I could elaborate on our experience, but I'll keep it brief. One of the owner's employees attempted to forcefully enter our room, displaying aggressive behavior and yelling in Spanish, as he didn't understand English. Despite arranging a 1PM checkout with the owner, the employee seemed unaware and insisted we leave by 11AM. Fortunately, we had the security lock engaged, preventing him from entering. As a woman, this was a frightening ordeal. While I considered calling the police, time constraints due to our impending 17-day cruise prevented me from doing so.
Furthermore, the photos on VRBO misrepresented the cleanliness and condition of the rental. We've used VRBO regularly, and this was the first time I've rated a rental less than five stars. Typically, the photos and reviews accurately reflect the rental's quality, but this time was an exception. We even left the rental cleaner than when we arrived.
Attempts to reach the owner by phone have been futile, as the provided number goes unanswered without voicemail. Even VRBO chat failed to connect me with the owner after the incident.
VRBO has been notified, and we hope this prompts action to remove the owner from their platform.
