5 BR w/ Hot Tub, Game Room, Fire Pit & Heated Pool!

Are you in need of a vacation rental with plenty of space to spread out? With enough room for 12 guests, this home can accommodate large and multigenerational families, as well as friend groups and reunion getaways.

Guests can choose between five cozy, curated bedrooms: one on the first floor, and four on the second floor. Bathrooms aren't an issue either – with a full and half bathroom located on each floor (one with a claw foot bathtub!), getting ready in the mornings will be a breeze! When it's time to plan out the day's activities as a group, you can convene on the sectional sofa in the comfy living room or in the adjacent seating area. These are also a great place to wind down at the end of the day with a movie, or to host a game night. The kids in your group (and the kids at heart) will also be sure to love the many whimsical play areas located throughout the home. In the lower level, a converted basement offers a recreational space with ping pong and foosball tables, dart board, TV and high-top table - perfect for rainy day activities!

Not a morning person? You might actually enjoy them here! Brew a cup of coffee to enjoy on the front porch swing, or in the second floor seating area overlooking the backyard. When it's time to prepare a meal, you'll be sure to enjoy a well appointed kitchen that has been stocked with everything needed to prepare a gourmet feast. Attached to the kitchen, is a large dining area with enough seating for the whole group!

While the interior is comfortable and spacious, you'll probably be dying to get outside where the magic really happens. The grassy, beautifully landscaped back and side yards are huge. We also wouldn't judge you if you spent your entire vacation poolside, swimming, and sunning on our umbrella-covered lounge chairs. The heated in-ground pool is open to guests from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Take a dip when the weather's hot, then gather around the tranquil outdoor fire pit space for conversation and marshmallow roasting. On cooler nights any time of year, when the air is crisp and the stars are bright in the sky, there's nothing more magical than a soak in our private hot tub. Relax and enjoy the total privacy of this backyard patio space.

Additional Information
The swimming pool is typically open from May through Labor Day, weather depending, and is set to a comfortable 80 degrees. If you are inquiring for specific dates around the opening or closing dates of the swimming pool, please inquire with a reservationist for more information. The hot tub is available to guests year-round!

We had rented another place and realized it was just too small. We were able to grab this up and were so excited. The listing showed the heated pool was open year-round, but when we got there, it was closed. Called company and they said it was closed for season. Unfortunately, the highlights showed it was open year-round but the listing details did say it was closed after Labor Day. They were very accommodating and reimbursed us for the fee for having our small dog, which was appreciated! The hot tub was nice and was open.The house was well equipped and spacious. We had plenty of room to spread out when needed. The bedrooms were very nice and beds were comfortable. The kids really enjoyed the enclosed balcony/sunroom and the hot tub. It was also nice having 2 washer/dryer sets. Having a large group, we had to wash towels a few times.I will say, this is an older home. It is modernized, but still has that old home smell and feel. Creaky floors. The staircase that leads to the kitchen from upstairs is dangerous. The steps are very steep and slanted. We told our kids they were not allowed to use it.The home is conveniently located right across from Meijer, close to downtown and the beach. It was great for our group, despite the traffic noise. We were unable to use the firepit due to a swarm of flying ants. They were everywhere. Check-in and check-out was super easy.

Very happy with the inside of house other than the hand rail to upstairs was broken.Otherwise house was clean and in order.But on the outside, the front and back pouch was covered in spiders and spider webs, had not been cleaned, nor was the property sprayed for bugs. Also, swimming pool area was dirty and covered in leaves, pool was half way clean. Jaccuzi was dirty and not clean.

Comfortable stay

Lots of room for our big group. Lots of bedrooms with different configurations to accommodate several families. The basement with foosball, darts, and ping pong was a nice touch. Also the large dining table was great to seat our large group - not something that is normally found for 8 people

Perfect family getaway!

We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday. The weather was chilly, but we did brave the short walk to downtown one day and drove it another when it got colder. We used the hot tub, which was super clean! The house was perfect for our group of 5 adults and 3 children. The rec area in the basement was great area to hang out in. Had a couple of questions upon arrival and responses were received immediately. Can't wait to come back in the summer and would definitely stay at the Blue Door again.

Good Property, but Pricey.......

Property was what we were looking for and photos looked great. When we arrived we cleaned for two hours in order to get the home in the state that pictures showed before rest of guests arrived. Alcohol all over ping pong table and ledges around it, dirt on floor, cobwebs, beer caps, grease/fingerprints on mirrors. The 3 trash cans outside were full so we couldn't fit our trash in them.Home needs some TLC, don't take anyone that has problems with stairs because they are sketchy along with railing. We did have a great time while staying and if we hadn't paid thousands of dollars to stay there then I would not have had such high expectations and would not have had any complaints. My sister in law rented a home down the street that was immaculate and spotless for half of the cost, I guess that is also a factor on why I was so let down. I would recommend this property as long as you can get a decent rate on it. As I said, we did have a good time and the pool and hot tub was nice and the house is great for a 10 person group.

Great location

Great location close to the beach and groceries, the house was clean. There was plenty of seating. Hot tub was great. It rained most of our visit so we didn’t get to use the pool, but location to beach was 6 min! Great for a large group! Would definitely stay here again.

Lake Michigan Get-away

My family had a great time staying at the blue door pool house! Easy walk to town, beach and trails. The house allowed us to share cooked meals, swim, enjoy the jacuzzi, fire pit and games together. We will definitely be back❤️

Friends Annual Summer Getaway

The property is pretty clean on the inside but definitely needs work on the outside. The pool wasn’t clean and there are lots of trees around it so they have to stay on top of cleaning that. The hot tub’s water was green and had an awful smell. Attempted to get them to come see about it but that never happened. The outside of the property needs maintenance including cleaning out the outdoor furniture and trimming up the lawn around the front porch. They would just need to use a blower to clean the furniture off. Also cleaning all the bugs and webs off the front door. For the price I think the outside of the property can be maintained better. The home is spacious which is a plus so we had plenty of room for everybody.

Great host and wonderful house.

Lots of room to spread out. Great that they had all the games in the basement and also had netflix logged onto the TV. The only improvement I would recommend to enhance the experience is an air freshener. It is a really cool old house, but has a little bit of a musty smell. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely stay here again.

Poor amenities

House location was great. House itself has a nice layout. The house wasn't as advertised the pool was dirty, not heated so couldn't be used. The hot tub was dirty upon arrival and that was reported and resolved the next day and the house didn't have hot water. I feel you should get what you pay for, nothing less.
