A great place to stay in Playa del Carmen

My family and I had a terrific stay at El Faro. Lovely pool, right on the beach, clean and cosy accommodations. The beds were comfortable. Everything was close by. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots to do in the area.

Absolutely Perfect!!

Can't say enough good things about Reef 104 and ElFaro. The condo was very well appointed and clean. Daily maid service was wonderful. The location of ElFaro is great with everything right outside the front door. We will never stay at an all-inclusive resort in Playa again now that we've found ElFaro and your condo. Thank you so much for letting us stay there. We will be back!!

Amazing, ground level unit

Loved our stay here! Would come again. Pros: - ground level unit with unobstructed view to pool and ocean, you just step out to the pool/ocean! We spent soooo much time on the patio, talking and reading. - the listing doesn't say it, but there is an IN UNIT WASHER AND DRYER! So great - wonderful condo staff, front desk assistance - SO close to 5th Ave, a Circle K for convenience items, pharmacy, etc. Shopping, eating, is a breeze! - well appointed kitchen, d/w, comfortable beds, nice showers, able to log into Netflix, amazon, etc on TV. - great a/c, able to change temp in each bedroom Cons: - wifi is iffy - worked about 50% of the time, sometimes we lost netflix or had to walk to the lobby to connect. - the large deck from the waterfall pool edge to the ocean had sunken into the sand (erosion?), so while we were there, it was all roped off, which was a bummer. Hopefully fixed soon?, but maybe something to ask about. - grill works, but could use a lighter and a scraper - If you have more than 4 people, the listing says "sleeps 6," and they are counting a small futon style item in the front entrance hallway. There was no bedding we could find. And it's v. small, children only. Other: -Lido is the BEST restaurant, right next door. Don't eat at Tropical, we got sick from the ice there. -The host can help with an airport shuttle! (we had already booked one before we knew) -We had difficult grocery delivery from loQsea (never came) & Walmart (v. v. late). Beware.

We booked this trip on a Thursday at 4pm and arrived Friday at 5pm. Outstanding as always

We stayed here in February and had to return to enjoy more vacation life. It's out 6th time at El Faro. The staff is professional kind and courteous. Corrina at the front desk is a gem! Returning again soon.

Perfect location!

Condo was well maintained, and it's close to everything in Playa: 5th Ave restaurants and shops, Walmart 7 mins walking, Oxxo/7-eleven 1 block away, etc. Having the pool just in front of the terrace was a plus. There's security on the beach side, so this gives a lot of privacy to the people staying at the condos. As a suggestion, would be good to have handy in the condo some brochures on places that deliver food.

Great Location

This 2 bedroom condo unit is in a perfect spot to enjoy Playa del Carmen. Only one block away from all of the shops and restaurants on 5th avenue. You can walk a little farther past 5th and be at WalMart in 10 minutes for all of you long term needs like food and beverages for the condo. There are many small and local establishments on many of these back roads that are easy to walk to. The beach is right up to the pool with lots of lounges to lay back and enjoy. The condo is well fitted for comfortable living. The patio is right off the pool yet is very secure with very little distraction from others. The staff at El Faro Residences are very eager to assist you with any needs around the facility. The BBQ on the patio made for one of our most relaxing evenings. Taxis are right out front and can take you to all of the attractions. Or jump on the ferry just blocks down the beach and spend the day in Cozumel. We have been to Mexico many times, this condo and its location has been one of our best finds so far.

Very nice place! Great location!

This is a very nice unit easy walking distance to everything. It’s very nice having the pool right out back door. The only issue is the master bedroom AC makes a lot of noise and drips water so don’t leave your bag under it like I did. But great place would stay again.

Loved our stay here!!

We stayed here for 5 nights with our 2 children - we absolutely loved the accessibility and convenience of this property. It was amazing to be able to just step out and access the pool with 2 kids and 5th av just a few steps away. The property itself was so comfortable as well - we were worried about heat in July but the A/C worked great and it probably helped to be on the ground floor in the shade also. We did a lot of beach trips as well as trips to XCaret and the other "X" parks so the washing machine was useful also. Looking forward to returning!

This place was perfect in every way! Very very nice!

My family stayed here for a week in August. We had an excellent time. The condo is perfect! It was quiet, clean, had housekeeping every other day, provided beach towels too! Directly on the beach! No rocks in front of our beach or boats. The private pool is beautiful, relaxing and clean. We had 6 people, and it does not really sleep 6, more like 4. They brought us a blow up mattress, and that worked out fine. The staff was super nice and helpful. Isaac booked us tickets to Xplor and it was a blast! It is so easy to walk to the store, ferry, taxi, bus station, wal mart and 5th ave is 100 steps away. There are so many VRBOs to choose from, and you really have no idea what kind of place you'll get or what proximity it will be, but we felt like we hit the jackpot with this condo!!!

Perfect location, perfect condo, wonderful vacation!

Had an absolutely wonderful experience for our first visit to Playa Del Carmen! We have been traveling to Cabo San Lucas for the past 25 years and wanted to explore a new destination – we are now converts to Playa Del Carmen! The condo is perfectly located in both the city and the complex. We loved being ground level and the ease of getting to the pool and beach. The condo was truly welcoming and comfortable and had all the amenities one would need. Even the simple amenity of having a water cooler in the condo was a treat. It truly was very peaceful and relaxing. We loved being just a block down from 5th Avenue and how easy it was to get to restaurants, shops, convenience stores, transportation, etc. We enjoyed walking 5th Avenue every evening. Silivia Antonini, Property Manager, was very helpful. Always greeted us with a smile and willing to help us with anything we needed. The tours we took always picked us up at the front of the complex. Highlights: Xcaret – an ecotourism park – a definite must!; a tour that included the ruins Tulum and Coba, lunch, time at a beautiful beach, and a swim at a cenote; an Isla Mujeres tour that included snorkeling, lunch, time on the island, and a great boat crew; an afternoon/evening visit to Cozumel – so convenient and affordable to take the ferry over to the island. As we explored Playa Del Carmen and looked at the location of other resorts, our family all agreed El Faro was the best location. We had such a wonderful experience that even before our vacation was over we already decided we will come back next year. Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation condo!

Perfect location and Lovely accommodations!

This was an amazing girls get away trip! We had so much fun from shopping, dancing the night away, bathing in the sun, massages on the beach, riding mopeds on Cozumel, snorkeling the major reefs, diving in the cenotes, to exploring the Mayan ruins and beaches of Tulum! We did just about all you can in 6 days. This condo was perfect for us, and very beautiful! Walking distance to all the night life, restaurants, and shopping. We BBQ'd a couple of times and made one to two meals a day there. Good AC, good WiFi, customer service was excellent and security was stellar. I can only wish for one small upgrade and that is for better knifes and a cutting board. I can't wait to visit again!

Best Vacation ever!

We, a family of 4 from Norway stayed in the appartment from 13th - 20th of July. The appartment was just perfect for us. With to boys (5 and 8) the location just beside the pool was really great. The appartment itself has got everything you could possibly need for a vacation, even a dishwasher and washingmachine/dryer. 2 big bedrooms with very nice beds, to big bathrooms, a nice kitchen and livingroom, 3 tv's, a nice terrace to sit in the evening and to eat breakfast at in the morning. The property is also great, with free sunbeds on the magnificent beach, free towels, and location, location, location!! Just at the beach but also just in the middle of the centre of Playa Del Carmen. To be honest, we could not find anything to complain about, and we will definetly stay here again.

Had a great stay!

We stayed at this property for 4 nights in July. It was just perfect for our family of 5 with kids. The condo is absolutely wonderful! It is in a great location, first floor, with direct access to the pool, and just a few steps from the beach. The decoration is lovely. It's very well furnished, rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. We loved the big terrace, as some other condos don't have it. The property of El Faro, itself, has an excellent location, one block from la quinta street, where you'll find lots of restaurants and shops. Attention and service was perfect at all times. The beach is wonderful too. We had an excellent communication with the owners, which is very important for us when renting a property. We would recommend it to anyone and will definitely stay here again next time.

Wow, unbelievable!!

I have stayed a couple of times, once with girlfriends, once with my boyfriend! Love the beach it is steps away from the resort. So is everything!! One block to 5th Ave nightlife and shopping!! Two blocks to Walmart. You can go for morning walk and get fresh fruit!! Once you come you will want to come back! You don't even know you are in Mexico! The food is incrediable at Wicky's!! Everything is great, especially the fish and chips and the burgers!! The staff at Wicky's are very friendly! Can't get enough of this place! El Faro we will be back in Feb. Can't wait!! Great for all ages as you can do sightseeing or lay on the beach, your choice!

Summer Fun!!!!

We had such a great time in Playa del Carmen. Staying @ the condo in El-Farro was amazing, beach outside your door, shopping steps away, food and drink around the corner. The condo was great, clean,very inviting home away from home.We will definitely go back!!

Family Holiday

We stayed at the Ef Faro resort for two weeks over Christmas and New Years, with the whole family (12 people) in two condo's. The location doesn't get any better. So convient to restaurtants, bars, groceries,& entertainment. It was very exciting to be there for New years. The little kids loved the pool and it was just outside our patio door. The condo is very comfortable and has everything you need. The ocean is great to swim in. Very clean and the grounds are very well manicured. A pleasure!

Excellent Location

Our family took our first winter holiday together at the El Faro. Very clean with a beautiful view of the ocean. It had all the amenities you needed in a 5 minute walk. The family had great time sitting around the pool or sun tanning on the beautiful white sandy beach, just like the picture's show. Babe's Noodle Bar is just a short walk for same fantastic food. The owner's where true to there word, when they said this is a great vacation spot for your family. We all can't wait too go back. Highly recommend.

A Little Piece of Heaven!

WOW! This resort was breath taking!.....it was more than I anticipated with a fabulous location. Close to all amendities and this suite was on the Main Floor! The condo was immaculant, comfortable, excellent deck for shade, cocktails & grilling out! Service staff were awesome....everything was SOOO clean.... great food at Wicky's Restaurant....my kids loved the Burgers & Fish & Chips....of course, topped off with a Milkshake! Very much enjoyed everything....including the convenience of 5th Ave and little shops! El Faro....we will see you next winter!!

A Wonderful Holiday Condo!!

We had the pleasure of staying at the El Faro resort last August. The property is beautiful, and extremely clean with all of the amenities of home, and the luxuries of a resort. The beach in front is perfect for swimming even for people with small children. Wiki's restaurant is fabulous and the prices are quite reasonable. Try the Hamburger, its great!! There is massage tables on the beach, the pool is very clean and well cared for. You are very close to 5th Ave with all kinds of shopping and restaturants. I highly recommend this as your vacation property.

We are owners of a manufacturers representative company for HVAC products in Saskatchewan Canada. We enjoy holidaying and spending time with family and friends especially in Playa which seems like a second home to us and our three children.

Derfor valgte værten dette overnatningssted

After our first visit to the Mayan Riviera in 2000 we fell in love with the area and kept returning we then decided to purchase our first property at Paseo del Sol in 2004. We enjoy the many great aspects of Playa from the diverse cultures, ease of walking to all restaurants and shops. We find we can enjoy something different every visit and still go back to do our favourite things. The ease of getting to the Mayan Riviera is just another bonus for us and our friends.

El Faro is one of a kind in Playa as it is 1/2 a block from the entertainment district and one block from the famous 5th ave the unique parts of this as you step inside the complex you feel like you stepped into seclusion as the sounds of the action around the complex just seem to disappear. With the onsite 24 hour security your whole family feels completely comfortable day and night. The huge infinity pool with integrated kids pool and the multiple lounging areas around the pool offers a uncrowded feel.
