceilings(6'1), bumped my head a few times . The beds are 2 mattresses in the loft, but they were comfortable

If you are open to quirky

For us, perfect! A convenient huge step up from tent camping with a great price point. It may not be for those who need drywall or Disney but it had what we needed for a comfortable base to explore the area. Thanks for sharing it with us. The door gave us the giggles and is almost a work of art for those who can appreciate such things. There were several thoughtful touches, although you will feel good about your own carpentry skills after staying here. Be aware that we had no cell phone service.

we stayed over one night

this is not advertised very well, you have to be able to climb into a loft to sleep. It also is not very secure, the door could have been broke into very easily. My husband slept on the couch in case someone tried to break in, as he could not climb into the loft.

There are pros and cons to staying here. If you want an 90 a night place to rest your head, you'll find that here. Other than that, wow, this ain't what I expected. It's not a place where I'd bring someone for the holidays or a romantic getaway. This is a place literally to lay your head. The shower works and there's a stove and a fridge, both were relatively clean. It just felt like staying in a shack, with wall to wall carpeting...even the bathroom. Do I think its a fair price? I'm not sure, it should cost half of what it does. If you're staying overnight while traveling, or if you have four hikers, it's appropriate, but not fit for a family. The front door looked like somethibg from Night of the Living Dead. Again, not a bad place to stay for a night, but it's not a romantic getaway

As we came to the property the 1st thing we noticed was the front door. It is nearly falling off and cannot be locked. The place is falling apart. It is infested with rats and my girlfriends purse had gotten chewed up and the fire ster we bought to syart a fire in the fire pit was chewed up. We did stay 1 night out of the 3 nights we reserved it for. I tried contacting the host through vrbo and got no reply. The toilet is barely on and seems like its going to fall over when you sit on it. The lighting in the bathroom is so bad we had to use a flashlight to shower. This place has so much potential but needs a LOT of work. The wiring throughout the cabin looks really bad and seems like it might be a fire hazard. We are requesting our momey back but cannot get ahold of the host sine we only stayed 1 night out of 3 because it was so bad.
