Family Weekend

Traveled to Sanibel for the Memorial Day weekend with the family. We stayed in the Moorings on our first trip to Sanibel 35 years ago and finally returned due to the need to bring out small 12 lb dog. Really nice unit, everything completely new. Grounds were in pretty good shape for everything they have been through!Pool and all the facilities are in great working order, my only suggestion would be placing a place to clean off you feet and beach equipment at one of the beach exits. I am guessing they may have been there prior to the storm.Everyone I spoke to on the phone or the welcome center so super nice, they called me to let me know the unit was ready prior to the listed check in which was great. My only real complaint which really is not the properties fault is the practice of boats anchoring close into shore where the people in the boats can jump in the water, some with chairs they place on the beach. Some proceed to play loud music without any regard to other people. There were times when we could not float around because the boats were there. It is only a matter of time before something bad happens. I am not a hater and have been a boater my entire life, but never would consider pulling my boat up in front of a resort and toss out my anchorWe have been coming to Sanibel for just over 35 years with our children who are now grown and having children of their own. If this is what Sanibel is going to allow, it will ruin the charm of this special place.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The experience was amazing - other than the large family reunion that arrived midway through our stay - that group was a disaster and nearly caused us to leave early. The master bedroom's bed needs an new mattress...wasn't able to sleep very well at all - it has a large depression on the left side. The condo location was perfect! We enjoyed both pools and relaxing by the canal side pool. There were a few large roaches present but not sure if they entered as guests or vermin.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This, being our second visit to Sanibel Moorings in the last three years, was as memorable as the first. Although the furniture is somewhat outdated, the master king bed was comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with newer appliances and well stocked with utensils, silverware, and glasses. Both bathrooms were small. The master had a walk-in shower while the other had a tub/shower. All the decor (wall hangings, lamps, tables) gave the condo a very "beachy" feeling. Also, the unit is very sound proof. No street noise or noise from the above unit that was also occupied. The staff was very polite and accommodating and adhered to the current Covid regulations. All the grounds were beautiful and well maintained. I like the complimentary use of beach chairs and umbrellas. Although unit #631 was not a beach view, it was a short walk to the beach. I would give Sanibel Moorings an A+ and am looking forward to another stay there in the future.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great week's stay again this year; however,I think that some of the overall attention to details may in need of some attention. Both in my unit and in my daughter's unit next door there was some noticeable paint peeling and wear noticeable on some of the door trim and baseboards as well as the sliding door in my unit would not latch. I realize that in themselves, these are minor complaints but at almost $500 a night I hope it is not a trend. As I have spent over fifty years in the nursery and plant industry I have always enjoyed the beautiful landscaping and gardens of the Moorings. It appears that the attention to detail here may need looking at as well. As many of the plants and trees have grown significantly over the years a number of the lower growing items have become shaded out or declined and a number of things also needed attention given to pruning back and having dead branches and trunks removed, not just shearing the tops back. My unit was right next to the road and the whole area outside the screen room was littered with fronds, branches and leaves from the road barrier of plants. By no means am I giving you a negative report, just that some closer attention to detail may be needed.

Great Accomodations!!

We LOVED our recent visit to Sanibel Moorings. The grounds were well kept, the condos were spacious and private and the staff was super friendly. We can't wait to visit again and will definitely stay at Sanibel Moorings!
